15th June - 24th June. For what you pay the hotel is fine. The staff are exceptionally friendly on reception nothing too much trouble. As a single I had a twin room which I would think was ample space as you only sleep in it. Entertainment fair but not brilliant. What I liked as a 65 year old woman alone the guests were very friendly and included you in their company no snobs. The only downside was the food I have to admit I have stayed in many 3* hotels in Spain and found this one to be below par, there was no variation and for a none meat eater not many alternatives. Potatoes were hard in the middle and the sweets were the same every meal. As I said I met some lovely people and enjoyed their company. If you want 4* the sister hotel at Santa Sussanna is just up the road. I spent a day there the food was excellent but the atmosphere and friendliness was certainly lacking. So you only get what you pay for. Just take a kettle with you. You can hire hair dryer or iron there. If you take notice of all the bad reviews I will say the friendliness outways the food.

UPON ARRIVAL We booked a 10 day all inclusive holiday here for me, my mum, my husband and 3 1/2 year old son. Upon arrival the hotel from the outside looked clean so was upbeat and excited to start our long awaited holiday. However this was short lived. When we got to our room there was a double bed and two single beds... (Awkward) so we went to reception and asked if there were any bigger rooms... She just shrugged here shoulders and said no that was the biggest, she looked shocked that this was a problem and just looked at us gone out. Anyway, we got used this and just accepted it, after all it was our first holiday in 5 years so we were determined to enjoy it. The bathroom had no bath mat so when we showered the whole bathroom got soaked because we couldn't use the shower curtain due to it being mouldy and filthy so had to use towels to mop up the excess water every night. ENTERTAINMENT The main reason we chose this hotel was for the entertainment for the children (if you could call it that) there was a " mini disco" at 9 held by two reps who just danced with the kids there was no games or entertainment as such they just put music on and danced with them. The room where the entertainment was held was tiny so if everyone wanted to watch it they had no chance! It is an all inclusive hotel and therefore most people stay at the hotel for the night and there was hardly enough chairs and tables for a quarter of them. The entertainment to be fair was good overall for the adults so can't complain about that but would just have been nice to sit and watch in comfort instead of standing up and feeling Iike you were blocking everyone else's view. SECURITY The outside area is not very secure for young children either at night... There is a gate which remains open all night allowing children to venture up and, if they are daring like mine, go out the gate and there is a main road straight outside and a couple of suspicious youths were asked to move away from the gate so was constantly chasing him round keeping him away from there. There is also the security of the swimming pool or lack of it, at night they just put a sunbed (easily climbed over by a 3 year old who can't swim) so again was constantly on the look out that he didn't go near there. CARD SYSTEM / DRINKS The next problem we encountered was the card system, what a farce that was. What happened to the wrist bands when in an all inclusive hotel?!! The receptionist gave us 8 cards when we arrived and didn't explain anything about them we just had to work it out ourselves when we went to the bar for our first drink. The bar staffs English was very limited also so sometimes had problems ordering drinks. When you order another drink you have to take the very small plastic cups back to the bar (basically doing there job for them)...... The cups are so small you are constantly up and down at the bar. FOOD BREAKFAST - can't complain about the breakfast to be fair it was fresh and there was plenty of choice but dont be expecting real bacon or sausages, it was like eating ham and hot dog sausages but if you like that sort of thing you will be fine. There was also cereals (very cheap quality) and fruit on offer. SNACKS Now where to start here.... When we arrived, we had been travelling since 5am and didn't arrive until 4.30 so we were looking forward to the snacks on offer... There were some very very dry chewy burgers, dry frizzled up chips and some hard bread rolls. Little did we know this was what they served everyday for "snacks" and were always disgustingly dry like they had been there all day even when you get in there early so must have been from the day before. DINNER - this was very hit and miss.... Sometimes it was ok and we would have pork chops and potatoes etc the next day it would be ravioli which was very gooey made with the chops minced up from the day before (you just knew). The soup they served up was very nice and my son lived on this whilst we were there apart from when they tried to serve up cabbage soup, it was more like water with cabbage in it! I am all for being conservative with food but you could just tell they had made the next meal with the left overs from the first one. TEA - again very repetitive as above lots off pasta and rice, which yes is good for you but gets a bit boring after 10 days! PUDDING - there were tubs of ice cream on offer with fruit but the cake and puddings left a lot to be desired. It was either dried up cake from the day before or this weird stuff that looked like jelly every day! There was also this multi coloured jelly if you wanted it again everyday..... Overall the food was bland a boring so be prepared to go out and pay for your food a couple of times you literally eat because you have to, I dont think I left the restaurant "full" once. The queuing system at dinner was ridiculous there are so many people and everyone goes to meals at the same time but the restaurant can't take the amount if people in the hotel so you can be stood waiting for ages to get in and when you have a hungry 3 year old, that can be a bit distressing. The staff in the restaurant were lovely and if you have children they make a real fuss. They are also very quick at clearing your plates so don't put your fork down because they will take your plate! The barman in the restaurant however speaks NO English AT ALL. If you like a cup of tea in a morning like me and are an early riser you can't get a cup of tea until 8 when you go down to breakfast, there are tea / coffee making facilities at the bar but it doesn't open till 10am and you can't take tea/ coffee out of the restaurant so have to wait until opens if you want another one. CLEANLINESS OF THE HOTEL - this was about the best thing about the hotel. Rooms were cleaned everyday and fresh towels were given and toilet roll put in your room, beds made etc.... The cleaners work very hard and although dated the rooms were clean and the corridors were also mopped everyday. The swimming pool was hosed down and cleaned every morning and very thoroughly. The rooms were just very dated so that just let them down. The tv in your room has one English channel "CNN" now I know you aren't in your room much but when you are it's nice to watch a bit of tv especially when you have children so take a tablet or something for them to watch something on there. There is WiFi available throughout the hotel however, this is not free as you might expect from an all inclusive hotel. There are no hairdryers or iron in your room as advertised you have to pay for these if you want them so make sure you take them with you. The balcony is so small that only two people can sit on there at any one time so if there is a group of you hoping to have a couple of drinks on there forget it! Sorry this review is so long but there are mixed reviews on here. Some saying that people are just being fussy but a big part of an all inclusive holiday is the food and this was terrible. The transfer times from Barcelona airport are also very missleading if you go on the bus. It says 1 hour.... This is true if you are in a taxi. If you go on the bus it is more like 2 hours - 2 1/2 hours due to drops at other hotels you go up the hills and down the dales so be prepared for this because we wasn't. If you are young and just want a crazy holiday by all means this would probably be ok for you because the drink is free flowing and the food is very basic but if you have kids I would not recommend it. And if you want to eat nice food avoid it like the plague. There are plenty of lovely cheap bars around that sell lovely food so go self catering you will have a much better experience. I really dont know how this hotel has kept its three star rating it's more like a 2 star and for people thinking I am being fussy, I have stayed in a two star hotel in kavos, Greece and it was better than this which is saying something, for anyone that's been there will know what I mean! Thanks for reading :)

We were welcomed and checked in by a fantastic guy on reception, so far so good, but found our room to be the smallest we've ever seen, twin beds pushed together which you could just about walk around, good sized wardrobe and tiny bathroom....incidentally the shower was so powerful I managed to flood the room due to shower curtain not going full length of the bath! The restaurant was too small for number of guests, with long queues for every meal time, doesn't matter because you'll probably want to eat out a lot, to say the food is bad is an understatement....every lunch and dinner was more or less the same, pork, chicken and fish, all on the bone and not very inviting looking, all bland tasting, one small tray of veg, obviously chips and plain pasta with optional tomato sauce, puddings were rice,crème caramel and jelly and ice cream! All drinks are served in small plastic beakers, don't know how people managed to get drunk! On our last day we were being picked up at 6 but were informed that all inclusive ends at noon!Entertainment was dire, bingo, karaoke, a couple of dodgy singers. One morning we were woken by banging from next room, came back late afternoon to find a hole we could look through between our rooms, went to reception who said no one is next door and they couldn't get anyone to clear the small pile of rubble from our floor, the next day the hole was filled with rubble from the other side and when we left 3 days later our pile was still in our room despite the maids cleaning every day!
Couldn't find any fault with this hotel at all the food was very good the rooms were clean &tidy, the staff were very polite & most helpful. I felt like I was wanted there. It was a lovely holiday...
