Were taken to room number 3474 by side of kids pool down a long corridor. Appearance was fine as good size veranda but within 24 hours we were visited regularly with cockroaches and last resort was day 5 with one massive one crawling up between bed whilst kids were sound. Got informed on day 3 they would treat it but didn't make a difference. Got moved no problem to high level and problem sorted. However looked onto another hotels garnish bins tho got sea views. Main restaurant crawling with flies over salad. Staff lovely which helped but night entertainment shocking so would not dream of going back. Never made replies on hotels but sorry this has many downsides and very isolated. Sorry to report this but it's a very hi oust review...

Having stayed here in October last year we returned with my mother to celebrate a rather special birthday. She loved her large room and everything about the hotel. The management continue to make improvements and we did appreciate the adults only pool because the hotel was very busy at the start of our holiday. One change which we did not consider beneficial was the reorganisation of dinner so that there were not two sittings. Before you were allocated a table at either the earlier or later sitting and this worked well. As stated by myself and others previously, at times staff cannot cope with the sheer numbers of guests in the bars and restaurants. This issue needs to be addressed by management as a matter of urgency. However, we had two very good holidays here before and would not hesitate to return- just not in the Easter holidays!

Far too many issues to be anywhere near five star resort. Let's start with positives, good variation on food and as you expect is repeated during the week in main restaurant but good choice of foods including freshly cooked steak and chicken. Good choice of paella and desserts! The Chinese restaurant was great, with the chicken and black bean and spicy beef a firm family favourite, we eat mostly here at night due to very good food and quick service but watch ordering prawn crackers as this is one of the starters ! So if you order prawn crackers this takes up one of your starter choices! The 5 star cinema is a hit very good and made our day when bored! Italian order fillet steak but be careful how you like your steak as they all come over cooked! You can order toasted sandwich, chips and cheese burgers, pizzas from poolside bar during the day but it closes when main restaurant opens for lunch but opens again after lunch is served. Staff in general very friendly and will serve drinks to you while you sit outside while singer is giving performance but you can use sports bar as well. We paid extra for premier all inclusive which gives you daily access to spa which was fab, and premier brands for drinks. This also meant we had dressing gown in room and coffee machine on arrival. Bali beds were fantastic we booked these for all 2 weeks and they were great for relaxing in and relief from sun at hot periods during the day. Now the negatives ! Please please sort the issue's on food being eaten by BIRDS and flies! Do you know about food hygiene !!!! This is not what I would expect in any 3 star restaurant but in what is being called 5 star it is not on! I went for breakfast on second morning only to find at hot food section in main restaurant three birds tucking into the eggs and bacon ! When this was reported to staff they shrugged their shoulders and the food was NOT changed , so everyone else ate this! At lunch time and dinner I refused to eat from salad and desert area which was circular area in middle of restaurant as it was covered in flies!! When we checked in we were taken to premier inclusive check in sounds great ? Not when you have sweat running down your back as there is no Air con, 5 star with no Air con in any of the restaurant eating areas ? You must be having a laugh! I have read other reviews and I respect they have their opinion but how can you rate this 5 star reading there is no Air con in any eating area on site or reception, no Air con in sports bar or any other bar! You have air con in your room when it works, on arrival we were allocated a room that had no Air con and the doors would not lock in patio! After reporting this and nothing was done we went to reception with war paint on, we were moved but so were so many people we met. People being double booked seemed very regular and was very worrying as some were moved three times in the first week due to this with a Bali bed being offered as a sorry! The life guard every day took beds from residents who were at the bar or in the pool and gave them to people who had just got out their bed at 10 am but the people who were wrongly had their beds taken were furious! To get a sun bed at this hotel be prepared to get up at 6 am to get one after this you were struggling, there is a very obvious shortage of beds to number of customers! Daily arguments between residents fighting over beds! The Italian restaurant, the beef fillet I ordered was medium rare I was given a lump of charcoal it was sooooo over done, the children's pizza when it arrived and the cheese was not even melted on it it and no colour to the base, must have had 30 seconds in oven . The starter in Italian Manu is self service with the main ordered to order, when we went to pick starter my wife opted for salmon with what she thought was herb salad but when she picked it up the herbs were FLIES!! This must be the dirtiest place I have ever eaten and it was certainly the hottest as nearly everyone was fanning themselves to keep cool but it was boiling hot! When people complained about heat they opened more windows and yes you got it More Flies was the result! Staff were often rude when you ordered premium brand wine or drink telling you you they did not stock this but when you pointed out you had paid for premium it was all of a sudden there after all. If you think I am being harsh I have stayed at two other 4 star hotels which wipe the floor with this hotel, please read reviews in these BEFORE booking its your choice and money but I know where I will be going next year. The hotel Barcelo thelaso Spa in fuerteventura or H10 Rubicon Palace lanzerote, these hotels have far superior food and every area of the the site is bird and free of flies but more importantly the air con is superb in all areas. Barcelo thelaso spa slightly better but it's a different world from dream Castillo. Sorry but true!

We have just returned from a weeks stay in this lovely Hotel, ( 21-28 July 15 ) & I must say that it was more than we expected. We travelled as a family, two adults & our 13 yr old twins. We were greeted with sparkling cava & orange juice at check in, the Hotel staff are lovely & nothing is too much trouble. We were taken to our room on a golf buggy after check in as our room was right up the top end over looking the kids pool. The only downside was trying to get a sun bed. The food was amazing with loads of choice. We would certainly go back.
