Just returned from a week at this resort had a real great time. we arrived early morning and didn't expect to check in to our room until afternoon but we were allowed to check in straight away which was good. Are room was ok nothing special just a basic room with 2 double beds next to each other, not enough storage space for 4 people in a room but we got around that. The only problem we had with the room was the plug sockets and light switches right at the back off the bed behind pillows so most off the time when your moving or turning over you would turn the light on which after a few times was quite annoying this was because a double room had obviously been turned in to a family room which is why sockets were being covered .. The bathroom had bath and shower and was a good size.maids done a very good job did request some extra pillows as pillows were flat but were told they didn't have any more. We went all all inclusive and as fussy eaters we all found something we liked which was good. The snacks in between meal times weren't the best could do with a little bit more choice, deep fat fryer was broke so there was no chips for the first few days and we're always running out off vanilla icecream and only ever had plain crisps, gets bit boring after a bit. Pool is a bit small that was one concern we had prior to holiday but it was not as bad as we expected. Sunbeds we always managed to get a couple off sun beds, there is signs up saying sun beds not allowed to be reserved but it still happens and nothing gets done about it but hey ho I got my bed without any problems 😊 entertainment staff really friendly and happy in there jobs although need to do few more activities through out the day, night time entertainment not the best no atmosphere needs something bit more lively and exciting. Bar staff most were really happy and friendly. Requested a packed lunch for a day out which sadly just got wasted you don't get a choice therefore we had a ham cheese and mustard sandwich a battered Apple a yogurt which was warm and a bottle off water. We would happily return to this hotel but think a few changes would benefit this hotel.

Just got back from a weeks stay here. It was fantastic. Although the hotel was family based my partner and I have a brilliant time. rooms were cleaned everyday. Pool area with a bit small and if you wanted a sun bed you have to queue for about 10 mins until the pool opened at 10. Life guard was great with the kids. Food was ok could always find something to eat. Friendly staff throughout the hotel. But most of all the animation team were the best. Jorge and DiDi were amazing with both kids and adults. Always getting everyone involved. I would definitely come back here in the near future. Also short walk to the beach and bars. Couldn't say one bad word about this hotel.

We stayed in the hotel a couple of weeks back. We arrived at the hotel late about 2am in the morning so were exhausted. Check in was a nightmare! We entred the Playa de oro and after a lot of fuss was told that another man was coming to collect us as we were to be staying in the sister hotel next door. So after waiting for the man to arrive we walked the short walk to the hotel across the road named Villa Dorrada. We where greeted by another male who again took our details. The two men where speaking to one another in Spanish for around 20 minutes! The man then informed me that I needed to pay €7 for my room key! I don't know why after paying so much to stay at the hotel in the first place you would think you're room key would be included in the price! He also wanted €20 for the remote for the air conditioning which we declined to pay. We where then informed we weren't even staying there but down the road in a self catering apartment! But as we where half board we could come back to the hotel to eat! The self catering apartments was basic with a camp bed in the bedroom and one very small wardrobe with 3 hangers and no draw space. There wasn't even a safe in the apartment. It was dirty and had the most awful sewer smell coming from the bathroom! The next morning we went back up the road to Playa de Oro to find out why we had been moved as we had booked to stay in that hotel and it was stated on our travel documents. They basically told us it wasn't their problem. So after speaking to Thomas Cook whom we booked with and them get in touch with the company they reluctantly agreed to move us into the correct hotel! So that was the first day of our honeymoon completely ruined! We where much happier in Playa de Oro for one it didn't have that awful sewer smell coming from the bathroom and was a much much nicer hotel compared to the apartment. Although the reception desk staff where rude at times. The pool staff, entertainment staff and the bar staff where very friendly and helpful. The food was average some lovely items and some not very nice luke warm dishes. The week did start out like a nightmare but we did enjoy ourselves. I would like to say I would return but in reality I wouldn't incase they tried to put us else where again. I would of gave an extra star if it wasn't for the disaster start to the week! I have posted a photo of our lovely room in the Playa de Oro and photos from the awful apartment down the road!

We were skeptical when we booked this given some of the reviews on trip advisor, that said we booked it anyway as all inclusive for us and our 4 year old son and 8 year old daughter. We arrived in Reus airport approximately 10 minutes from the hotel and were picked up by John an English taxi we had booked at http://www.touchdowntours.co.uk/. Transport to the hotel was quick and comfortable with John giving us good recommendation of places to visit whilst we were in Salou. We arrived at the hotel and reception were quick and polite and we were given a room on the 5th floor with a view of the bay in Salou. The room was basic but clean and had 2 double beds, and a large wardrobe. For a base which is what we needed it for the room was ample for our requirements. The room was cleaned daily by very friendly staff who were happy to wait if you weren't ready for the room to be cleaned. The only very small criticism of the room we had is there was no consistency in the number of towels you were given and occasionally they forgot to replace the toilet paper. That said a quick wander to reception and they immediately ensured this was put right usually within 15 minutes so not a game changer. The room came with free air con which for us worked and on some occasions worked a little to well and we had to turn it off as the room was so cold. The restaurant was very good with lots of Spanish cuisines to try along with your basic pasta, salads and soups. I have read a varying number of reviews on here about the food but we always managed to have a good meal. Occasionally you would have to queue to wait to get into the restaurant but it was peak season and the staff dealt with you as quickly and efficiently as they could. There was a large choice of food at breakfast, lunch and dinner which was all nicely displayed and tasted good. We were always shown to a table quickly and if a table was still dirty from a previous family eating by the time we had got a bowl of soup it had a fresh table cloth and was ready for us to dine. The bar although small was very good and we personally didn't have to wait very long to get served either during the day or night. All the soft drinks available were branded and the lager was San Miguel and bottled water, the kids loved the slushi drinks and plates of crisps which were included along with pizza, hot dogs, chips and hamburgers which were all available when the restaurant wasn't open. The staff were friendly and always served you as quick as they could, and were happy to have a chat and laugh with you during quite times. The pool is small and sunbeds limited, that said we would go down to the pool at 10:15 and always managed to get sun loungers. If you know the pool is busy and you want a sun lounger then you should be prepared to secure one yourself. The space is limited and to many sunbeds just wouldn't fit. Our kids loved the small child's pool and spent most of the holiday in it, which nicely falls under the shade of trees during the hottest part of the day so they don't get burnt. One of the best parts about this hotel is Didi and Jorge the entertainment team, I have never stayed in a hotel with an animation team as enthusiastic as these guys. Jorge was relentless in getting you involved in activities during the day such as ping pong, pool and darts sometimes even with a prize of bubbly at the end or Sangria. Jorge really got involved and during the darts game if you didn't get a certain score set by him you had to jump in the pool, if you got a bullseye he had to and he did lol. Didi was great with both kids and adults and really got you involved not taking no for an answer in any of the entertainment. The evening entertainment as good with outside entertainers. If your booking this hotel it is important to know this is not a UK package holiday hotel and is visited by many nationalities. The hotel is Spanish and caters as such, we had a really good week and enjoyed every minute.
