We stayed in a twin sea view room consisting of a single and double bed as well as a sofa bed. We had a view of the pool area and the sea and it was breathtaking however the road ruined it a little. The room was very clean and was cleaned by the maid daily who was very nice. The tea bags and drinks in the mini fridge were free and restocked every morning. But, they would give a maximum of 3 tea bags even though there were 4 of us in the room. The resort was very big, fine for us but some may find it too big if you are old or disabled. The worst aspect of the trip was the hotel employees. Other guests were more helpful than the employees themselves. Firstly, they spoke minimum English and it was very hard to communicate, and they didn't bother trying to understand what we were saying. They cater more towards other Europeans such as Russians, Belgians, Germans, French and Polish. All staff need to be retrained in guest hospitality considering they claim to be a five star resort. We come from England but have Bangladeshi descent which results in us being brown and we felt as though we were looked down upon by Turkish people in general i.e bazaars and public ,as well as the hotel staff. It was very uncomfortable. The beach is not a sandy beach it has pebbles and the pier was being reconstructed. However, it was OK when it was sunny. Although it was all inclusive there wasn't much variety drinks wise if you don't drink alcohol. There were only 2 mocktails and 3 different types of juices, so it doesn't live up to the 5 star rating. Overall, the worst thing was the hotel staff; this includes the bar, restaurant and reception staff, Although, there were one or two staff members who did help us happily. Now the positives! the wifi was always available whereever we were, we had it in our room too, but the others in our group had a weak signal. I would stay here again because of the hotel entertainment especially the animation team who are AMAZING!!! They are so funny, friendly, energetic and put on great shows every night. We especially liked Margarita, Nico, Iros and Sergei. The efforts of the animation team is the main reason i would come back here! There was a huge variety of food from the main Hayat restaurant and the food was always hot and tasted good. If you go all inclusive, you get to eat in one of the other 2 restaurants on ONE night of your stay, but it was fully booked so we missed out. If you want to eat in the other restaurants, book it as soon as you arrive. The pools were amazing! A bit cold due to the season, very clean and the fun activities such as aqua gym etc by the animation team were next to the pools on the beach side. The indoor Jacuzzi and swimming pool were very nice however there were too many kids in it. The funfair is free and fun for kids. The resort overall is very kid friendly. Overall, it was an AMAZING holiday we had great fun and would definitely go again but only in the summer season as the season we went in was too cold and hardly any excursions were available. If the attitude of the hotel staff was more friendly, they spoke English, and the beach was more sandy and cleaner, i would give it a 5 star rating.

Stayed at this resort for 5 nights. Booked online a 2 bedroom family room, got to the resort and was given a 1 room bedroom with sofa bed and was told my 5 years old could just sleep on the sofa. I even offered to pay extra for a upgrade and was told to call reception every morning to check if they had rooms available. On my 3rd day I called reception and asked if I could upgrade as they had already given me the wrong room to begin with.... I was told to contact my travel agent and the phone was cut off.... I went on Facebook and left a review of my experience which obviously wasn't a good 1 from the start due to the rude and arrogant reception staff who have no desire to help customers who have paid alot of money to use there services. I was called in the next day into reception and asked to remove my Facebook review for a room upgrade... They said there I.T department were working on removing the bad review...... Just shows that the hotel is so bad that the honest reviews get removed. It is not worth spending your hard earned money on this hotel. The pool is absolutely freezing..... My kids were crying not to go in.... All in all.... Looks are defiantly deceiving.... Will never return. Incredibly disappointed.

On arrival thoughts were good. Staff friendly enough and check in was quick. The room was very nice and clean. Nice sea view from balcony also. Went all inclusive. The food was ok..... have had better...some of the dishes had sat a while and could have done with a stir to make them look good to eat. Choice was good, could always find something to eat. Entertainment round the pool was good. Plenty to do and see. Nighttime was ok also. We spent a week here and in all was an ok holiday would go back as where the hotel is there is plenty to do and see outside the grounds. Only down fall was some of Russians. Extremely rude.......the Germans for years have had bad press but compared to the Russians at this hotel they are angels. It was a shame that just a few people can spoil it.... but thankfully we managed to overlook these people. Lets face it no one is perfect and no matter where you are there is always a minority that can be rude. I would recommend this hotel as a nice family hotel.... we still speak to one of the waiter's we meet while we were there.

Brilliant hotel apart from location

Just returned back to London UK with wife and kids (aged 6,4 and 1) from Antalya having stayed at the Long Beach Resort in Alanya. The journey from the airport to the hotel took well over 2 hours so very draining with the children especially after a 4 hour flight from London Stanstead. We didn't realise how far the hotel was located until we actually got on the shuttle bus. The hotel is located in Alanya which is 120 km from Antayla so if you are looking to stay close to Antayla Central then think carefully about whether this hotel is suitable for you. On our arrival at the hotel we checked in without any problems and was taken to a good size family room overlooking the sea. The room was in decor and had all necessary things you would expect from a 5* hotel. Was a bit disappointed that the tv had no English channels and more catered for the Germans and Dutch. WIFI was available in the hotel reception but the connection was not good in the room. The hotel had mainly German speaking guests who were quite friendly. Although we did meet some British families. Most of the staff didn't understand English so communication was often a barrier especially when asking for something basic even like can you clean the babies milk bottle. I had to use sign language which sometimes worked. We got to the hotel late around 10pm so we missed dinner time but the hotel offered a late dinner which starts at 12am and had enough items. The following morning we headed to the main restaurant for breakfast and was greeted by a large Buffett breakfast which I cannot fault. There was a large selection of food and deserts. Generally the food was really good during lunch and dinner. The hotel is very large with four main lifts which were constantly busy and sometimes meant having to wait for long time with our pushchair. There was also few outdoor swimming pools and one large indoor swimming pool. Due to the cold weather the kids couldn't really use the outdoor swimming pools and waterpark. The reception area had two bars offering all the drinks for free for guests so had plenty of free mocktails. Also all juices, water, hot drinks, deserts and snacks were all free at anytime throughout the hotel. There was evening entertainment for the kids including a mini-disco everynight starting at 8.30pm for an hour. At 9.30pm there was usually other shows which we found repetitive and mainly for Germans. There was also a night club within the hotel free for guests which started at 11.30pm for 3 hours. With regards to currency everything was so confusing as the shops accept euro, Turkish lira and dollar. Some shops were even prepared to take sterling. I exchanged money in Turkish lira but most shops at price items in euro and ask you how you want to pay before doing a conversion. Make sure you ask ways haggle. The taxis will always try to rip you off so make sure you haggle otherwise you end up getting ripped off. Alanya main town and shopping area is about 20 km away and the cheapest we got a taxi to do a return journey from hotel was 90 Turkish lira. We also did a trip to Antalya to do some shopping which took the whole day and the taxi cost us 230 Turkish lira return after hard bargaining. That was a result. Never seen so much fake designer handbags and watches in my life. Everywhere I looked I saw a fake Micheal Kors handbag 😀. Overall we loved the hotel apart from the location. I would definitely recommend to others but only if they don't mind travelling far to get to places and don't mind the fact that hardly anyone speaks English. Hope this review helps you make a informed decision when booking your holiday. All the best guys Sarwar Khan

Weather

Alanya prides itself as a sunny hotspot overlooking the Med, and it's astonishingly hot during the summer, reaching highs of 32° Celsius by August. Given Alanya's location, it's more temperate than unbearably warm, and there's some rain in the winter months, so a light cagoule might be in order then.

Even in the depths of winter though, the rainfall is broken by long sunny periods and the thermometer stays between 10° Celcius and 20° Celsius.
