Myself and my partner stayed at the Mercure last week and had a lovely time. We mainly went for windsurfing and found the Harry Nass centre to be excellent. We also went horse riding (there's a stables at the hotel) with Saleh (who takes rides and cares for the horses). We had a great time, the horses were lovely and well cared for. I'm an experienced rider and my partner is a beginner and there were horses suitable for both of us (my horse was keen to have a gallop on the beach which was brilliant and my partners horse carried on walking). Definitely recommended!

We arrived at the hotel, having spent a week on the Nile. Unfortunately my husband had picked up a bug and was unwell when we arrived in Hurghada. So I was relieved to find a doctor and medical room on site, which we made considerable use off and ultimately my husband spent 48 hours in hospital. The doctor was excellent, a big thank you too, to the man who arranges the taxis, so I could get to the hospital and back easily. The staff were all very concerned and were continually asking if we were OK. They were all very pleased to see him back around the pool for our last day. In terms of the hotel itself, the rooms are modern and well appointed. We were travelling with our 19 yr old twins, and had interconnecting rooms, which allowed to connect and communicate as much or as little as we wanted. We are given sea view rooms which was great, and were only a short walk from the pool. We were greeted on arrival by Cloe and Marley, who had been notified in advance that my husband was unwell, and they stepped into action to make the transfer to our room as speedy and comfortable as possible. As with other reviews, all the animation team were great. Plenty of activities to join in with, in and around the pool, but it never felt instrusive. The Fun Fly guys were great, and the kids did a number of activities with them, which I felt were all reasonably priced, especially compared to Europe. They really enjoyed the horse riding on the beach and in the desert, followed by a swim in the sea on horse back. Looks likely we'll be back again before the end of the year, so my husband can experience it all properly.

This was our 3rd visit in 12 months (17 nights, 14 nights, 14 nights) which should give an idea of how highly we rate this hotel. From the moment we arrive to the moment we leave we are made to feel so welcome and are treated almost like family. Every member of staff that we came into contact with was friendly and happy to chat when work allowed. Most staff recognised us from previous visits and we enjoyed meeting them again. We have stayed at many hotels but this hotel is just so much better. Cleaners, maintenance, gardeners, lifeguards, security, chefs, waiters, barstaff, reception, animation, management are the friendliest that we have ever met. Barstaff even remembered our drinks preferences from last visit! Plenty of space in and around pool, never an issue getting sunbeds and staff always on hand to help with the parasols if required. Food once again excellent and on fish night which I don't enjoy I was pleased to be served chicken & chips with salad but more importantly, the following week Ahmed (a waiter) reminded me that it was fish night again and arranged alternative meal again, which shows just how good the staff are. We requested the room that we had on our previous visits and this was arranged for us and hopefully we can have this room again if we manage to return for another 2 weeks in November. A large platter of fruit was sent on our 1st day and again at the start of our 2nd week which we thought was a nice touch. My wife loved the coffee served one night outside, and when the Head chef discovered it he got her a pack when he was in Hurghada and gave it to her as a gift. Special thanks to Marley & Cloe. Also Mahmoud, Ahmed, Sahal?, in restaurant, Mohammed, hussain Eheb? pool bar, Shamandy for his snacks..........but really everyone! All in all an excellent break in an excellent hotel. Accor hotel group should be proud of the staff at Mercure Hurghada.

The hotel is in a very good condition. The public areas as well as two rooms i saw were very new. The staff is very nice especially in the restaurant. I was wondering when they asked me at c/i to write my room number on my luggage outside. They have somebody to bring a welcome drink but i have to go outside again to write the room number on my luggage?! doesn´t make sense to me. Also it was funny that the staff eats together with the guests in the restaurant - never seen that before. I wanted to change three times money at the reception and they never could. Instead of a real cashier they just have a box where the money is inside. A hotel this size should have a minimum stock of 10.000 Pounds always available to change money. Also they should provide the service to sell stamps. You can only purchase them in one of the shops inside the hotel where you pay 10 pounds instead of 4 which is the actual value of the stamp. All in all a very nice stay but some things could be improved.
In Hurghada, you'll soon discover why the Ancient Egyptians didn't wear polo necks - many things have changed in Egypt in it's 5,000 years plus history, but the gorgeous weather isn't among them! From scorching summer temperatures nearing 40° Celsius to salubrious winters rarely dipping below 20° Celsius, you're guaranteed sun on Hurghada holidays. So if you want to chill by the pool or on the beach, be sure to slap on the sunscreen!
