Lovely holiday

27 August 2015

As we leave Malta today I wanted to say that this hotel has been wonderful. Our room is large and airy and the sea view perfect. We are travelling with a 13 yr old and a 9 yr old. Both children have...

Myself and my daughter stayed here for 2 weeks in July '15 (bed and breakfast). I can;t fault the hotel - the staff were helpful and friendly, the room had tea/coffee making facilities, TV, Air con (temperature was fine for us) and fridge which did manage to keep drinks cool after being on 24 hours. Our room was immaculate and I presume from other comments had been recently refurbished. Pool area while we were there was busy but we always found a sunbed and it was clean. Steps down to the sea were handy as we like to snorkel and you can use sunbeds free of charge at the hotel to the right (I think it was called Sandy Beach). Breakfast had plenty of choice of pretty much everything you would need and was replenished when things ran out. I can't comment on other meals as we had chosen B&B. Location was nicve and quiet with bus stop straight outside and a nice walk to centre of Buggiba along the sea front or you can take a short cut from the back of the hotel across the peninsula which saves about 15 minutes. Restaurants within about 5 minutes in the area were some of the better ones we found in the general Buggiba area. I sometimes get hotel envy when I go to a place and see what is around the local area but on this occasion I think we had the best of the bunch.

Spent a week here with my wife and almost 2 year old son. Now, this is a decent enough hotel but it is NOT a four star hotel. If five stars is the definition of luxury, then four stars should be really good. And this isn't. Why? Well, the hotel has been renovated recently, but the job could've been done much better if you ask me. The rooms were nice and clean and the maids were kind and flexible about when they would come and clean the room. The breakfast was the usual; bacon, eggs etc. Served it's purpose But there's a lot that has to be done before they can call themselves a four stars hotel. Here's a few things: - the fridges or coolers or whatever in the rooms are useless. They're as warm as the room itself. - the air con does work, but it sure is NOISY. So, earplugs are a must if you have trouble sleeping in a lot of noise. - the WIFI's useless too, unless you pay more for a faster one. Didn't pay because I don't believe it would've been any better. - they also charge you extra if you want to have a late checkout. That was the first time ever for us that we had to pay for that. And we've been in quite a few places. They really want your money, that's for sure. - the showers and toilets in the pool area were filthy and absolutely outdated and the children's play areas floor was also full of small rubbish. Do I really need remind the staff that kids usually put everything in their mouth as quick as they can? And at last but not least, on our arrival they gave us a room that was connected to the next room with a door. I wonder what they were thinking by doing this? Because of this we heard everything that was done in the other room. And the people next door were SMOKING IN THE ROOM also. I told the staff about this, but nothing happened at first. Then I told them again and this time they actually understood the situation and gave us another room. If something needs to be done, you have to say it like you really mean it at this place. There was also a family that arrived a few days after us and I overheard them telling the staff that they specifically booked a connected room. And they weren't getting it. Don't know how that ended, but it sure was priceless. Now, I hate to whine and moan about everything, but this place really got on my nerves. After all of this, I think it's pretty obvious that we are not going back. If you want to go, suit yourself, but at least check that they are giving you the right kind of room before you go. Three stars max, and that's just me being nice. I wonder what Gordon would say?

This hotel is obviously not on the standard with your all in hotels in Turkey or Egypt, as long as you know this you will love it and know what to expect. The hotel rooms are amazing we stayed with our two teenage sons in a family suite - amazing so clean, plenty of space etc. The food was good too, always something to choose. If you have younger children the animation team were the best I have ever come across! they worked so hard and actually come over for chats which was lovely! Catherine is lovely. The location is fantastic, you can walk round the bay to Bugibba in 15 minutes if you walk at a slow pace. Bus stops right outside at the cost of €2 one way anywhere on the island. If you are considering Malta, this hotel if fab, don't hesitate in booking. Finally, the air con is acceptable - you adjust, kept us all cool x

Nice family hotel in Malta

We stayed here for one week, August 2015. We arrived just in time for lunch. As we were all inclusive, although our rooms weren't ready we could access every other part of hotel. The pool is great, salty tho! we found sunbeds even though we arrived at 12 noon, which is a bonus. Food is good, our 6 year old daughter always found something yummy to eat, and a lovely touch was to have a small kids area, with a couple of food stations at their height, so they can help themselves. Our room was lovely, clean, recently refurbished so nothing tatty or broken. The safe, fridge and air con in the room are all welcomed. Having told all about the hotel, the VERY BEST thing about this hotel and the reason we would return, HAS to be the entertainment.... The whole team are excellent! In the morning the team mingle with guests at breakfast, chatting and informing of the day's entertainment etc. what a lovely touch. My daughter was ecstatic when Maria joined us for breakfast one morning. Olivia (our daughter) joined in with the kids club and Stephanie was superb. She kept all the kids entertained all week. Other staff joining in too. Thank you Stephanie for helping to make our daughters holiday so memorable for her. Ricardo led the team brilliantly and the best nights were when the entertainment team got everyone involved. So funny!!! We joined in with pool games, darts, Aqua Zumba and Aqua Gym. We would have thought about the table tennis tournament but the table is just inside and it was too hot in there! Make no mistake, the star of this hotel is its entertainment...... Thanks for a great holiday to all the team!! We visited the aquarium, which is just a five minute stroll up the road. We also walked to Buggiba which is a bit more lively. If you are eating out, there is plenty of variety and very reasonable. One Tiny grumble was the bar! On the first night I had a gin fizz, which was delicious..... It was never the same cocktail after the first one and certainly didn't taste as good as the first night. If you asked to change it the staff, although really polite and friendly, always said "just take it anyway" they were always rushed off their feet at night. That said, it is a great hotel for families
