We have used the" Vulcano" on many occasions the latest being February this year, unfortunately the hotel has become a victim of it's own success. When arriving at lunchtime do not expect your room to be ready, quite often a 90 min' wait, alternatively you can be sent to sister hotels either the Bitacora or the Aron Gran and then move back 2/3 days later. Because of this high occupancy rate other problems occur, 3 separate visits in the last year totaling 9 weeks have resulted in viral infections going through the hotel, this happened in August/September/October 2014 and January/February 2015 with many clients of all nationalities suffering. The possible solution would be to close the hotel to allow a thorough cleansing of the rooms as the housekeeping is not all it should be. When getting to our room which was not as requested, the hairdrier needed replacing, the shower adjustment bar had to be replaced as after the shower was switched on the pressure of the water meant that it slipped down to bath level, TV remote falling apart, so nothing had been checked before issuing he room to us. Food quality not what it used to be, the lounge entertainment.hasn't changed in the last 3 years that's if you can get a seat because all the people in apartments nearby come over to dance so you can't see the show if you wanted to because the pillars block the only seats left.

Overall we had a very good week away in Tenerife…and the Vulcano catered for most of our needs very well; but – as always – these reviews are pointless unless they are candid! The first thing to say is that the staff were splendid…the food was generally of a good standard…and the rooms were very comfortable…except for the PILLOWS…and the AIR-CONDITIONING! When I go away, I look forward to few nights of good quality sleep! I am astounded that a hotel of this general calibre is happy to provide such a poor quality of pillow! There were long thin soft foam pillows in cases open at both ends…that gave no support whatsoever! And then there was the air-conditioning that really did not work! It whirred away hopefully; but did little to lower the night-time temperature effectively. We were blessed with a good week’s weather, and we needed the air-conditioning at night. The result was patchy sleep. These things matter. Of slightly lesser consequence was the erratic cleaning of the room. The room was never swept…the bath was not always cleaned properly…and the brakes were taken off the bed’s four wheels each day that meant that each night I had to grovel around on the floor to lock them back in place again! On watching the television from my bed, I would find myself disappearing nightly between bed and headboard until I remembered to perform this nightly duty! At this point you may be smiling (or at least I hope you are) but these were the niggles that mattered quite a lot at the time. It is sad, because otherwise we had a very good week away, and we were very happy with the Hotel’s facilities. Yes, the age profile is high; but that is not necessarily a problem. Mealtime can be a bit of a scrum if you hit the rush hour; but the staff were very efficient and the variety of food ‘good’. It was good to see one or two 3 generation families around the pool (it was half-term week) but I was left wondering what it would all be like in high summer. All of the above would matter even more. But it was a good week: we had good weather…the falling Euro made the ‘extras’ good value…and ‘Happy Hour’ (between 6 & 7 in the evening) helped to make it a good respite from the UK in February! Everything is relative!

Just returned from a week at the vulcano. This hotel never fails to deliver. Many guests are return visitors and more on the older side. They know when they are on to a good thing. The hotel is centrally located,it us kept spotlessly clean. The food is excellent with many choices so there is always something to suit at dinner. The breakfast is excellent with many choices. The staff at the hotel are always very helpful. There are daytime activities and in the evening music for dancing and then a cabaret act. We especially enjoyed the wonderful Jeff Leyton who used to star in Les Miserables we had a fabulous evening and would certainly recommend this hotel and return again when we can.

Stayed for two weeks ending 23rd Jan and had to move as hotel fully booked. Would really have liked several more weeks. However at another adults only hotel now so further review will follow. Every thing at the Spring Vulcano was superb. We had a pool view room which was so worth paying the extra, food was excellent with so much choice and entertainment was good. Finally the Vulcano is in a perfect location, all flat and good position for walking left towards Los Cristianos or right to Los Americas. Definately recommend it
There's little rain here except for the odd shower in winter, and it's permanently humid: 17° Celsius on average at New Year compared with temperatures in the late 20s° Celsius by the summer apex. The water temperature is also constantly warm, and fresh Atlantic breezes stave off any oppressive heat.
As UK, Courses or boosters sometimes advised: hepatitis A (not normally for package tourists).
