Great holiday, lovely hotel interior, beds very comfortable, food great, fine selection, nice pool, no problem getting a sun lounger. Holiday spoiled by getting fleeced in a scam at a shop called Videosonic, Parque Santiago 111. We bought 2 tablets and paid by debit card. When we returned to UK they had taken nearly £4000 by fraudulent means which emptied my bank account. DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR SMART TALK. The tablets should have cost £500.

Have reviewed this hotel many times as I have been back year after year sine 2001. Why do I keep returning? Because the hotel caters for the likes of me. Yes the clientele are mostly the older generation. Yes quite a number of these are infirm in some way or another. But we all recognise a good thing when we see it and the Vulcano fits the bill. The staff throughout the hotel are a credit to the management. This time in particular I would like to praise Pedro the soceristo. A couple of our friends were in need of help. One fell rather badly and the other had difficulty breathing. On both occasions Pedro ran to their assistance, gave first aid, called for a doctor and organised an ambulance to take them to hospital. Well done Pedro, we were very thankful and impressed. Management take note. The hotel must start the repairing of the rendering inside and outside of the building and soon. This on close inspection seems to be falling off and could be quite dangerous if it was to hit a guest. I understand work will be starting shortly and done in stages. Perhaps management could give us an update here and now, as quite a few of us are wondering if we should find another hotel next year. The last thing a holiday maker wants is maintenance disturbance. I did stay at the sister hotel the Arona Gran in March this year. This is a bigger hotel, hence a larger sunbathing area and more choice of food. However, the staff were nowhere near as friendly and the area isn't very nice. Also the entertainment there was rubbish compared to the Vulcano. So there you have it, another review from me on the Vulcano.
Cannot fault anything with this hotel the only thing is that they have shades over the sunbeds and it is very uniformed around the pool there could be more space but obviously the size of the hotel...
Cannot fault anything with this hotel the only thing is that they have shades over the sunbeds and it is very uniformed around the pool there could be more space but obviously the size of the hotel doesn't allow this for the amount of sunbeds. This hotel has a lot of people with mobility problems so it tends to be a little like scooter city (mobility that is) but if your ok with that that's fine . The entertainment is for the older person and it is not really for children, I would not take younger children even though there is a pool for them. We have visited this hotel many times and also over the xmas and new year however we would not do xmas anymore it is a lot more money and the times we have been nothing different happens and the entertainment was not that great. You get the ususal Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers on dance showing off their dancing skills -great but if your not that way inclined can be a giggle to watch

There's little rain here except for the odd shower in winter, and it's permanently humid: 17° Celsius on average at New Year compared with temperatures in the late 20s° Celsius by the summer apex. The water temperature is also constantly warm, and fresh Atlantic breezes stave off any oppressive heat.
As UK, Courses or boosters sometimes advised: hepatitis A (not normally for package tourists).
