Was here 2 years ago & was great so decided to book again this year, unfortunately it wasn't as good as before. Rooms have been upgraded, although very tight for families it's ok. However the food...
Just returned from another fortnight at this great hotel in Palma nova and found the rooms had been renovated since last year .the hotel is flintstone based and is great for families and it is close to all the main beaches .i prefer the mirlos but that is just our choice and the staff are always helpful and pleasant. I do know that magaluf is a short distance away but don't believe everything you read .I do not personally want a lounger around the pool but people are down after 7 ish sitting on chairs booking their spot as the loungers do not get unchained until about 8.45 some mornings .all in all great hotels for families and they do put themselves out to make children happy on their holidays.
My family of 8 arrived at the Mirlos at 1.15am for 10 days (Me and my wife, My son, partner and 8 yr old, 3 teenagers 19, 19 & 17) 3 rooms were allocated on the 3rd floor quick and easy booking in...
Stayed here for a week in mirlos building with partner and 3 yr old daughter.despite it being nearly 3am when we arrived check in was quick and efficient. Room was compact but clean and modern with the added bonus of a fridge. Food did get a bit samey but there was always something to eat.we did go out for one lunch and one evening meal just for a change of scenery. Luckily we always managed to get a sunbed without trying to reserve one from 6am but there could do with being more space around pools or even an extra pool.kids pool was great as our daughter could jump in and out without armbands and it kept her entertained for hours.it was disgusting how people left so much rubbish by pool but in all fairness hotel staff had it looking spotless by morning. This hotel suited us for a weeks holiday and the kids entertainers etc were brilliant.

Arrived at the Mirlos Hotel at 11pm, checked and asked if we were hungry we could go to the Tordos side of the complex for a snack. The 'snack' at the Tordos consisted of dried up beef burgers and hot dog sausages so decided to eat out that night...not a great start Hotel room was very spacious with a super terrace which overlooked the park. We then heard a very loud splash as someone threw a drink from one of the balconies at someone around the pool side, an argument ensued with foul language which was hardly surprising given the fact that someone could actually do that. In the morning around 7am there were lots of people sitting in chairs, not speaking to each other but just looking around....whats the saying about germans and sunbeds....this was the British doing the exact same....what was amusing was the fact that the same people sat in the same place everyday for a week!!!! We didn't actually use the pool as we prefer the beach WiFi...paid 25 euros for a week, had to complain 4 times before it was actually working...no refund offered for the day it did not work One night there was water dripping through the ceiling from the room upstairs, phoned reception to report it and put the bin from the room to catch the water which was actually shower water from the bathroom upstairs, the bin was not emptied with the contaminated water till the next day We bought a blow up lilo and a ball and was accused twice of stealing these by other guests....and no we didn't steal them!!!! Any inflatable that was left by the pool was binned at the end of the day by the staff Plus Side...food was really good and all staff very pleasant

Having just arrived back home from the Sol Mirlos Tordos I felt compelled to write a review. The Mirlos Tordos is advertised as a 4 star hotel and from the minute you walk into the impressive lobby you start to see where these credentials are bestowed. The lobby is very clean and spacious with plenty of comfortable seating areas and has a look and feel of a 4 star hotel, so far so good.... The problems arrived on the following morning when after a generally ok breakfast in the large restaurant which is one of 2 that the hotels have to offer, I head to the pool to secure some sun loungers for the family. They are all chained up whilst some maintenance men with what looks like a stolen supermarket trolley go about there daily repairs. I then notice that there are people sat in little brown plastic chairs staring like vultures as I made my way to the now unleashed loungers, I pick 2 up which are cumbersome and awkward for myself being a fairly fit chap and can only think of the pain that some sixty something would have to go through to get said loungers from top of the pile!!! I place my loungers down by the pool to be confronted by some pointy nosed pool parasite who duly tells me "This is my space" when we booked the holiday I don't recall space by the pool as one of the options on the additional extras section on the website, this leaves a little bit of a sour taste on the rest of the morning surely nothing worse can occur? The rooms by the way are lovely and modern spacious with TV channels to cover all fans of freeview ad the air con is perfect for temperatures that are generally in the mid thirties so this was a great result, although we had only just got used to our new temporary habitat when the phone rings and someone from reception would like to speak to me, At first I thought it may be a family emergency back home but as the call follows a knock on the door it soon becomes apparent that we will have to vacate the room due to a problem with pressure which is causing problems to the apartment below, great!!! To be really fair the English lady on reception who I didn't get her name was extremely helpful and having moved us to a room with a sea view on the higher eighth floor which was much smaller for the 3 of us she then made a few phone calls and got us into a similar sized room also with a sea view, result!! And due to our little lads protestations we end up getting the wifi free for a whole week as compensation, not all bad!!! Now back to the eighth floor there are 2 ways to access the eighth floor a mountainlike hike up 16 flights of stairs(my fitbit band unlocked a "you've climbed as high as a helicopter" award) or the lifts. Now there are 2 lifts and they were probably both there since before the actual hotel was erected they are the equivalent of being stood inside a toilet cubicle although they claim to support eight people, now this may be ok if snow white and her tiny friends took a holiday but when you're in there with someone who has just spent half an hour at the all inclusive buffet this is the equivalent of being buried alive vertically!!!! The All inclusive buffet itself is an experience to behold its generally the same stuff every day prepared in a different sauce and if you go at the wrong time is an absolute free for all and is the human equivalent of playing frogger. After the first night we ended up eating out every single night which probably tells you a lot about the experience and kind of defeated the whole idea of being all inclusive in the first place and not exactly being a foodie this dining experience would be a huge let down for someone with a more susceptible pallete, breakfast as I mentioned before is ok but its just full English every day with occasional pancakes and more pastries than Greggs. I am still going to give the Mirlos Tordos a 3 rating which is in essence what the hotel should be and not its overinflated 4. last year we stayed all inclusive at a hotel that seemed to understand its guests even little things like just having the beer and soft drinks on tap for the patrons rather than having the poor sixty something waiters from having to service a line of between 15 and 20 guests at a time rather than just take care of the mixer drinks. Its definitely a nice place to stay but if your easily annoyed its not for you, holidays should be far less stressful than having to queue for loungers!!!
