Having been to the Santana a number of times I can reliably say that if ever you have any constructive comments to make to the Hotel, the staff do take note and changes are made. The staff are always friendly and willing to listen - if in the unlikely event you need something mended in the room, then the maintenance staff carry this out immediately. Food is first class and beverages are not over priced. Very close to Bugibba Bus Terminus giving access all over the island and within sensible walking distance to he seafront and Bugibba town centre. Special mention to Carmen Zammit. The hotel is really nice. It's a short distance from Bugibba centre and literally two minutes walk from the bus station. There is plenty of free parking just across the road. We had a suite, which consisted of a bedroom area, a kitchen area leading onto a sun terrace, and a well appointed bathroom at the back. The bed was fairly comfortable and the room was well maintained and clean. One small point that I didn't like was that the small add-ons were chargeable. Tea and coffee is only available at a three euro a night supplement, and wifi, where in a lot of places is free, was chargeable too. We only ate breakfast in the hotel and this is where it's feeding time at the zoo. From my observations, a lot of our European neighbours have different understandings of queueing - as in none. In my opinion, the jury is out as to whether Italians or Germans are the most ignorant people that I have come across. The hotel has an indoor pool. Being winter, this is one of the attractions which led to us booking the hotel. It's underground, so doesn't get a lot of natural daylight. This isn't an issue - the issue, certainly whilst we were there, was that the pool area is signed as a relaxation area where noise should be kept to a minimum, However, these signs are only in English, not that obvious and not, in any way monitorred or enforced. This led to a large family invading the pool area and completely ruining the experience. A complaint to the staff led to nothing happening. Would we go back? Probably, but only in summer as we swould not need to use the indoor pool.
Qawra weather is hot in the summer and still very mild in the winter months which is why it has a year-round popularity both with watersports enthusiasts and families and couples 12 months of the year. If you want to go on a family holiday to Qawra then the summer months are the best time, while for couples looking to get away from the stress of life should consider taking their Qawra holidays later in the season.
