first of all, the hotel is very very good situated, near the bus terminal where you can get everywhere in malta. the staff is very friendly, polite and helps you whenever it is possible!!! the breakfast was ok, the outside pool should be renewed, the inside pool is great. in total the stay in this hotel was ok and even after a small ac problem in our room in the first night, we enjoyed it very much then! after our check in we got in our room. room temperature was about 30 degrees and it smelled awfull like really old air and cold smoke, as if the room was a smokers room before. I tried to switch on the air condition, there was just a small breeze, not cold. we also had a ceiling fan, so I switched it on too. The whole thing moved, I really was scared that it will break and fall down the ceiling and on my head like in a horror movie. after 1 hour, the room was not getting colder, so i went down to the reception at 1 o'clock and asked if there is anything they can do, we can not sleep because of the heat. the staff was very friendly. he went up with us, checked some things and offered us immediately a new room for this night. the second room was much smaller but the ac worked fine and the bath was much nicer than in the first room. we could stay the whole week in this room. after that we were satisfied, but I think something like this should not happen in a hotel! the outside pool should be renewed, the pools edges are dirty and stained and don't look very nice. the breakfast was typical for english tourists (baked beans, fatty ham, fatty sausages, porridge, grilled tomatoes and every version of scrambled eggs)... not so much for european tourists but it was ok. the maltese bread tastes really good. some times there were some maltese products like small pastizzis or date cakes... I whished there was a little bit more maltese breakfast. and PLEASE change the music in the breakfast room!!! 3 songs of enrique igl*sias were played ALL the time again and again and again every morning!!! the indoor pool was very nice and we spent a lot of time there in the evening. it is not crowded and you can relax in the well temperatured water and in the whirlpool! after all the stay in this hotel was ok, but the things I mentioned should be fixed, to get a better rating for the future. Thanks again to all the friendly people at the reception in this hotel!

Stayed at this hotel a few times before. We stayed All Inclusive and the food in the restaurant is still very good. Lots of choices every breakfast, lunchtime and dinner. Staff very efficient. We stayed in a family suite on the 5th floor. Ample size, cleaned daily....shower and water pressure was TERRIBLE though. Staff working in the ground floor cafe/bar were very friendly and always happy BUT VERY UNDERSTAFFED AND BUSY!! Only 1 staff member working behind the bar at times and having to make sandwiches etc. as well as serve drinks at a busy bar. There seemed to be a lot of "Managers" just walking around when they could have been helping serve drinks / food etc. Both swimming pools were clean. Indoor pool area near lifts / stairs very slippery though. Rooftop pool was lovely and the poolside showers were always clean. Lower level blue stripe sunbeds TERRIBLE, broken, dirty and uncomfortable..in dire need of replacement. Sunbeds on pool level were very good....but as previous comments highlighted.. guests laying towels on sunbeds early morning and then not coming back to them until afternoon was annoying and selfish... but that is not the hotels fault. Overall another GREAT stay.

We are just finishing our stay in the Santana and enjoyed our holiday. We were in room 201 which is a superior room . It is large with a sofa, fridge, balcony. The room was cleaned every day by Yorka who did a good job and a credit and chatted when passing. The breakfast was variety from fruit cocktail, yougart, some cereal, usual fry-up, selection of bread & rolls, something for everyone taste. Dinner at night was selection of salad starters, soup, and choice of main meal - meat, fish, pasta and we had something to suit us every evening. In general any staff we came in contact with were helpful. Although some parts need updated and a fresh coat of paint, as this is the 2nd time staying here would come back as we haven't seen anything better for the price. Some friends stayed elsewhere and their food wasn't on a par with Santana, so swings & roundabouts. The very central location is perfect to access the bus station, tours, promenade area as one of us is hard to get around, so it's very handy. If come back will probably stay in same hotel and room as it suits us both.
