We stayed here from 8th -18th Jan on a B&B basis and had booked a "side sea view" room. What a pleasant surprise, we were given a room on the ground floor of block D at the end of the building. It...
This hotel is good value for what we paid , it is a bit dated and tired but is clean the beds are comfortable. The views were great of the beach and old town from our apartment. If you want good breakfast try a cafe called the Hot Spot which is just up the road and in the evening try Wild and co. Overall if you want a short break or a week in the sun this is a good base to do what you want.ps if your going to explore try the ticket shop opposite the hot spot cafe it is cheaper than the hotel

Me and my Husband came here in February ( 23th -28th) for a short break, like many others we had read the reviews and went with an open mind. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble from check in to check out, The food on the whole was very good always lots of choice and it was hot. The Entertainment guys were very friendly and we would recommend the morning walk if you would like to learn a bit about the Algarve. I would say it is not suitable for people with mobility problems as there are lots of steps, but great location, great base and lovely views. If you want 5 star then pay 5 star prices!

Best hotel by far! From check in to check out wow!! Staff amazing couldn't do more for you, hotel spotless. You get your money's worth... Like a lot of you I went through the reviews and saw the horrific reviews and was almost cancelling my stay but I'm so glad I didn't.. If your a snob go stay in a five star hotel don't bother coming to this hotel sticking your nose up at everything.. The lunches and dinners are buffet so are kept in bambree so if you like your food hot hot come early or sit and wait for the dishes to be topped up.. Working in a kitchen myself it's impossible to keep carvery hot so please under stand this simple fact. They have microwaves there if you like your food hot hot so use them. As for the "cranky barman" yes I thought so too first time he served me but I decided to stand aside for five minutes and listen to the stupid questions and condescension he has to but up with I dunno how he keeps his cool with some of the guests I was even getting angry myself listening to what he has to put up with off other guests. Crack a joke with him give him a euro tip and by god he is the nicest guy ever!! He will crack jokes and have banter. Rooms are spotless cleaning ladies are lovely. Rooms are a bit dated but hello it's a three star hotel that you have paid very little for. As for the wifi ya it's slow but it made me realise that back ten years ago we didn't have wifi so go away enjoy your holiday enjoy the pool and beach instead of being stuck to your phone uploading on Facebook and social media do that when you get home like we did in the good ol days... I can't fault anything about this hotel, for elderly people complaining about the steps blame your travel agent for booking you in here they obviously don't care about your needs and if you booked it yourself well you didn't do your research so shame on you. Ya there are a good few steps but get over it it's on a cliff if they built the hotel anywhere else you wouldn't have the breathe taking views or beach on your door step. If you don't like steps book another hotel there are plenty of hotels around. I can't fault a single thing other than I wish I stayed longer

Me, my partner and our 4-year old son have just returned from a 4 day stay at the Auramar. i am surprised with the number of comments about "rude staff", as we found every member of staff we met to be very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Maybe it's how you speak to them first? Overall we loved our short stay and are looking to come back later in the year. We didn't try the outdoor pool as the weather wasn't quite hot enough yet, but our boy enjoyed a dip in the heated indoor pool. We stayed half board and enjoyed the breakfast and dinner buffets with plenty of choice each time. The entertainment shows looked good, but at 9.30 was maybe a little bit late for young kids. Our room was in the B-block on the 5th floor and we had a stunning sea and beach view from the balcony. My verdict - very good.
It may be cold, wet and grey in the UK, but the weather on Albufeira holidays couldn’t be more different. Summers are hot and dry and last right through until October, while winters are much milder than British ones. With so many great beaches around the area and great sunshine, your Albufeira holidays will be packed full of great memories.
