The hotel itself was the same, cleanliness excellent however the meals have changed, not as much choice. The receptionists were generally helpful aprt from one young lady who clearly could not be bothered with our requests. We were offered a picnic by the staff for a days outing as we were advised and this was very good however on our second outing the young lady in question refused our request saying we should not have been given it on the first trip it was only for large groups. She made no attempts to apologise, I was clearly an irritant to her, far more interested in her computer than to even give eye contact not what you would expect from a receptionist. This simple request and her outcome now means sadly we won't be returning for a four year, we can choose anywhere in Spain! Hotel staff and friendliness are very important to us when choice is so vast.

I stopped at the Vistamar from the 28thJune - 8thJuly. This was my second visit to the Vistamar and my fifth visit to to Benalmadena. Again we went half board, breakfast was fine but found dinner poor, not much choice. Our room was on the 6th floor facing the road. It was lovely and quiet with a sea view. The maids came in each day to clean and bring fresh towels. The staff were friendly, especially the staff in the restaurant and bar. They were so nice. The hotel was quiet with no noise. We could always get a sunbed no matter what time it was. For some reason the door half way down the hill had been shut since September and not in use. We had such a lovely holiday and are already looking to stop here again next year.

This was my second stay at the Vistamar. I visited here in July 2014 with my family and because the price was so reasonable we decided to stay here again this year. Pros: The hotel to look at is quite appealing as it is painted bright yellow despite it fading is instantly captivating. The hotel has a pleasant and calm environment perfect for those seeking a peaceful and restful holiday. No noise whatsoever. The staff in the restaurant were always friendly and pleasant. Always happy to greet you when entering the restaurant. The room itself just like last year was clean and spotless. The pool area is fine and a sizeable pool also. Cons: Despite already being aware that the food wasn't great from our visit last year. We decided to go half-board this year again because of the price being so good. The food standards have deteriorated even more slightly. Although you'd never come out hungry. There was just so little to choose from. The food was adequate for what your paying so I shouldn't really complain. Furthermore if your a fussy eater I recommend going half board should not be considered. one or two of the staff at reception came across slightly impolite. The hotel itself is situated halfway up a hill which isn't pleasant. Despite being in my early 20's I even find it a struggle especially in the blistering heat. Despite being aware of it as I visited here last year and stayed at the Benalmadena palace which is even further up a few times a few years back. The hill is not ideal but I suppose nothing can be done about it. If your'e looking for entertainment this place isn't the place to come to. There is very little entertainment however it isn't that type of hotel. However if you are looking for entertainment you are welcome to enter the sunset beach club hotel which is almost opposite the Vistamar which has singers on (Motown Tribute) that were quite good or Tazz (Motown Singer) who sometimes sings in the bars in Benalmadena and Torremolinos. Overall, I honestly enjoyed my recent stay at the Vistamar. The price is reasonable. Despite it not being located close to the Benalmadena marina perhaps a 30 minute walk. The walk itself is pleasant alongside the delightful beach. This was my 5th holiday to Benalmadena and will hopefully return again. There is always things to do in when visiting this part of the world. Such as taking a bus ride into Torremolions or Fuengirola or even a visit to Mijas a picturesque village on the mountain which has lovely views. Also excursions to Marbella and Gibraltar are also available.
