4th visit to the royal albatros and on this occasion I found that the food was very poor not in quality but in choice the selection from restaurant to restaurant was the same from day to day grilled fish burgers chips pnc rice which over a week I would have tolerated but over the two weeks i stayed having the same limited choice in food got very boring. free wifi was very poor and very limited apart from main reception area. On a positive note staff are outstanding and work very hard in making guests feel welcome, plenty to do in and around the hotel, refurbished rooms are lovely but I do feel sorry if you get one of the older rooms these are more shabby 2star than shabby chic 5 star hotel.
Dont stay in room 622 unless you like bird poo ,,balcony and railings covered in it ,they put food out for the birds from club mac .now to mention the rooms bath room ,mould around the baths...
Dont stay in room 622 unless you like bird poo ,,balcony and railings covered in it ,they put food out for the birds from club mac .now to mention the rooms bath room ,mould around the baths sealant ,uncoverd bulbs, sockets on wall not sealed ,tap covers loose ,can hear birds in space above bathroom .nice tv but room furniture a disgrace for a5 star hotel. Major issue was thier for 2 weeks couldn't get around main pool ,towel on beds syndrome, total let down.forgot to mention big hole in ground in front of room (auditorium ) never used .now to mention good parts ,food great ,housekeeping stunning and best of all staff was brilliant ( beach bar staff stunning )(George ) still enjoyed our holiday

We booked this holiday well in advance so managed to get quite a reasonable rate. We were disappointed with the first room we were provided (1849). It was very dated and on the top floor which was awkward with the pushchair for our 2 year old. We were told to just leave the pushchair at the bottom of the stairs which isn't ideal. We were relocated to room 225 which was on the ground floor near the kids pool - better location but I would still say that it was very dated. Unsure if either of these were refurbished rooms? The active and kids pool were very lively (a bit rowdy if I'm honest) and not really our thing therefore we either visited the beach which was lovely and quiet or the relaxation pool. Was a struggle to get loungers by the pools and there were quite a lot of arguments between guests and lifeguards over the provision of loungers. The walk on the jetty out to the reef was lovely and we had an amazing time snorkelling. The lowest point for us was the quality of the food - the food was the lowest standard we have ever seen at an all inclusive resort. It was very canteen style and does seem to cater for British tastes which is not what we want when we go abroad. Our son did enjoy the pizzas and pasta which were cooked fresh and the croissants and pancakes were also great. These kept us going for the two weeks but a shame we ate so much Italian food in Egypt! The staff were all lovely and couldn't be more helpful. Overall we had a pleasant stay, however, I would definitely say that this is more of a budget family hotel rather than a 5* hotel.

Husband and myself attended this year without the grown up kids :-) 3rd visit and what a fantastic holiday . Spent a lot of the time sunbathing down the beach which was great, and snorkling in the sea -which was amazing. We both really had such a wonderful relaxing time. This year we stayed in room 307 which was great more quieter than last year we were on the opposite side of the pool , which was much noisier - the only issue we had was the ants but our wonderful cleaner was on top of it and sprayed the room daily. This year we met some lovely people (holiday makers) - but also the staff were great nothing to much trouble especially the beach bar staff they certainly kept us hydrated throughout the day- all the staff work very hard . Wifi in the hotel was a pain couldn't connect but our main man Elvis Nab Tours sorted us out - great guy and best person to organise exscersions / WIFI you won't be disappointed. The hotel itself is great and they are undertaking room renovations , understanably this will take a while to get round to all the rooms which to be honest most of them that haven't already been renovated are in need of updating - but this wasn't an issue for us - we had comfy bed plenty of good sleep . Missing hotel and the sun very much looking to go back Sep and will definatley be back next year.
