Visited the Seashells for a weekend after looking at the fantastic photos of the refurbished hotel. Booked a deluxe sea view room and we were very looking forward to our stay I must say. Arrived on Friday afternoon, and hotel reception was very busy, staff were doing their best to greet everybody and not let anybody wait, I think they were a bit stressed at the time, but its ok it is understood. The bracelet system (distinguishes hotel guests from all-inclusive, bed and breakfast etc) is not very attractive, however we didn't have any other option :) Upon arriving to our room, which I must say was spotless, I have to say that it was not really like we were expecting from the photos - although it was ok. When you opt for a 'deluxe' room, you expect little 'extras' in the room.... We didn't even have a small bottle of water, which is usually the norm even in lower rated hotels/resorts. We asked if room service was available for food/drinks... They were not impressed, I think they were annoyed ... They said if you insist on needing room service we'll see what we can do.. so we didn't bother asking for further information. We asked about the mini-fridge in the room because it was switched off and we were told that it is a frigo-bar that keeps items in their actual temperature... But it was not, it was actually a fridge and it definitely cooled our stuff which was a big plus. Breakfast - very nice surroundings, but the experience was not exactly to be proud of. Staff were running around looking confused and if you ask a question in english, it was very difficult to be understood. Getting cutlery and mugs/ glasses for drinks was a real feat. I kept running around after them to give us cutlery to eat our food with, it was getting cold from all the waiting! Then again, I understand that it was very busy, but I think that staff need to be trained to cover particular areas more effeciently - guests cannot keep on chasing after staff for every little thing they need. Food was ok, there was a nice selection. Juices tasted really bad - sugary and very artificial. The selection of pastries and sweets was definitely not one would expect of a four star resort. The pool area is quite nice, I wish that we had more time to spend there. Housekeeping staff are very nice and they do their job very well and with dedication, the girl that cleaned our room - not sure if her name was erika, was super sweet! The elevators are super fast and super silent... We were impressed, however i was a bit taken aback that they were not fitted with the card system for added security.

My wife and I returned to this country on May 19th after a most enjoyable holiday, staying at the Seashells Resort in Qawra. The hotels location was ideal for our purposes with a bus stop across the road from the hotel linking to many of Malta's popular destinations. Resent renovations had been completed to a high standard. We found the staff at all levels to be polite and helpful. Our bedroom with partial sea view had all the facilities we needed and was kept clean and tidy by the staff member allocated. Food and drinks were freely available at meal times with something to satisfy most peoples needs. A special mention should be made about Gurli on the information desk. To be greeted by a smile and a willingness to answer any of our enquiries was invaluable. We would certainly return to this hotel and recommend it to our friends. Mr E C Brown from Yorkshire

Lovely rooms everywhere clean. Staff helpful and friendly. Food let the hotel down badly eg uncooked pasta, frazzled chips, curry without the curry to name a few. Can't believe they actually put food out like that and obviously nobody paid attention to what they were putting out. Also no iron or hairdryer in the room. Had to ask at reception for a hairdryer lucky to get one. Air conditioning didn't work reported it but nothing changed. Fridge in the room is a waste of time set at something like 15 degrees no point in being there. On a positive note it's in a good location to get buses to any part of the island.
