Great golf courses around area. Hotel was well appointed in a very central location in the heart of the old town. Staff very good. All rooms nice and comfy with a balcony overlooking the beach. Breakfast was included, self service. Worth getting up for if not too hungover after "Golf and drinks". Only a stones throw from the old town square. There also seemed to be a lot of older couples staying here. Maybe they found it romantic. Hotel bar--- Did'nt bother. A bit twee for me. Plenty of lively bars nearby.

The hotel was clean but basic. Breakfast was quite good but the evening meal was lacking in good choice and the dining room was very hot. The windows could not be opened and the air con was only turned on at my request. My husband and I decided to eat out at the great choice of restaurants in the town. This is supposed to be a 4 star hotel but is only worthy of 3 stars. The bedrooms could do with modernising especially the antiquated air con units. The corridors to the bedrooms were dimly lit and drab. The staff were very friendly and the outside bar on the beach level, serving snacks and lunches was excellent.

When we entered the lobby it was like stepping back into the 70s. Initially we liked the retro look, but soon realised that this also came with retro overall performance. On the sunny side: The only real asset of this hotel is its proximity to the beach for the rate charged; The personnel was friendly and service-minded throughout our stay; we even had the possibility to take a shower in the pool area prior to our late afternoon departure Close to the old town Seaview from all rooms, we enjoyed the sound of the waves. On the shadier side: The place is in dire need of renovation at all levels; Bed "comfort" was abysmal and we left with some significant sleep deficit after our four-day stay; Furnishings are old and worn throughout the facility; the elevators make a lot of noise and their appearance is not very reassuring safety-wise No in-room wifi (however available in the public areas) Very uninviting breakfast offerings and presentation- we always ate out There was often a nasty sewage smell in the bathroom. In room safe uses a key that you need to carry around; Very annoying that rooms are not equipped with key cards. You are expected to leave the room key at the reception every time you go in or out. Also only one key per room which required some planning... Overall an acceptable alternative if your main objective is to be close to the beach and you don't mind putting up with the blues of a worn and dated facility.
