We stayed here as a family in June 2012, and absolutely loved it. We went All Inclusive with Thomas Cook, and couldn't fault it. The hotel isn't a 5 star hotel so you obviously can't expect it to be spotless. The apartments are perfectly acceptable, although probably a few little cracks and marks on the walls etc. It can get a bit noisy since it's popular for hen nights etc., and a couple of times we were disrupted by young groups coming to party, but it all depends on the people who are there when you go - all about luck really. The food was incredible. Such a wide variety and always plenty of it being replenished. The entertainment was one of highlights, and even the adults join in with the popular Mini Disco before the real entertainment begins. Entertainment is different every night, with things like Quiz Night, Flamenco Night, Musicals Nights and Peter Pan plays. During the day, you can join in on the archery, rifle shooting, yoga, Zumba, sports etc. or dancing in the pool (or just relaxing). The staff were all really lovely, from the reception staff to the cleaners to the entertainment team and bartenders. Come to think of it, one of them was rather grumpy (Pedro at the bar) but not so much so that it ruined our holiday. The beach is right across the road which is perfect for an early morning swim, but during the day, the wind does tend to blow the sand a lot, so not many people were on the beach during the day when we stayed. Take the bus 20 minutes into the town of Mojacar, which is a great visit for an afternoon and you get some stunning views as the bus goes up the winding hills. There's a little supermarket if you go out of the hotel and turn left (walk 1-2 minutes), and there's also a mini market within the hotel complex itself and various souvenir shops. Outside the hotel and turn right and you'll come across a few different restaurants (which we wanted to try but didn't bother since we were all inclusive). Overall, a great stay and definitely recommended. Some people on our coach back to the airport were complaining about how it was the worst hotel they'd ever stayed in, but we had a brilliant time!

Me and my boyfriend booked a week all inclusive here with Thomas Cook in September 2014. The apartment was very spacious, we had 2 bedrooms and a sofa bed in the living room... enough room for 6 people!! It was clean and had everything we needed although we had to hire a kettle from the reception area. My boyfriend is a very fussy eater but could always find something in the restaurant that he liked! I thoroughly enjoyed the themed nights were there was Indian and Turkish food also available!! All the entertainment was in Spanish, but the majority of guests were Spanish, and we still managed to get involved joining in with the aerobics and other activities, and there were plenty of bars nearby within walking distance! The beach is across the road, where you should definitely buy a snorkel!! The fish there are lovely!! There wasn't much to do during the day but if you're happy to sit around in the sun with books and food and drink then its perfect for you!! I would definitely recommend this for a relaxing couple holiday!!
The weather is near-perfect for holidays in Mojacar as Costa Almeria is officially the driest area in Europe, making rainfall rare in winter and almost unheard of during the summer months. The mild Mediterranean climate means winter temperatures that rarely drop below 20° Celsius, peaking around a fabulous 30° Celsius in the summer months. That, and the average of 320 days of sunshine each year, makes Mojacar holidays ideal any time of the year.
As UK, Courses or boosters sometimes advised: hepatitis A (not normally for package tourists).
