Stayed at the end of March had a very pleasant time. Stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which exceeded expection. We were lucky enough to get an apartment on the corner of the building (Room 824) and had 3 separate balconies with both sea and pool views which was really nice! Beautiful spacious apartment as we came with 2 small children, this came in really handy. A travel cot was already in our room as we arrived and it was clean with no problems. The rest of the apartment was clean also with no problems. The staff were lovely, reception very helpful, bar and restaurant staff friendly and the cleaners were very sweet even though they didn't speak much English, they still interacted with our children and made an effort to say hello. Overall our stay was very pleasant the only couple of negatives I have are very minor but worth mentioning. There is no lift so if you are thinking about coming with a pram/wheelchair be aware it's stairs all the way so make sure to ask for a lower floor. Also the food was perfectly edible although very basic. I've never been all inclusive before so didn't quite know what to expect but it was basically chips, rice and pasta every meal time with a different meat and fish. Again perfectly edible nothing wrong with the quality but just came home not feeling the need for chips any time soon.

Lovely, clean and very spacious apartments near beautiful beaches although the beds are hard and the pillows are terrible. The restaurant was very busy during our stay which meant that we quickly left our table so other guests could have it missing evening entertainment which was in the same room. Unfortunately there wasn't any where to sit so we never stayed. Meals were ok constanly replenished although repetitive. The pool was clean and had daytime parrot and reptile shows. Continental breakfast was very poor due to amount of people and lack of staff. They ran out of cutlery, cups, plates cereal, bread, crossiants, butter and milk. There were no trays and over the easter weekend long queues. This could have been sorted by putting food in both sides. On our last night we had a problem with a large group of spanish lads that had moved in beneath us. Although they were just enjoying themselves the noise was horrendous and went on most of the night. . Unfortunately there isn't anybody you can contact after 11pm. Zoomarine is a brilliant day out and costs €14 by taxi. There is also a bus which is €7 return pp. A taxi to albufeira old town cost €20. Armacao de pera is a lovely place and can be reached by a 25 minute cliff walk or via the main roads.

Amazing holiday in a less commercial part of Armaçao de Pera, Portugal with a very good staying in Terrace Club hotel

I saw a picture on the internet and I said to my husband: “This is where I want to go for holiday.” It was an aerial photo of the little church Senhora da Rocha in Armaçao de Pera, Portugal, on a little slip that was going into the ocean. I thought it was incredible and we start looking for offers there. It wasn’t easy, as this location (Armaçao de Pera, Portugal) is not sell in Romania (later on, we could figure out why…). Finally, we decided to make it piece by piece the transportation – in fact, the access to the location was the whole problem… Up until the end, because at the departing date, we had a very big and unpleasant surprise: a general strike in Portugal. But after many hours on the road, we reached a heavenly pace. The hotel is situated in a corner of the touristic locality, very quiet and not-crowded, with beautiful white houses and colorful yards. The small streets were calm and very romantic. One day, we even made a trip to the “commercial” part of Armaçao de Pera. It was a place full with big hotels and restaurants, many-many people and a quite banal beach – a gentle entrance into the water, and people lying next to each other. The feeling that we found a wonderful spot to spend our holiday became very clear to us. From the crowded beach of the touristic Armaçao de Pera we were looking at the rocky coast in the far right and … we hit the road back to Senhora da Rocha… Getting back to the review of the hotel, Terrace Club is close to the ocean, which I think is visible in most of the rooms. We stayed in a 2 rooms apartment, pretty large space. The living room was enlarged with the open kitchen that has everything we could want in it. Starting from all kind of cooking and serving recipients to all domestic appliance that you can usually find in a kitchen. We had chosen to prepare the breakfast ourselves so that this was easy to do with having all those devices. We found the market in the neighborhood (walking distance through that beautiful part of the locality) and this was a way to get to better know the village. The living room had a good TV and a nice coach to relax on in the afternoons. Both the living room and the bed room had large balconies (with a second table and chairs in one of the living room) with a pool view and an ocean view in the right. The pool was full all the time. Some of the tourists I think didn’t went to see the ocean at all. The bathroom of the apartment had a bit old sanitary ware, but functional (with bathtub and bidet). A quite big storage room was very helpful in order for our luggage not to stay in our way. We appreciated that the apartment had generous space and was very comfy for the money we have paid… We tried the food of the hotel and was quite good. Not very diverse, but it was fresh and tasty. They had two or three fish courses and this made a good impression on my husband. From the hotel, there is a descendent street to the beach. This make the beach access pretty hard. But I’m not very sporty, I was in my first trimester of pregnancy and I had suffered for a couple of days from muscle fever. But it worth one’s while! The view is spectacular! Breathe taking! The coast is disrupt, but the sand has a coffee and milk color and is very fine. There are several beaches, some private (of the hotels above), one public and set up for tourists and one we found without human intervention (but still visited). This one was perfect because the wall at the sunset side was far away, so we had enough sun during the day (the set up beach was smaller and the shadow came early in the afternoon). And it was adventurous too, because the access to the larger beach was made through a tunnel that was dug in the rock. Very few people were coming there, so it was quite private. We enjoyed this very much!... The place was like an amphitheater and the sound of the ocean was very strong and peacefully at the same time. I remember I was yelling at my husband 4 meters away and he didn’t hear me…. It was the ocean all the way!!! Laying on the beach, I was almost fall asleep by the sound, while my husband was swimming far away in the wonderful water. I was fascinated by the rocks, too. They had ancient imprints of plants and shells… Amazing picture with these tall walls of hard rock facing the ocean… I have to mention that the little church Senhora da Rocha was just above the tunnel, on the left wall of the “wild” beach… So I had the chance to see it every day… twice a day… In that area we were talking about, we found few options regarding restaurants. Into the village, there were 2 or 3, but every time we passed them, they were empty and closed. We still wonder about they were functioning or not. It is fair to say that we didn’t go there to check in the evening… Only for lunch. Most of the times, we went to a little family restaurant with grill. There was another grill restaurant on the beach (the set up beach) and one just near the little church. The local transportation is not very good. Few buses a day and often have delays from the announced program. This is why renting a car is a good option in order to visit the surroundings. For example, the FIESA, the International Sand Sculpture Festival… The spaces around the buildings were very nice set, with colorful flowers, green grass and palms everywhere. Everything was clean and carefully organized. I think words are not enough to accurately describe how much I loved the place! I will put some pictures in order to be more specific. Even so…. It is not enough! The place is wonderful and the hotel itself was on the up-and-up!
