Good points: Spacious accommodation. Quiet. Pool area very clean. Kitchen & equipment average. Not so good points: NO SAFE. Lack of reception. Only one apartment key. Only cleaned once a week. Lack of fresh linen. No pillow for sofa bed in lounge area. No air con. lifts not working properly. lack of sun bed around pool.. Too quiet.
I agree with all KatB 1082 has in her review. We travelled with extended family & had 3 apartments booked only one of the three had air conditioning. We arrived 4th August so it was very hot...
We booked here for a week at the end of July. We have 2 young children under 5. On arrival at the complex we had to call a number to be let in. We were waiting approx 20 minutes and had to call again. This was a bit of a pain with 2 small and tired children. The apartments were extremely spacious and well equipped. There's even a washing machine! When we booked this holiday, it said that all apartments were air conditioned but ours wasn't. When we complained, reception said they could provide us with a fan. It took 8 hours for us to get a fan and we all then had to sleep in one room to feel the benefit!! The pool area was very nice and there is a small children's pool. We were able to get a sun lounger. On the website also these apartments specify that they are a "few minutes from the beach" or the marina. Please be aware that they are not. It is at least a 30 minute (obviously more with little ones) trek to the resort centre, bars, restaurants and sea front. There is a tourist train that stops just down from the apartment complex but it gets very busy and you have to pay a few euros. This runs to the marina. The last train back is around 11.30pm. There is very little in the area around the Eden Village apartments. The odd restaurant, a small supermarket but nothing we could find. It is a residential area with a few hotels. For us this wasn't the holiday we wanted and after complaining to the agent, we were moved to another resort, near to the beach after just 2 nights. All in all, lovely apartments (better with air con) but very far away from the resort centre. It's such a shame because Vilamoura and the marina are beautiful.
We arrived at around 5pm on a Monday only to find reception closed- we had to call a number and wait around 15 mins for someone to arrive, a bit annoying as surely they knew we were due to check in...
I agree with all KatB 1082 has in her review. We travelled with extended family & had 3 apartments booked only one of the three had air conditioning. We arrived 4th August so it was very hot especially at night and difficult to sleep with only a fan. The apartments are very spacious with 2 bathrooms, 2 balconies, cleaning twice weakly, well equipped kitchen but no sink cloth or washing up liquid or extra bin bag left also no salt & pepper which usually is basic in most apartments. No safe although you can leave valuable items ie Passport etc at reception safe. The beds ( twin)in our apt A204 were really hard & uncomfortable. It has a limited pool bar, no ice cream The staff at reception are very nice especially Elina who organised printing boarding cards for our group. Reception is only open a few hours a day so give yourself plenty of time, they give you a number to call them in an emergency. Overall it's a safe gated apartment but quiet. 5 mins walk away you will find a complex with bars, restaurants etc. Overall very good for families.
We arrived at Eden Village just before midnight on the 4th of July the taxi driver did not know where they were and went past but we found them on to find an iron gate with a mobile number the driver...
We arrived at around 5pm on a Monday only to find reception closed- we had to call a number and wait around 15 mins for someone to arrive, a bit annoying as surely they knew we were due to check in!. Got checked in quickly once the receptionist turned up and were given our key- our apartment was ground floor, really good size with large bedroom and 2 bathrooms, airconditioning in bedroom and living room and kitchen with gas hob, oven, washing machine etc. There was also a balcony off both the living room and the bedroom and a built in Bbq on the living room balcony. The furniture was a bit basic and the bed was sooo uncomfortable! The worst I have experienced to be honest. The kitchen was also lacking basic things like a dishcloth and washing up liquid and bin bags ( they asked that you emptied the bin daily but didnt provide bin bags strangely) but other than that it was well equipped with all the cooking utensils and crockery you could need. The tv had literally about 7 channels with the only english speaking one being BBC World, even a couple of radio channels would have been appreciated but we were on hols so TV wasnt a priority. There were also security shutters for the patio doors in the living room and bedroom, on our first night the shutters in the living room wouldnt go down so we called the emergency number and someone came out to fix it. Towards the end of the holiday the bedroom shutters also broke one afternoon and despite visiting reception twice and calling the emergency number noone came to fix it until the following day- being on the ground floor we were a bit concerned securitywise and didnt sleep very well but otherwise we had no other problems with the apartment. Obviously July is a busy time of year but there werent enough sunloungers at the pool so people left their towels out early morning.. a couple of 'sun lounger wars' broke out while we were there but I guess its something which happens everywhere, although more loungers would definately have been appreciated. The snackbar at the pool was handy for drinks although their freezer was broken during our whole stay so no icecreams/icelollies were available. It is a long walk to the Marina, at least 30 mins so we got taxis as it was so warm, only around 6 euro but sporadic and sometimes dont come when they say they will we ended up googling a different taxi company as the ones that the reception recommended were poor. There is a complex only 5 mins walk away with a little supermarket, parkys bar, a carpa restaurant, chez carlos restaurant, Tee Times cafe and Marias bakery- we would highly recommend them all and they were perfect for us to get everything we needed. All in all we had a lovely time, apartments are overall good just a couple of things would improve them a lot!
