My friend and I booked an All Inclusive holiday here for a week. I read the trip advisor reviews with an open mind having read some very negative comments about the hotel. The flight from Bristol was quick and efficient and we were met at Girona Airport and directed to our coach. This was the only negative as the journey took 3 hours to our hotel with frequent stops to drop passengers off. However, when we finally arrived at the hotel the staff were welcoming and helpful. Our twin room was clean and spacious with a balcony overlooking the pool. The patio door catch was broken and the telephone didn't work but these were repaired with the minimum off fuss. The dining room was huge with attentive friendly waiters. The food was varied and plentiful for all tastes. I'm a strict vegetarian ( no meat or fish) and one evening when there was less choice for me the chef offered to make an omelette which was much appreciated. We thought the food offered was fantastic with plenty of hot, cold and an abundance of delicious fruit. There is a separate area in the dining room for getting drinks by showing your card which is issued on the day of arrival and can be used on check out day too. The dining room is busy but we never had to wait for a table. The waiting staff work really hard making sure plates etc are cleared and tables are left clean. With the All Inclusive card you can eat three main meals and have snacks in between ....amazing considering the price of the holiday. The pool is very small for the size of the hotel with only a couple of umbrellas available and people were queuing before 9am when the pool area opened. We spent our days at the beach. Cost for two at the Blue Bar cafe was 9 euros for two beds and a parasol.... 9 to 6.... a ticket was issued for the day so you could wander back for lunch at the hotel or shopping. This is a special discount between the hotel and cafe as the other beach bar cost 13 euros. Drinks were also discounted at the blue bar too. The train station is a 10/15 minute walk and whist there we visited Sant Pol one stop from Calella ...cost approx 4 euros. Worth a wander around the town. We also went to Barcelona for the day. Cost approx 10 euros. Journey takes about an hour. Easy Peasy journey along the pretty coastal route. Loved the day there. Had pre booked the hop on hop off bus and tickets for Gaudi's Segrada Familia which bypasses the long queues. Worth the visit...also wandered down the Ramblas. We decided not to take the coach back to the airport on our last day as the pick up was too early. The cost of taxis were given at the hotel which seemed high....so we arranged a taxi outside the hotel for 55 Euros. The journey took 40 minutes! All in all a perfect holiday with great weather. Plenty to do with shops close by. Loved it all. My tip is don't listen to the moaning Minnie's on here you won't regret it...have fun.

Amazing level of service. Pay the extra 12 euros a day to upgrade to Gold card, you will not regret it. The staff in the dining area, the entertainment people and especially the bar staff are first class. The hotel manager Snr Lopez is a true gent, nothing short of legend. The cleaning staff do a great job and are all friendly

Hotel is very well decorated and kept very clean, staff work very hard. Just a few minutes to the beach and a couple more to the town centre. We were there for 10 days. Pool is small and sunbeds scarce as the few there are hogged by people who put their towels on them and then are gone for hours at a time. Food was fresh and plentiful but wasn't really to our taste, we did eat lots of fruit and salad though, but found it difficult to find something to suit children. We were all inclusive and it took a while to get used to the card system, having 3 children it is frustrating to only be allowed 2 drinks at a time, even when ordering water we both had to go to the bar, cocktails are available for a small extra cost and are lovely, as is the beach bar where all inclusive customers get a discount. There are lot's of lovely places to eat in Calella so if staying here wouldn't recommend the all inclusive option, it is an hours easy journey to Barcelona on the train and the old town is lovely. The beach is very coarse more like tiny gravel stones and sore to walk on, the wrong kind for sand castles and the sea gets deep quickly so not ideal for young children. We did have a lovely holiday but this probably wasn't the hotel or resort for us.
