My husband and I are just home from 12night holiday and it was just the best, the staff are so friendly and helpful no problem is to hard to solve, the restuarant is spotless with plenty of choice ,it is hot as well as I am the person that is at the microwave never needed to,entertainment was really good compared to other hotels we have been to,location is brilliant so close to shops, beach and night life it is also on the flat so if you have mobility problems, the hotel is better catered for a bit older clientele, and if you can afford it go for a pool view room as the views are lovely if you have a high level room,we just went for a standard room which I may say the room was lovely and large we had no view so we paid to upgrade (which would have been cheaper if we had done in the uk) and it was worth every euro, would highly recommend this hotel .

We will start with the good points. Fantastic location with two good sized heated pools, excellent 24hr reception. Food was of a good standard and we did see towels being removed from the sunbeds. The price of the drinks was reasonable. We did pay the extra for the room with the extended balcony, with this we had complimentary water every day and on the first day a bottle of bubbly in the mini bar (Thank you) tea and coffee provided and free use of the safe and some towels. (Deposit required for safe) Also the mini bar is available to keep things cool. Bad points. When we arrived in the room the previous person had been ill down the back of the toilet and this had not been cleaned, not what I wanted to clean on my first day. The aircon is weak and WiFi does not work outside of reception. The thing that annoyed me the most is the shower. When we have been in previous 4 star hotels they have had the walk in showers, as we would shower two or three times a day I was not happy to find we had to stand in and old 80s bath and use a shower hung from the wall. This was never hot and the pressure varied whilst you tried to use it. The hot water and WiFi both broke down completely on same day. We were woken two mornings at 7:00am buy workmen working in the grounds. Then we were woken at midnight by the pipes to the Aircon in our room leaking water through the ceiling making a puddle on the floor. The engineer did attend quickly but could not fix it till the next day. I know this type of thing can happen and is not the hotels fault, just another thing we did not need on holiday. When we ate at lunchtime you can order drinks, most days we had finished the main course before they arrived, we can see them getting warm sat on the end of the bar. Finally why does the hotel still insist in making male diners wear long trousers for the evening meal? I would like to stay at this hotel again but will wait till it has an update, it is advertised as an A La Carte four star, but until it has been updated it does fall short of this.

My husband and I have just returned from The Hotel Vulcano. Our room (558) was spacious, clean but old fashioned decor. Most of the staff were pleasant and helpful. The food good enough but we are out 4/7 nights because there are so many good quality restaurant nearby that we like. Around the pool there is a rule that if you put towels outVal John sunbeds before 10am you must be on the dubbed or they will be removed but we were awakening to see adults perched on sunbeds at 7am. They would then go in for breakfast one at a time to keep the beds. I would like management to explain why gentlemen have to wear long trousers for dinner yet young women can enter with shorts barely covering their bottom and tiny tops. My husband's YSL dress shorts would have been most appropriate and I feel that the dresscode police have this wrong and it is outdated. Hotel has a good offer for beauty treatments. As a 2nd time at Spring Hotels you get a Spring discount card for %discount on your bill. The hotel had a good entertainment programme during the day for teens/adults. Some guests felt the animation team member walking around the pool with a rifle over his shoulder looking for participants for the shooting was inappropriate given what had just happened in Tunisia. The night time entertainment was ok however, Jeff Leyton ex John Val John in LesMiserables was fantastic. Not a hotel for children in my view. Good hotel, good location. Needs upgrading inside and outside ( the roughcasting is falling off the building all over which makes it look tired). I would still recommend it to adults.
The Vulcano is a nice hotel, though it definitely needs upgrading. The rooms are clean enough but could be better. By the end of the week the room is very dusty ! The staff in the bar are very nice...
The Vulcano is a nice hotel, though it definitely needs upgrading. The rooms are clean enough but could be better. By the end of the week the room is very dusty ! The staff in the bar are very nice , Mattia is very good at his job and always remembers your drink order from previous night. Muhammed and Clodagh are also very nice. Restaurant staff quite pleasant and work very hard and your table is always cleared swiftly, ready for your next course. Reception staff are ok though Roberto was very pleasant and helpful. If you have any kind of problem it is dealt with quickly. Food in restaurant is plentiful and something to suit everyone. Some food at breakfast though was cold sometimes . Pool area very busy and sunloungers very close together. I thought the hotel had a policy of removing towels from loungers that were not occupied early in the morning, but I did not see this happening. Two loungers in front of me had towels on them before 10 o' clock and the people appeared at 3pm. Totally unacceptable ! My only other complain is the courtesy room. Shocking ! Two couples had been in before us and dirty towels were lying on floor, the bin was overflowing with their rubbish and toiletries left in bathroom. If you are a spring card holder this is supposed to entitle you to late check out - but obviously not. Entertainment not the best apart from Jeff Leyton who is excellent. The hotel is in a good location and 5min walk from all the nice shops and restaurants. The air conditioning in room was not the best. Overall a nice hotel, but if you are thinking of going check out reviews first. It is a quiet hotel, not rowdy .
