We've been going to Benalmadena for many years now and passed the Siroco many times as we walked along the main road. It's an unassuming hotel from the road view as all you see are the two gable ends...
Really didn't know what to expect after reading mixed reviews. I can honestly say we found the hotel to be fantastic. Lovely helpful staff, spotless room which was cleaned every day and fresh towels left. Our room was around the side of the hotel and we only saw 3 mosquitoes in it. Food was of a usual standard, some days you couldn't fault it others it wasn't too good but always looked after by brilliant staff. As the weather was quite cool( even though it was mid June ) we didn't use the pool but it looked very nice and clean and the grounds were also very well kept. The hotel is in a great position but quite a climb to reach it. We also got English TV in our room and free WiFi. We booked a trip to Gibraltar through reception and everything went to plan, if you haven't been I would highly recommend a trip there.
going back in sept having been in March and July can't wait In July we had a problem with our safe which took 3 days to resolve But reception staff were so helpful it was just a faulty door and...
We booked this hotel for a ten day family holiday, we ignored the bad reviews as most people do. On arrival early morning staff were ok but go slow (the theme through out our ten day). Food- decent can't complain, Rooms- clean with aircon but not suitable for 4 people ( two double beds in a small space), Communal areas- no aircon for the holiday makers, the only way to cool down if not in pool was to go into your room(the only aircon area besides the restaurant). We spent a lot of time in our room to cool off, play card or other family games (not acceptable as the reception staff had fans to keep them cool but nothing for the paying guests. Entertainment- don't bother, we spent most nights at Mullarkeys bar listening to live music, catered for kids(Spanish, as most were Spanish families). Snack bar not much to choose from if you don't like pizza, cheese and ham toastie that is it. On a positive note the area is lovely, the marina and shops at walking distance, plenty of shops and bars, bus stop to Torremolinos, Fuengirola and other areas just down the road from hotel price 1.55 euros each way. I would go back but stay at a different hotel(4*) as this is only a 3* ,I would only give it a 2 star as I found some staff were deliberately ignoring English holiday makers when waiting to be served, which happened a lot and we made a point in taking notice just to make sure it wasn't our imagination.

My partner and I booked for us and our 12 year old daughter to stay for 10 nights at this hotel. On arrival we were put in a twin room!! No air con working either in 38 degree heat. All staff were rude except for the maids. Same food served daily. If you didn't get to the restaurant on time the queue was unbelievable and if you go half board or B&B you have no choice but to wait. You could wait half hour as it was one in one out. If you sat at a 4 person table you'd be asked to move... No 3 person table set! Occasionally they would do a Turkish/Spanish night and vary the menu. Entertainment the same night after night. A lot of Spanish holiday here in huge groups- bar staff would wait on their tables in the evening. Wouldn't do this for us we were instructed to go to bar!! Would never stay here again...EVER. 3 star....how they managed this I will never know. This hotel needs to appreciate that families come from all over to stay and being greeted by a grumpy, abrupt, rude receptionist doesn't make a good first impression. People want to enjoy their holiday and have fun, relax and enjoy their food... If that's you don't stay here. They all need some serious training on basic manners- which costs nothing. Pool was small- and unless you wake at 6am to reserve a sun bed you won't get one- management state they don't allow this to happen and the life guard can move your towels - but he doesn't start until 10am. Useless. I visit Benalmadena several times a year and thought I'd be clever and avoid cardiac hill. More fool me! Shame but I won't be staying here again.

Firstly I would not choose a hotel on this size but due to travelling with my partner and his children we thought half board and lots going on for the young ones would be better this holiday. The room was fine and the hotel foyer was nice. The gardens were lovely as was the pool area. I was surprised by the room in the restaurant and although at times busy we did not have to queue. The food offered was a varied choice and I think it would be hard for someone to not find something they liked. I read previously people complaining about having to walk to the other side of the room for things. Basically that is just moaning for the sake of it. Food - breakfast was cereal, fruit, bread, croissant, salad, cooked meat, cheeses and then a hot selection. Evening meal option- salad, cold meat, fishes, meat, hot dogs, burgers, grilled meat and each evening had isle based on a theme- eg, Mexican, turkish, Spanish etc foods. My ONLY complaint was we were asked to sit in a particular area -table for four and at the time there was not one so we sat in the area we had been directed to. The table was for more than four and the manager then seemed unhappy as I tried to explain all the tables there were taken. This happened on another evening but a member of staff sat us on a table of six and we were again asked to move. I did not mind where I was asked to sit but being told to sit on one table then asked to move was a nuisancve. Very enjoyable break and a lovely walk to the marina- not too far.
