We have just returned home after staying at the Sol e Mar from March 18th until the 26th , the hotel is in a great location right on the beach and near to all the Old Town ammeneties, It is a very clean hotel and all the staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. We stayed bed and breakfast and the breakfast offered a large choice , ranging from Continental, fruit , the full English , and yoghurt cakes etc , so it catered for all tastes , The room was very clean with maid service daily , Sadly for us the Portugese weather was not good for alot of our break and it would have been nice to have more English tv channels, but if the weather had been good this would not have been so much of an issue , Wifi is available in the lounge area which also has a nice bar , the entertainment was not really for us but the older clientele seemed to like it ( we are late 50s) , but saying that we did sit in the bar for a last drink some nights , ( mainly to check our Internet ) We would definetly choose to stay at the Sol e Mar again . And have recommended it to friends and family

nice hotel friendly staff. good breakfast all one would want. like other reviews the coffee is not to my taste I would say quite bitter. the rooms are big, very clean an airy, with as one would say fab views over the ocean. yes there tired but the facilities all work so that's all you need in bathroom now for my very big moan the first week fab second week drilling was a nightmare , they are doing a new kitchen as we were on 4th floor ,the kitchen was above our room on 5th floor ,we complained was told wont be long .but it went on after 11am till sometimes 6 / 7 pm at night could not have afternoon nap or concentrate on reading as for noise from drill or banging. was not a small job as they had big skip at side of hotel full with mortar an rubble to the brim. Complained 3 times to ask for manager was told he was on holiday how convenient the building work was going on still when we left. Why were travel company not informed ? if they were I would not of chose this hotel. hotel should inform customers of building work going on..... not happy customers...with how it was handled ..

We decided to stay here because of its location, in respect of both the beach and the Old Town. The location and views are wonderful, the staff are very friendly and the bedrooms and public areas very clean; however the bedrooms are basic and slightly tired - if you want a hairdryer you collect one from reception! The breakfast was just ok, plenty of food but very bland and no fresh prepared fruit ( not even oranges!). Coffee was good though. Our room had an inter-connecting door, locked but not soundproof and we had two disturbed nights because of the noise from the adjoining room. As we were only staying 3 nights it was not worth changing but would have complained to reception if staying longer. All in all we paid a good price for our mini break but would probably not stay there again, especially as you do not have to be a resident to use the wonderful sun terrace.
It may be cold, wet and grey in the UK, but the weather on Albufeira holidays couldn’t be more different. Summers are hot and dry and last right through until October, while winters are much milder than British ones. With so many great beaches around the area and great sunshine, your Albufeira holidays will be packed full of great memories.
