Ive been to Egypt several times now and Ive got to say this is the best hotel Ive been to! A problem I have found amongst hotels in Egypt is that of variety and quality of food and the Al A Carte restaurants really make it here, the food is gorgeous! Itd be good practise here to book into these restaurants every night, theyre completely free! This hotel is in the middle of nowhere though and at first this did put a downer on us as we like to go out and look around. But this hotel has everything you need, its own diving centre (a bit expensive compared to other places in egypt), its own shops (including my girlfiends favourite handbag shops), several of its own really good quality restaurants, its own water park (which is situated a good enough distance away from everythimg else if you dont want kids screaming all day!), several pools and its own beach! There a couple of things with this holiday that could do with a little improvement on the other hand but please dont let it turn your head as like i said before its an amazing hotel.. We personally thought the adult entertainment of a night was a bit bleak. The occasional bingo game which starts at 9 oclock (to late for my liking) and lasts for ages due to being spoken in several different languages and in turn sends you straight to sleep. There is also an egyptian singer that, in his favour knows all the words, but sounds terrible. The songs sang are also really good and would be better off just being played instead of this! But on the other hand every sunday there is a beach or pool party which are both very good!! There is also no shuttle buses into hurghada so if you want to visit, a taxi is needed and costs about £20-30 for a return journey! There are also not enough chairs of a night time around the bar and go missing far to quickly, so get there early! And finally something that isnt an improvement but in turn advice, if youre planning any excursions, dont use your reps! they simply add £20 on everything and regardless of what they say, its the exact same trip as you would be booking with people on the beach/around pool area! These guys will also give discounted trips if you block book! All in all was a really good, well enjoyed holiday and if we was to return to hurghada, these guys would be getting another call from me! Ps if youve seen that russians are also coming to this hotel, dont let it faze you, as egypt is covered in them and in this hotel theyre with their families and dont seem as bad as weve experienced in other places!

This was my 3rd visit to the SRM this time I took my mother for her 60th birthday . What can I say other than everything was perfect again. Gardens, grounds, pools all spotlessly clean. Staff all smiling & can't do enough for you . We were booked into the a la carte restaurants for 6 out of the 7 evenings of the week we stayed there & every Resturant was delicious food . I have to say the Asian is still my favourite but the steak house comes a close 2nd place! The staff of the Asian Resturant all came out ,singing & dancing for my mother holding a birthday cake which really was lovely... My review is extremely late as this holiday I am reviewing about was 2 years ago but my reason for writing this now is beciase I am going again in a few days which I can't wait ! This will be my 4th visit ! I have recommended this hotel to so many of my clients (I think over 20 now !) they have all gone & since rebooked & been back several times . Ignore any negatives you read on here . I a, a extremely fussy person when it comes to food, cleanliness & trust me I wouldn't go back if it wasn't up to my fussy standards.
Apologies for the very late review, but the memories of the Sunrise are still fresh, this was our 7th visit so our next one gives us the coveted "gold band", can't wait for that, it was going to be...
Apologies for the very late review, but the memories of the Sunrise are still fresh, this was our 7th visit so our next one gives us the coveted "gold band", can't wait for that, it was going to be October but with the big bad world kicking off again I may wait til next year, anyway, this trip was as good as every other one we have had there, the restaurants were in tip top form and great quality as is normal. it would be rude to praise an individual member of staff because again everybody just does their best to make our holiday even better. Maybe October is beckoning, I think I need another sunshine fix.
Even at Christmas you’ll be lolling around getting tanned by the pool or on the gorgeous bay itself. December temperatures for holidays to Makadi Bay average around 20° Celsius, with summers in the 40° Celsius range. The crystal-clear waters here are renowned among divers the world over for their warmth, even in winter, so that means watersports aplenty. With year round sunshine you can come on holidays to Makadi Bay at any time that suits you!
