We have just returned from a week at the Filoxenia Hotel in Tholos Rhodes. If you are looking for a nice quiet location easy to reach from the airport with fantastic hosts and superb home cooked food then you will struggle to do better. You will need a car in our view for those days out...and a laptop or similar if you want to stay in touch with the outside world as there's no T.V . If your perfect holiday is relaxing by the pool with a book...good food...great hosts who are always on hand to help and advise...go for it you won't be disappointed.

We can not fault this hotel, so much so this will be our third return, This is a hotel run by a warm and welcoming family, who made our two last stays, a great experience. The hospitality is like visiting old friends, and wishing you didn`t have to leave at the end. All the staff are friendly and can not help you enough, and are always smiling even at the break of dawn, including their four legged friend Trovato..... The restaurant food is inexpensive, good quality, and always fresh. The rooms are no fuss or thrills, but are just right and are kept very clean, There are two large pools which are maintained every day, plus a wide range of gaming facilities for all ages, which is a bonus The beach is only a stones` throw away - if your into kite surfing, there are two schools to learn with or hire from near by. So this hotel is great, for all types

Myself and my partner booked in at Filoxenia Hotel Apartments after reading all the good reviews, we weren't put off by any of the bad reviews due to the star of the hotel apartments..... If you're looking for 5 star accommodation with all the trimmings well you better get your visa out. We go to the hotel around 10pm to be greated by the owners in the outside taverna area and was made to feel welcomed in a way we've never really had on a holiday! To start with I didn't really know how to take it but soon I realised the family treat all their guests this way and so it begins. The night we arrived we were hungry and tired but even though the food wasn't being served they provided us some bbq food with a Greek salad and it was simply stunning.....and while I'm talking about the food I'll say this, the standard is very high. Local fresh food served in a traditional way. Once a week they have a bbq and it's not your typical British bangers type bbq! We ate a fair few times at the hotel due to us knowing the standard was high and very very reasonably priced. The rooms are basic with a fridge and a hob and a kettle. Perfect really because we don't like cooking on holiday always! The balcony looked out over the pools and the coastline! Sunset is jawdropping. The bar is also very cheap in the hotel, in fact we found drinks to be ultra cheap where ever we went in Rhodes.... Compared to the UK anyway. Outside the hotel is a bus stop perfect for getting to Rhodes Town. The beach is a short walk down the road and that comes with a few Nice bars and restaurants. It's not super lively but just enough to go out at night and have a giggle...... Micks Australian pub is worth a visit, he's hilarious! Overall we loved the Filoxenia Hotel Apartments, the location is great, the family were very friendly and the price is simply amazing..... Oh and we even received a Christmas email from the family which was such a nice touch. Typically we never revisit a holiday destination due to having a huge list of countries we want to visit but we are returning this year and cannot wait for it :)

The hotel is a good size with plenty of sunbeds around the pools. Definitely recommended for families and couples. Will definitely return
