My wife and I stayed here for three weeks in March 2015. It's a comfortable apartment hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful. We rented a car, and found the hotel's location ideally suited to exploring the Algarve. Even Spain is less than 2 hours away on the expressway. There are lots of wonderful restaurants within walking distance, as are the shopping and nightclubs of the "Strip". There is a beach not too far away, but it requires negotiating a fairly steep hill. Not for the weak of limb or lung. You pretty well need a car to get to the many gorgeous scenic areas of the Algarve, and I would recommend buying a European map for your GPS and taking it with you. It can cost up to 5 euro a day to rent one with your car. You can purchase wifi in your room for 20 euros per week, or you can use the free wifi in the comfortable spacious lobby/courtyard/atrium. There is a grocery store a 5 minute walk away that also has a good selection of wine, beer and liquor. You may have to ask at reception for an ice cube tray for your fridge, and you will have to buy or bring your own shampoo, salt, pepper, and soap. Oh, and a dishcloth LOL. This is true of most of the apartment hotels in the area not just the Luna. All in all a great holiday and I woud go back to the Luna again.

Arrived in the Algarve on a late Ryan Air flight . Transfers with Yellow Fish . As I was traveling by myself the transfer was important, I needed a reliable transfer and I got this and more with yellow Fish . Free wifi and a clean car with a friendly driver. My check in procedure at Luna Forte da Oura was quick and extremely friendly . All the hotel receptionist in Luna was friendly and helpful . My room was clean and spacious . The balcony over looked the car park but as I was only there for 3 days it really didn't matter . The bathroom clean . The pillows were a little uncomfortable. The pool area was clean and pool bar handy but people traveling with children please find out if kids pool is now full as it was undergoing repair work . It didn't bother me but if I had been traveling with children ( as it was Easter Holidays ) I would have been a bit annoyed . No pool towels provided and not enough sunbeds so guests sunbathing on ground . Free wifi In the reception area and storage room available for late departure. The location is excellent . A big supermarket just around corner, bars and snack bars very close. Beach 10 walk down a steep hill, obviously this steep hill is more noticeable on the way back from the beach !!

Loved the setting. Located close to restaurants and a supermarket. Has a great breakfast place right across the street. You can see the cusp of the ocean from the hotel premises and feel the ocean breeze especially in the evenings. I had a studio room. Very clean and quite spacious. Kitchenette fully functional. The hotel is also located close to a tours booking agent. This made getting around to see the different towns in Algarve pretty easy to organise. Hotel staff were very helpful in recommending places to go see and providing materials.

just returned from a week away in the algarve for the wife's birthday. we have stayed in this area many times over the years but first time at this hotel. arrived and checked in, given a room on the third floor (room 337). on examining the room all appeared to be well. as you walk into the room toilet on left two double wardrobes on the right with safe in one of them(30 euro a week with a 15 euro refundable when key returned). Two single beds, then you enter the kitchen come dining room, then onto the balcony, this is were the problem was. The balcony was spacious, but not in the sun, the balcony was constantly in the shade. This made the room very cool at night. We were told at reception that the room was at the rear of the hotel, if we had requested a room at the front of the hotel this would have incurred an extra charge. we pointed out to reception that all photographs and comments on the website (on the beach) showed rooms from the front of hotel, with no mention or comments regarding the rooms at the rear. during our stay we overheard another guest complaining about the same problem. I accept that it was our choice to opt for one of the cheaper rooms available, but this is the first time we have experienced a room with no sun all day. This resulted in us not using the balcony and the room being cool at night. There is a tourist type apartment block with pool facing our balcony which appears to be empty with no furniture or curtains in any of the rooms, But gets the sun all day.
It may be cold, wet and grey in the UK, but the weather on Albufeira holidays couldn’t be more different. Summers are hot and dry and last right through until October, while winters are much milder than British ones. With so many great beaches around the area and great sunshine, your Albufeira holidays will be packed full of great memories.
