It is recommended that guests hire a car in order to reach the island's capital, Funchal, which is located in the north-east.
American Express, MasterCard and VISA are accepted as methods of payment.
The complex grounds feature a heated pool around which is a sun terrace where sun loungers and parasols have been laid out ready for use. It is possible to play table tennis or billiards and the local area provides the ideal setting for hikes and cycle rides, with many waterfalls waiting to be marvelled at. During the summer months are lively typical folk festivals at which the opportunity to sample genuine "espetada em pau de louro" (beef on a laurel kebab) and the local wines should not be passed up.
