Best pool, and most comfortable sun beds ever,in fact more beds than holiday makers made a nice change. Rooms were better than average and clean, with fridge ,kettle and coffee refills daily, jack and Jill sink ,good quality toilet paper and freezing cold aircon was fantastic. Staff were nice and helpful and Christina in the serving area made the best breakfast omelettes ever. I'de go back for those alone. Dinner was fab you must have soup with every meal as this is the best tasting soup ever, good choice meant a little of everything was the way forward.Great beach with beach bars 200yards away was great and several fun bars only 5 mins walk away if you wanted fun.would Definitely go again

Had a Junior Suite at the rear of the hotel. Quite a nice room but the furniture was showing a lot of wear which spoilt the appearance of the room. Quiet hotel, food choice was good but they had a problem with serving it hot, despite the heated containers with lids. The pool area was lovely, but the sunbed matresses were particularly grubby, again this spoilt the appearance of the area. Good reception upon arrival, glass of champagne , but lack of customer service , we asked if it was possible to upgrade to a room with a hot tub overlooking the pool and how much it would be , despite several requests we never received an answer. Upon leaving we checked to be told it had been full with no available upgrades . Shame they couldn't be bothered to tell us when we asked at the start of the holiday.

On the positive side the pool, food and staff were lovely. However, the overall feel of the hotel was soulless and you could have been anywhere in the world. Compared to other 5 star hotels we have stayed in this comes no where near the mark. Rooms are on the small side and there are NO views from rooms unless you have a pool view. All of the rooms face a fence or dingy gardens which are unkempt. During our whole week's stay on only one night was live entertainment provided unless you paid extra to eat in the a la carte restaurant. This wasn't popular and even on the Greek night, when the hotel had the chance to show off, only 3 tables of about 8 people in total attended (as everybody we spoke to said why would they pay 5 star prices and then pay extra for entertainment). This caused an obvious segregation situation and also resulted in the hotel being like a ghost village after evening meals were served as there was literally nothing to do, everyone left and went into town or to their rooms to watch one of the 3 English language news channels (sorry folks no English entertainment available). Entertainment/activities of any description during the day time was nil unless you wanted to pay the extortionate prices in the spar or for a cookery class?!? Very strangely for the first time ever we found that although half board we couldn't swap dinner for lunch, only a 30% discount in the a la carte restaurant as this was the only place were lunchtime food was served (not a la carte). Big tip if you want a great local lunch with an authentic Greek experience, head 100 metres down to the beach and eat in the Paradise Bar - fabulous views too! Talking of the beach, the sea is a beautiful blue but the beach rather crowded and grubby. To be honest Mablethorpe knocks spots off it. Seriously! Just to put the cherry on the cake, do check your bill well before you leave as ours had a extra 40 euro bottle of wine added which they insisted I pay for even though they had no slip to prove it was mine. This took a DAY to sort out when finally they admitted THEY had made the mistake but of course no apology! Apparently it is your responsibility to check the DRAFT bill and then to prove you didn't make the purchase! Appalling!! The restaurant staff at this hotel are excellent and go some way towards compensating for the otherwise underwhelming experience. Congratulations go to the young female Matradee (apologies for not knowing your name as you always knew ours (Mr & Mrs C-o-w-a-n)) and of course Lucia our dear friend and waitress for our stay. Lucia worked hard with all customers making their experience the best possible. All of these points were pointed out to the reception staff and the Manageress, Anna, who made notes (incidentally she was the one who did not apologise for their wine blunder) so please don't say we didn't give you a chance or feedback to help make our experience better. Not the hotels fault but Thomas Cook need to know that they had no staff on their airport desk when the plane landed and no one available to guide people to the correct queue in a chaotic airport for departure. This meant that although we arrived 2 hours 10 minutes early we only caught the flights with 15 minutes to spare having waited in the wrong queue several times. This resulted in dozens of unhappy travellers joining the backs of queues when they had waited in the wrong one for over an hour. Not a place we wish to return to and very disappointing as we have spent many very happy holidays previously in Greece. It appears as though the price you pay follows the law of diminishing returns and you would be much better paying half of the price and staying 3 star in a Greek family run hotel.

We have just got back from a weeks stay at the Lesante Hotel and would highly recommend to anyone thinking of visiting the island! It didn't start so well, we missed our flight so missed a nights stay, the hotel however were brilliant and upgraded us for two nights to the superior suite which had its own hot tub and private corridor to access the rooms which made it that bit more special. The hotel staff were absolutely excellent and nothing was ever too much trouble at all and they all made us feel extremely welcome throughout our entire stay. The bar man from the piano bar is an excellent mixologist and has a vast knowledge of pretty much all drinks known to man! He got to know very quickly what my wife and I liked and then after that would pretty much preempt what we wanted and would have it ready for our arrival, he was also a good laugh and we spent many an hour chatting with him and other guests of an evening. I have stayed in many 5 star resorts before and have never met such friendly staff! Will definitely return and cannot recommend this resort enough! The only minor niggle (which isn't the hotels fault at all) is the wifi speed as it's less than 1mb, however I wasn't there to surf the net so didn't overly bother us, just be warned if you need to access emails etc!
