I went to Tamaimo Tropical with three other friends on holiday for a week. For the first (and last time) we used a travel agency, specifically Thomas Cook. I WILL NEVER DO THIS AGAIN. The location is nice, and the hotel grounds are nice, however the rooms are less than up-to-par for a 3-star rated hotel. -Upon arrival at 3:00pm, we were told we could not check in because our room was being cleaned. Little did we know, that would be the first and last time it was cleaned all week. The maids would come in and re-arrange our belongings, make our beds, but never once did they wipe off any surfaces or change our sheets. Twice even, used, dirty towels were picked up off the floor, re-folded and set next to the shower. -Each of us ended up buying plastic silverware and plates, because the dishes in the cabinets were visibly dirty, and not a trace of dish detergent was in the room. -THE WIFI: do not believe the misconception that it is free. It is free for 30 MINUTES, and afterwards each person who wishes to use it must pay 25 euros per device. All 4 of us purchased WiFi for our room, only to discover that it only worked within one part of our room, and would phase in and out. -If you wish to have a chair next to the pool, you must get up early to go down and claim one. Each morning we went down around 11am to find that every chair had already been taken-- yet one morning specifically, there were 43 open chairs and only 12 actually occupied (never have I been to hotel grounds where this is acceptable or allowed). Over all, if you're expecting 3-star quality in the experience overall, avoid this hotel entirely.

My husband and I visited Hotel Tamaimo February 2015 half term with our 14 year old son. The location is good with plenty of bars and restaurants to visit nearby if you don't go for the All Inclusive option. Our room was clean and sufficient for our needs. You have to pay €10 deposit for TV remote and €31.50 for the safe in your room (you get €10 back). On the All Inclusive option there's no kitchen in the room only a fridge. You have to ask for a kettle which they don't charge for. The maid came in each day to make beds, empty bin and sweep floor. Nearly all rooms overlook the main pool area but it can get a bit noisy because the whole complex is built in a circle so the sounds of doors slamming, suitcases wheeled along floors, cleaners cleaning and kids crying etc. seem to echo a lot. All inclusive food: lots to choose from but after 3 days it's the same 'lots' to choose from. I feel the quality of the food was slightly compromised but the presentation and variety was good. The staff in the dining room work hard and fast to keep up with the amount of people coming in and out. Downside for me is the evening entertainment. A smallish room & bar (compared to size of hotel). In the summer at peak, I can't see how they would beable to seat and serve everyone. Also if you drink premium drinks, like Baileys you have to pay €1.85 but you do get a large glass. Be warned the pool is cold. Only the hardy ventured in. Seemed to be plenty of beds and not so much bed saving as some places I've been. Afternoon snacks around pool a bit lacking. Hotdogs, burgers and chips and occasionally some fried vegetables. A variety of people there: English, German, Dutch, French but mainly English. Overall very good.

We have just came back from this apartment tonight and we found the place great rooms were clean and spacious only 2 problems I had with the rooms were ants on the benches and around the sink and bath also when we got there the cup in the bathroom was used and not changed bed are comfy but TV had 2 English channels. Food we went all inclusive when we got there the food ain't that great does taste cheap especially the burgers around the bar and also the breakfast, dinner and tea food due to it catering for a lot of nationalities. Entertainment is excellent especially the man and the girl that's only been their month. they put their fully energy to make sure you feel welcome and that you are fully entertained. Security of the rooms I have read a lot of comments on here and I disagree strongly you have the option of a deposit box plus you also have the option if you want the cleaners in your room. Nothing of ours went missing. drinks well they are local drinks all inclusive is great if your children drinks quite a lot of Pop and your not fussy about named alcohol. Reception were great there more helpful then your rep as our rep tried to charge us 46 euros for transfers to lord parque and 21 euros per adult and 15 euros per child to Los Christinos which reception told us the bus number to get and how long it took for a lot cheaper plus if you go up the stairs opposite the reception their is a little shop who give you better deals / prices on things like Siam park lord parque ect all in all my family loved this place and we are currently looking at prices in August to come back to this apartments

Had a fortnight here in a one bedroomed apartment. The apartment was kept very clean and was adequately equipped. Pleasant balcony overlooking one of the pools. For the price we paid through Thomson holidays it was good value for money. We were treating it as an evening/night time retreat as we spent our days out in the country so did not use any of the facilities of the hotel except the free WiFi so cannot comment on the food etc. We could see that there were various daytime activities arranged around the pools and also a disco, also activities for children. Tended to be woken fairly early in the morning by staff wheeling trolleys past the door but otherwise not overly noisy. Staff at reception very helpful, sorted us out for car hire, translated packaged food instructions for me and always full of information. For us a good, clean, comfortable place to sleep and breakfast in. Resort small, quite pleasant but rather too touristy for us (English bars etc.), nice sea front promenade walk. We preferred the restaurants in nearby Los Gigantos, a walk or short taxi ride or drive away.
Sublime temperatures here rarely dip below 15° Celsius even in the heart of winter, with summers peaking near 30° Celsius. A conspicuous lack of rain means that you'll need to cool off by the pool, or heading down to the beach.
As UK, Courses or boosters sometimes advised: hepatitis A (not normally for package tourists).
