Friends asked us to join them for a few days here to soak up some sun, food and drinks were fine, the room was cleaned daily, we all felt we got value for money but it was like being zoomed back in time to the 1980s. There are plenty of shops and bars around, the train station is close but it does take over 1hr to travel to Barcelona.

We have just returned from a trip to Calella and we stayed at HTop Calella Palace, I had stayed here years ago when it was the Hotel Osiris and remembered it being ok. The hotel has since been refurbished and is spotlessly clean. We did not have any problems with any staff members, we found them all friendly and welcoming. There were large groups of teenagers of various nationalities but they caused no problems for us. I'm a wimp when it comes to cold water but my friend loved the roof top terrace and sat in the jacuzzi for hours! The downsides; the thin walls, it's true what is said on here, you really can hear absolutely everything!! Also the food wasn't great but that's always to be expected from an all inclusive holiday especially when you're a vegetarian! The drinks system is irritating, having to stand in a queue just to get your card back seems silly. Overall I would return but I wouldn't bother with all inclusive again.

Please avoid this hotel. The noises coming from all rooms and also from the outside areas was constant. Could not sleep! Very thin walls could hear people going to the toilet! That bad! Also Very dated hotel. Unfriendly, unhelpful staff did hardly speak any English. The wait for the lifts to get to our room on the 4th floor was ridiculous every time any time of the day. Was asked to pay 20 euro for a remote control to access TV. No air-co. No internet or wifi facilities. The water in the swimming pools was quite dirty. Very poor hotel standards definitely not a 4stars hotel. Would never want to go back there! Awful experience and no sleep due to terrible noises. Also the beach was a bit of a walk! Go elsewhere!

I don't like writing bad reviews but on this hotel l have no choice my only problem is where to start? A couple of good points first where that the hotel is kept very clean and reception staff, l personal found helpful. Well to the bad points first night at hotel after a 24hr coach ride my wife and I decided we would have an early night so we where fresh for the following day well not a chance walked in to room like a flipping sauna try to put on air conditioning didn't work not a problem for one night we thought as l would speak to reception in morning jumped in to bed only to find my mattress was dead no spring at all just very lumpy and VERY UNCOMFORTABLE so first thing in morning we went down to reception and reported the mattress they told me not a problem that they will get house keeping to change it and o by the way way our air conditioning not working they told us that all the rooms had been turned off but they would look into it well after three days No sign of a mattress or air conditioning so I went to speak to reception again about my mattress and all they could do for me was to move us to another room l said the actual room is Mmm ok l just wanted a mattress but was getting nowhere just kept on saying we can put you in another room the following day l spoke to the hotel manager after speaking to him he spoke a lot of Spanish to reception staff and walked of how RUDE next day nothing had changed so we went out and bought a electric fan as the temperature was rising ,mattress we packed up with blankets walls very thin in rooms you hear everything and I mean EVERYTHING hotel very noisy at night up to around 1:30 pm people shouting and banging on doors seems to be a lot of young all male and female party's stopping at this hotel, only three very very slow lifts rooms could do with freshening up .Bars staff only one guy looked like he was happy and smiling the rest looked as though they had there back sides slapped, entertainment leaves a lot to be desired l could go on for a lot longer but by know l hope you can see that there are a lot better hotels around like the royal star, royal beach overall NO WAY CAN THIS BE A FOUR STAR HOTEL and the hotel manager should try managing the hotel and mingle with his holiday makers and do everything he can to resolve there issues. So take my advice and find a different hotel
