Having enjoyed a meal in the dinning room this evening at the Hotel El Paso and thought we'd retire to the main bar to play cards with the kids and my wife and I enjoy a brandy after dinner but we were met with the rudest bar maid ever. Ordered the brandy only to be given whiskey , not a problem asked the young lady Feli who serviced me that I'm sorry think you've given me whiskey not brandy, she then proceeded to throw a bottle on the bar and shouted to the queuing crowd this guy doesn't know the difference between whiskey and brandy before laughing in my face and walking off. Really pee'd me off and a as person who travels full time with work around the world to some far off places I've never found such a rude person in a hotel. Spoken to manager but hope you have a better experience, hope they can sort the staff out,

Stayed here sept 2014 . Family of 4 children 4 + 5 at the time . We had a great time at El Paso check in took 10 minutes ( probably because I read the reviews and ran off the bus and got hubby to get suitcases ). Hotel room was lovely . Only down side was bunk bed was like concrete . But we stayed in main part of hotel . Food was fine loads of choice . Pool was lovely and always got a sun bed. There was lots of flies by the outside food area but most food was covered . There are 3 resterants to eat at in portaventure , la cantina was closed every time we went to eat there . So we ate at bora bora most times . I would advise fast pass if you plan to spend the day time up the park . The shuttle is a god send . I didn't think much of costa caribe but hotel pool was fine for us . 5 mins drive to salou town . ( taxi was 10 euros each way !) . So try to get the free bus when you can. They have mosquito plug ins at desk so ask for one if needed. Over all we had a fantastic holiday . We haved booked for 10 nights next year when the Ferrari land is open .

This Hotel is ideal if you want the parks at Portaventura as its only a 10 min walk away from the entrance or there is also a free bus/train to the park. First the bad for the hotel the entertainment is very poor one of the worst i have had mainly just sesame characters and one quiz show type thing .now to the food hmmm if your a fussy eater you might struggle the food is ok if you like the same two meats veal or chicken there is always fish on or salads but strangley the only potatoes they serve are chips even for breakfast and apart from the Tv not having more than two english type channels thats the only bad points the staff are very helpfull and friendly when you realise there is not a massive ammount of english language but at least they do better than most of my spanish the hotel is spotlessly clean as was our room if you have kids its a great hotel our bedroom was on the front just above reception but it was still quiet the balconies are very small only for a quick look out really nice big beds in the room with good mattresses i slept like a log there was 3 of us in the room myself my wife and my son who is 21 and we all had plenty of room and storage if you want the beach and salou town it is quite a walk away around half an hour someone i spoke to got a taxi back to the hotel and it was 12 euros and dont forget if you go to Salou or the area there is a hotel tax to pay when you arrive at your hotel it varies as to what rating the hotel has we paid around 25 euros for the three of us for a week so remember to take some cash if i can help anymore i think you can message me here

Booked hotel with Jet2 holidays in February and requested inter-connecting rooms direct with Jet2 AND with the hotel (in an email in Spanish). Surprise, surprise on check in, we had not been assigned such rooms. Apparently, when I pushed on the matter, the manager was going to try and see what they could do so we waited for an hour and a half. On our return to reception, there were none available. Why oh why can a hotel of this size not accommodate a request with over 3 months notice ? I totally understand that things are not always available but I think my original request was simply ignored - surely if they had paid any attention to the email then they simply could have mentioned at check in that they had tried but simply couldn't accommodate it ? Ggrrr - so no inter connecting rooms and am, instead, in the first room by the entrance to the block of rooms ('punishment' for my repeated request?) with a vending machine directly outside too. Needless to say it sounds like a party in my room and I am definitely a party poop tonight. Snr Director de hotel, I will be paying you a visit in the morning. Rant over (until tomorrow). By the way, I am a repeat customer to portaventura hotels. Hotel Caribe were accommodating of my request last year but seems El Paso either don't have inter connecting rooms (in which case, say so) or don't value their repeat customers. H10 for me next time
Despite the number of sunny days that Salou basks in year round, the temperatures are not as intense as other destinations such as the Costa del Sol, with temperatures routinely ranging from between 20° Celsius and 26° Celsius from May until late August. The cooling breeze from the Mediterranean takes the edge off the worst of the humidity – perfect for working on that tan!
As UK, Courses or boosters sometimes advised: hepatitis A (not normally for package tourists).
