We stayed at Sofitel Taba Heights in a group of ten ladies... It was a few years back, but I enjoyed it so much, I still feel my review is valid. This is the kind of resort that offers a half board with snacks all day long by the pool, or shall I say pools. Everything about it is just wonderful. Staff were attentive and helpful. Egyptians are made for the hospitality business. The pools were clean and the beach inviting. There were also some open air dance classes going on while we were there which were real fun. The food was also good although I must say dinner was my least favourite of all meals. The variety and quality were not a match to the rest of the experience. We went to the traditional "skirt" dance, swirling dervish, one evening, and it was by far the most amazing ever. We wanted to try the massage, but they were almost fully booked. They managed to fit us in. The Thai massage was so relaxing, and the ladies were top notch professionals. Tip: Book as early as possible. During my stay, I had an inflammation in my ankle and it was swollen and painful. We went down to reception who didn't have any painkillers around, yet they had an on-call doctor who arrived shortly. In addition to being strikingly handsome, he took care of my ankle and gave me a shot for the inflammation. Neither the hotel nor the doctor charged us anything for the whole thing. There were ten of us with entirely different moods and interests, yet we all found something to enjoy! To give a better picture of how enjoyable our stay was, I do not swim...still I had a blast!! I haven't been to other hotels in Taba Heights, yet with Sofitel there, if I go again, I do not need another place to stay.

The hotel grounds and rooms are spacious, but the staff are very rude, sometimes ignoring you while you call for help. I would never forget when a guy from the animation team greeted some guests while totally ignoring the others. The hotel is boring and glooming at night with very little illumination. When you ask the waiter at the restaurant near the pool about preparing a burger sandwich, nothing except delay and frustration awaits !!! When it comes to food, if you really care about it, food is extremely awful with no varities and with tactless chefs and waiters. Bad to say that waiters snatch the plates infront of you even if you were still eating !!! Generally, food is definitely bad, poor and not tasty. I regret wasting my holiday here, definitely will not get back

The staff at the Sofitel are second to none, nothing is too much trouble to ensure your comfort, and they quickly become friends you want to visit time and again. It is sad to read about all the previous guests waiting for Taba airport to reopen before revisiting. Book direct with the hotel and they will arrange a taxi transfer from Sharm el Sheik, we have done it several times without any problems. The hotel needs your support now and more importantly would be visitors need a forward thinking company to put this hotel in its brochure so once again package holidays will also be available to English travellers. The location is superb it is a safe and friendly place to visit with beautiful scenery, and a high standard of cleanliness. The beaches are clean and the environment protected ,with a jetty for snorkelling or just watching the many colourful fish . Fabulous.

Been to this hotel twice once in 2012 and then again in 2013, If it wasn't good the first time I wouldn't have gone back. My partner and I loved it both times, we had a room close to the pool with a sea view. We didn't venture out at all, stayed within the hotel and had a relaxing break both times, Egypt is well known for people getting stomach bugs but I have to say we was perfectly fine. Good for couples and families. The food was nice with a good selection restaurant's we're clean and well managed, choice of beer limited but local beer was ok and plenty of choice in regard to cocktails. Wines also available. Day time food by the pool was nice, perfect little selection for snacking. The hotel service is very good and staff friendly. Daily activities in and around the pool, good if that's your thing but not intrusive if it's not, we didn't join in but still enjoyed watching. I found it reasonably priced and although I'm not really one to go the same place more than once if I was looking for a all inclusive beach holiday with a short flight from UK it would take a lot to make me book elsewhere. Coach trip from airport on arrival about 45mins, no issues at all there.
Taba Holidays are a perfect option for families and couples alike no matter what the season, just as long as you bring your sun cream and sandals! Taba pays no attention to wintertime, with temperatures in December around the 20° Celsius mark, while summers soar 40° Celsius. With such fantastic weather throughout the year, there's really no limits on when you can go on holidays to Taba.
As UK, Courses or boosters usually advised: diphtheria; tetanus; poliomyelitis; hepatitis A; typhoid. Vaccines sometimes advised: tuberculosis; rabies; hepatitis B.
