I stayed here with a friend and we had single rooms...big mistake, my room was like a student bedsit, no bedside table, no dressing table, no mirror (one in the bathroom which was too dark to see...
Good food, good service, very clean. 15 minute walk to the Marina.good bus route for Mihas. Restaurant can get very noisy and busy depending on when you go in there but always plenty of food and good choices.Swimming pool could be bigger and deeper for a proper swim. You have to put your towels on the sun beds early otherwise they are all taken up for the full day even if not used which is really annoying.good value for money.Room walls very thin could hear next door in the bathroom !

I stayed here with a friend and we had single rooms...big mistake, my room was like a student bedsit, no bedside table, no dressing table, no mirror (one in the bathroom which was too dark to see) not suitable for a week stay and not really suitable for females. Apart from the room though it is a great hotel, excellent location, walking distance to the Marina and beach, the buses are really easy to use, the driver will tell you when to get off if you ask. Hotel really clean with pleasant staff, food really good for a 3 star hotel not sure how anyone can complain, excellent choice and well cooked, theme nights too - Chinese, Turkish, carvery.. I didn't hear any complaints and rightly so. The pool area was nice, it was getting busy (mid June) so sunbeds were being reserved with towels and you had to get one before 11.00am. The entertainment was also good for a 3 star hotel, don't miss the flamenco dancers (and the 2.90euro cocktail of the day!). For a nice day out take a bus to the Butterfly Park and Stupa on the way back stop off at the Pueblo- an old Spanish village (any bus going to Mijas). Torremolinas is within walking distance or a short bus ride, much better shops and beaches than Benelmadena.
3 times we've stayed here and again can find no faults. Would recommend a superior room as better type, We were in 162. Great views out to sea. Staff excellent, nothing too much trouble, very helpful...
Firstly, I just want to note that I am not fussy. As long as the food is nice enough and the rooms are clean, I’m pretty happy. However, something that has never bothered me before when staying in hotels in Europe is the staff and how friendly and responsive they are to their guests….except for this hotel. Seriously, it’s as though YOU have to make the effort. We were lucky to get a smile out of the waiting staff, particularly the men (older men). Not sure what we were doing differently to the other guests that have written reviews about the politeness of staff, but there was definitely no sign of a welcoming demeanour as far as I was concerned. When we checked out, the conversation when something like this… Me & Mum: Hola Receptionist: Hola Me: We would like to check out, please. Receptionist: Ok *checks us out* Me & Mum: Thank you, bye. Receptionist: Bye Such a lovely way to end a holiday (this is sarcasm of course)! The only staff that seemed friendly were the cleaning staff…always saying hello when walking passed in the morning. Next, the food: – the food was edible, but a lot of it was dry and some of it tasted like it was a day or two old. A lot of it is cold and I saw one woman complain about how cold the spaghetti was for the spaghetti bolognaise. There isn’t much on offer but sometimes they do have themed nights and the Chinese they had one night was the best I’ve tasted. Desserts weren’t much to write home about, again, some were dry and stale. I don’t care whether there is British food, I’m in Spain, but I’d like it to have some taste…especially seeing as we ARE in Spain and right next to the sea! The olives were tasteless! Get better in Tesco’s. Cleanliness: Had no problems with cleanliness at this hotel. Very clean and rooms cleaned every day. Pool area and beach: Pool area is fine and we never had a problem getting a sunbed, although it was starting to get busy towards the end of our stay so this may be different if you go in July / August. Pools were lovely, although very salty tasting (not something I was bothered about). The beach is right across the road (if you go under the subway) and it’s lovely. Really lovely views and they have exercise machines dotted around so it’s great once you’ve eaten to go for a walk and burn some calories. Entertainment: Boring – there is definitely expense spared here. Spend your money on days out instead. Catch the bus to the Butterfly Park – only 10 euros for admission and it’s beautiful. There’s also a Buddhist temple next door which is interesting to take a walk around. Weather was beautiful – sunny every day and not a cloud in the sky. TV / wifi: I don’t go on holiday to watch tv and I think it’s ridiculous to complain about there not being enough English speaking channels. However, my mum does like to watch a bit of tv and we got a couple of English speaking channels, BBC 1 and another I can’t remember, also the news. Good if you like Antiques Roadshow. Wifi was fine and I had no problems logging in. Mosquitos: I’ve had problems with mosquitos before and they CAN ruin a holiday so I was anxious when I read reviews saying there were loads. I went prepared. I took plug-ins, wipes, roll-ons and wristbands. I only wore the wristbands for a couple of days and used the roll-on for my legs before going to bed. I think the main thing that helped were the plug-ins. Not sure what it would’ve been like without them but I only got bitten twice. I saw the mosquitos in the bedroom, in the lift and in the dining area but they weren’t a big deal. I feel, in a struggling economy (including in Britain), tourism is essential to help build it back up. Staff in hotels can make a big impact on business. I won’t be coming back here and I definitely won’t be recommending it. I will go back to Greece – much nicer people (even before their extreme debt crisis). “Bye”
We have been to this Hotel last year and had a brilliant time. The only fault we had this time were the mosquitoes, the dining room was alive with them for some reason this is something that needs...
3 times we've stayed here and again can find no faults. Would recommend a superior room as better type, We were in 162. Great views out to sea. Staff excellent, nothing too much trouble, very helpful and accommodating (if possible), Pool area huge, plenty sun loungers, great animation team, excellent pool bar and comparable prices, restaurant, spotless, plenty selection to suit all tastes. Siroco rep Maria very helpful, informative, and knowledgeable. Will be returning again next June
Year round, Benalmadena enjoys a mild, humid climate with hot, dry summers that typically range from 26 to 32° Celsius from May until August. The water temperature rarely drops below the low twenties in the summer, making it the ideal climate to catch a few rays or enjoy the clarity of the warm, blue waters off the coast.
