Convenient for the airport only a 5 minute taxi ride. A lovely welcome from Nikos and Eva. Apartment typical Greek style everything you need to make a basic snack is there. Beds spotlessly clean. We were in a ground floor room which although very dark had the benefits of being cool and we didn't need air.con. I think I would request a room with a balcony on an upper floor if we went again. The food in the taverna was lovely just far too much we soon learned to order one plate of main course and share. Hotel was in a main road position very handy for the bus, we hired a car from Pegasus car hire which was very reasonable €120 for 5 days and we ventured off the beaten track to little villages in the mountains. The beach at Tholos is not the best but not needed with the gorgeous pools at the hotel these are a credit to Nikos who cleaned them every single day at 7am - one small gripe was the people who must set their alarm to 'claim' their sun lounger so annoying and unnecessary. This is a beautiful well maintained hotel run by a lovely family.

I was invited to stay with friends who had been previously and although I was a little nervous being a singleton, I enjoyed a week of Greek hospitality second to none. From the wonderful warm welcome by the owners on day one it was clear my holiday would be memorable. Delicious food and plenty of it, my apartment although basic was completely adequate and cleaned every single day, a perfect retreat and just what I needed. Thank you Eva and Nikos, a definite return to the Filoxenia Hotel is on the cards.

Friends have stayed here for the last two years and had nothing but great things to say about the hotel apartments. We stayed here for a week and returned home on the 04/07/2015, with great sadness!!! We were greeted by the owners and immediately felt welcome and at home! The apartments overlook both pools and the restaurant bar. The rooms are cleaned day (as is the whole complex) and is spotlessly clean. It is a family run business and the personal touches made it a fantastic place to stay. Nikos, Evangeline and Michael and all their staff were extremely helpful, in fact they could not do enough for us! The pools are great and the whole complex is set in beautiful grounds and clearly belong to a gardner! The food was amazing, they took pleasure in explaining the menu and if there was a aspect of the choice that you wanted to change they were happy to sort it for you, nothing was to much trouble. sadly due to flight times we missed their BBQ on Saturday evening, which I am told is really good. On returning to the complex after a day trip we were treated with "Welcome home", which is really how it felt. We are both looking forward to returning for our second trip next year and would not think twice about recommending this lovely lovely place. Happy Holibobs!!!!

Its like staying with family

Having read previous reviews about this apart hotel, our expectations were high and I have to say we were not disappointed. It is very quiet, there is no loud music blaring out or animation teams trying to get you involved, which is just what we wanted. However, I will say that as it is only 10 minutes from the airport, there is the noise of the airplanes taking off, but we soon got used to that. The food portions are very big and the quality is impressive. There are two pools and a small children's pool, the sun beds are free and we never had a problem finding one, the restaurant bar is next to the pool area, where you can have drinks and snacks which I would have said were reasonably priced. On Wednesday Nikos does a BBQ, which is at a set price when we went it cost 13 euros for meat or 15 for fish, this involves 4 courses, so make sure your hungry! The restaurant is open late, I ordered food as late as 11pm and both Nikos and his wife could not do enough to please their guests. This was the most relaxing holidays I have ever had. We rented from the hotel a car for a couple of days, it was brought to us and then collected so the process was really simple. The cost was 40 euros for each day, but if we had of had the car for longer it would have been cheaper. Towards the end of the week, we decided to hire a car again and found just a short walk from the Filoxenia a car rental place which was approx 5 euros a day cheaper and we even got a better class car, but we did have to collect it and take it back. Everyone we met on the island was very friendly, as we have grown to expect from the Greeks. The rooms are cleaned every day, and although you do have basic cuttlery, kettle, plates etc. I found that we could have done with a tea towel, because although we ate out most times we did make lunch a few times in the room. I would also like to mention that there are no toasters in the room, which I did miss, not the end of the world as I could have toast in the restaurant. There are no hairdryer's in the room, so take one if you are like me and need to blow dry your hair. I would highly recommend this apart hotel, if you are looking for somewhere relaxing, homely and reasonably priced. The rooms are cleaned everyday, and the sheets were placed in different designs which we thought was a nice touch. Wifi is free, but works best around the pool and in the restaurant, in some of the rooms near the pool it was possible to get wifi in the room sometimes, it was a bit hit and miss, but I managed to Face time my dad on fathers day without a problem. The air conditioning is an extra and I would strongly recommend taking the option, our deal included it, but if it hadn't we would have paid for it as it does get very hot and we went just before summer has really kicked in.
