Iberostar Playa de Muro Village is a beautiful hotel set near Alcudia directly at a very nice beach. This place ist just perfect for families. We don't like Clubhotels so we choosed this one. The food is outstanding! People at the hotel are super friendly and they love kids! Everything is perfectly organized. There were some older people complaining about the kids, so I don't know why they booked this family friendly hotel. There are so many adults only hotels in Mallorca, just choose another one if you hate kids. Most families go to dinner from 18:30-20:00 if you love it more quiet just do it like the spanish people go to dinner at 8 P.M. There are several shops just 5 min walk away where you can buy water and other stuff. For breakfast you can sit at the beach restaurant if you want, the view is awesome!! The only small minus point is that you can't eat lunch at the beach if you don't have fullboard. But you can get a sandwich at the Spar or eat at a restaurant in Alcudia or near the hotel. The pool isn't very big, but who needs a pool with that beautiful beach in front? German people were reserving sunbeds for 4hours, lucky we were there in june so it wasn't fullybooked and we still got sunbeds. We really loved this peaceful and friendly hotel very much.

Despite asking for a quiet room upon reserving and being told we'd be on the ground floor because we had a toddler, we ended up in a room fairly close to the main street traffic out front, and on the first floor, which, in a hotel with no elevators, was quite annoying having to take our son out of the stroller every time we went in and out of the room, or even if he was walking, to have to pick up the stroller and lift it up and down the stairs every time. We were offered a change of room once we complained about the traffic noise, but were told that the alternative room might have more noise from the nightly entertainment, so we stuck with the traffic noise, especially having arrived late at night with a toddler who needed to get to bed it, would have been too much to have to delay the settling in and wait for all our stuff to be moved again. A few nights in, we discovered there was an ant infestation in our bedroom (shocking to me given the price we paid to stay at this resort). The hotel sent a cleaning lady into our room that night with a toxic bug spray, which of course (thankfully) when she noticed there was a crib in the room, she said there was no way she would use the spray, so she cleaned the walls, floors and ceilings where the ants were crawling with a mop and mild detergent. The next morning when we woke up, the ants were back, so the hotel said they would clean the room again and try to resolve the source of the ants during that day. Well again, upon arrival in our room that following night, we noticed the ant situation was still bad in our room, at that point we were told we could go sleep in another room because there was nothing they could do for the night. So off we went, grabbed some essentials, the cot and slept in another room. The next day our room was apparently sprayed while we were out and the problem seems to have been resolved for the most part but not without two disruptive nights and loss of sleep for us and our son as a result. There are only two restaurants in the hotel (one buffet indoors and one outdoors, where the food is exactly the same). There is a sushi bar in the lobby which seemed empty every night but somehow you have to reserve the night before. I went in one night to look at the menu and it looked like a very limited menu to me, a few maki rolls and a few other sushi options, so we didn't bother. There is an a la carte menu by the pool/beach where you can order sandwiches or burgers but they basically get the food from the above-mentioned buffet and bring it over to you (ex. a plate of nachos came from the buffet and the burger I had was exactly the same as the one I had in the buffet). So, all in all, despite having spent a lot of money on the all inclusive package by the later part of the week we were so sick of the food we started going out to restaurants for dinner. There was just no enough variety throughout the week. The mini club activities seemed ok for children older than 3 years of age, but for toddlers (ours was 2 at the time of the trip) there was surprisingly little to do. There was a so called "baby club" where we could go and hang out with our respective children which was in a nice shaded part of the garden by the pool, However, there was exactly one toy to play with (with missing essential part), one floor mat for really small babies to lie on, and one foam floor mat that would be placed on the grass every day even though there was nothing to do/play on it. The kids were obviously creative and started using the pieces of the floor mat to build stuff with as there was nothing else to do it seemed. Older kids sat at a table and drew for much of the time or got their faces painted, etc, but there was miserably little for a toddler. After seeing this, we brought our own toys for our son to play with in the baby club area. I'm surprised a hotel of this size wouldn't invest a couple hundred euros (even less) to have a few more toys or toddler friendly activities available. Toddler pool is very tiny. Hotel advertises they rent bikes on site but only racing bikes, not family friendly bikes, with child seat, this was very disappointing and felt like false advertising as the hotel website says they rent "any kind of bikes". People put towels down to reserve beds all day long that then appeared to go unused all day long. PR said they were trying to stop guests from doing this but I saw no signs of this. Hotel lobby is very bare and depressing. The lobby of the neighboring four star Playa De Muro hotel is much, much nicer than this "5 star" hotel's lobby. On the plus side: The service was good in that they did try hard to accommodate requests - ex. we had asked for a high chair in our room, which the hotel did leave, but the high chair had no tray, and since there was no table in the room at the right height, this meant the high chair could not be used for feeding our toddler his meals. When we asked for a tray, I was surprised to learn there was not a single high chair with tray in the entire hotel (they use the standard ikea high chairs which are sold with separate tray attachments), however, the hotel rentend one for us, and it arrived in our room the next day. I find it amazing that a "family friendly" hotel had to rent such a thing, but the fact that they did speaks to their willingness to try to provide a good service. I liked the view right onto the sea from the outdoor restaurant, at which we often went for lunch, dinner and drinks.
