Our first time at Pearly Grey having stayed in Callao before. The place was very neat and cared for, and the staff were exceptional. The view of the sea is impressive, especially from the Edge bar which was a very comfortable place to sit and have a drink or two. Food at the main restaurant was very nice, especially their "Double English" breakfasts and their Sunday roast. Had a well-appointed one-bed apartment overlooking the pool which looked like it had been recently refurbed. No air-conditioning, but the fans in lounge and bedroom were perfectly adequate, and even though I have trouble sleeping in the heat, the fans running 24/7 were sufficient. Bathroom was styled as a wet-room, and the walk-in shower was very welcome. Overall the place was very restful and quiet, apart from between 9pm and midnight, when the evening cabaret was on, and then from midnight until around 1am while drunken guests continued their shouted conversations under our balcony. Despite that, I would stay here again.

We have been to Pearly Grey a few times now and it is always exceptionally tidy and clean. The staff are always polite and very helpful, especially Gemma and Natalia on Reception. The apartments are very modern and are cleaned every day by the maid service which is very good. The Housekeeper came and checked that everything was satisfactory for us and we had everything we needed. The views are stunning and the pool areas are cleaned everyday. The Restaurant staff are very helpful and the food is delicious.Would definitely recommend a stay here. We are looking forward to returning next year to our seafront apartment for the first time.

The Pearly Grey Situated on the edge of the rocks / sea this hotel / holiday club has very nice sea views and is situated in the quiet village of Callao Salvaje. There are a few restaurants nearby offering various cuisines. There are also four small supermarkets all within a three to five minute walk our favourite being the Hiperdino. Local buses are available and the bus stop is only a few minutes walk away. There is a lovely coastal walk which meanders along the cliffs and takes you to the next village. (30 mins) We have relatives who are members here and we were invited to stay here for a week in June before deciding if we wanted to purchase into the scheme (time share / RCI points or the new scheme Fractions). We paid a promotional price of £150 for the privilege, and agreed to attend a 2-3 hour presentation. On arrival we were checked in and were allocated our apartment. Our first impression was that although nicely decorated and furnished this was a very very small room. Although a lovely view of the sea. But the lounge area was very claustrophobic. Bathroom was very modern and spacious Our bedroom was nice and although on the fifth floor we were still quite close to the bar area and a little concerned that the noise level might be unbearable if we went to bed before 12 midnight as the bar closes at this time. No need to worry as there is no entertainment on a Friday so it was relatively quiet although we had to close the Balcony doors. There is no air conditioning in the rooms here but there are ceiling fans. However I still got very hot during the night. (Fans and Air Con units are available for an additional charge) Compact and bijoux would be a good description of this one bed studio apartment. Our Rep was due to call in on us on Saturday morning which she did, I explained my concerns about our apartment and she very kindly offered to see if there was something bigger for us to move too. She found us a larger two bed apartment and explained we would have to pay a 150 Euro upgrade fee. On seeing our new apartment I was very happy to pay this. Our new two bedroom apartment on the first floor is absolutely fantastic. As you walk in to the lounge area you cannot fail to be impressed with the decor and furnishings. ( this has recently been refurbished) There is a fully equipped open plan kitchen and off the lounge are two bedrooms one has an en suite while the other shares a family bathroom. My partner's room faced towards the car park. My room was next to the bar and faced the swimming pool with a sea view. There was also a Bed settee in the lounge area which is very comfortable. Toaster, kettle and filter coffee machine as well as an oven, microwave and full size fridge freezer forms part of the open plan kitchen along with sink and drainer. There is plenty of cupboard space for you to store your groceries. A vast array of utensils cutlery and crockery also available. The floor is made up of neutral coloured tiles which are cool to the feet after spending a day in the sun. I must say that we had to wait until 11.30pm to go to bed once the bar had quietened down. If you want a room away from the bar area. I would suggest the lower decks. Some views are absolutely fantastic while others not so, but these rooms are much quieter. A nice size TV is mounted on the wall in the lounge. We were able to get BBC ITV and C4. There were no additional TV's in the bedrooms although I understand in some other apartments there maybe additional TV's available. There is a Bar / Restaurant that sits in the middle of the complex, that serves a varied menu and is good value for money. You can charge food and drinks to your apartment which is a great facility to have, so no need to carry money around with you. However, they don't sell ice creams on site. So you have to go over the road to the supermarket with is only a minutes walk away. (Cash needed) No smoking inside the hotel or restaurant but outside the lovely seating area could be split in two. Smoking and Non Smoking tables. Nothing worse than just about to eat and someone lights up. Down by the cliff / sea there is another restaurant called The Edge. Ali and Ruth our servers make the best Iced Coffees you have ever tasted, they are absolutely divine. They serve Tapas and various other dishes here. Food is prepared in the new kitchen and is to a very high standard. They also hold a Canarian evening here at The Edge on a Monday night this consisted of a starter of cheese and freshly baked rolls main course was chicken kebabs with salad and Canarian potatoes and for dessert we had profiteroles. Also included was Wine, draught Beer or Sangria all for just 25 Euros per head. Our glasses were always being topped up. This was a fantastic night and well worth the money. A large heated swimming pool (24 degrees) was never busy but regularly cleaned. Sun beds are made of white plastic with blue liners are plentiful lots of umbrellas. Never ever had to reserve a bed although we did see some people doing this from 8.30-9.00am. There is a lovely little kiddies play area fenced off from the pool area. Did not go in here but seeing the kids play I guess they enjoyed it. On site there is a gym which costs 5 euros per day or 20 euros for a weeks membership. Well equipped and open 9-5 Monday to Friday 10-1 on a Saturday and closed on a Sunday. Girls If you fancy getting your hair done or want a pedicure, manicure or your eye lashes plucked, tinted or extended then there is Jazzy, Hair and Beauty. For us men if we want a wet shave or your hair cut Jordan is on hand to accommodate you from 5 euros. There is poolside entertainment most days but not on a Friday or Saturday. This consists of quizzes and various games. If you want somewhere a little quieter than the lower deck is for you. There are plenty of sun beds here at the Pearly Grey so need to get up early and rush downstairs to reserve them. ( we were told that poolside entertaining had been suspended due to the member of staff being on holiday) The housekeeping department are fantastic and our apartment was very clean and left tidy. On two occasions a housekeeper came round to check that the maids had done a good job. Wi-Fi. 5 euros per device per week. We had two mobile phones and were able to get a signal almost everywhere within the complex. Never had any issues with bad reception. You will be given a token with username and password don't loose it as you may need to re enter the details onto your device during your stay. One thing I didn't like and this a personal thing. It seems that if you are a member or not a member. Every time you visit the Pearly Grey you have an obligatory two to three hour meeting with a rep who will try to sell you additional travel products. (RCI Travel Points, Timeshare or Fractions) Throughout the week it is very visible that these guys are going through this weeks guests. You will see various meetings taking place around the hotel. Our rep was very good, very knowledgable But unfortunately for her I didn't buy anything, and my bank balance breathed a sigh of relief. This is a nice hotel, holiday club very clean, staff are what you would wish for courteous and very polite. Food is good value. Entertainment most nights from 9pm to 11.30pm is of a good standard. I must say that the majority of people that we spoke to had been members here for a number of years and love coming back year after year. We have just returned from a 2 week stay at Pearly Grey. The hotel is in an excellent location right on the coast looking over the rocks. The pool area is excellently maintained. Most mornings my wife and I watched the staff cleaning the whole pool and sun lounger area from our balcony which looked over the pool area and the sea. We ate there a couple of times and the food was good. The bar prices are about what you would expect for the area, local spirits are quite a lot cheaper than well known brands. The room was excellent and cleaned on a regular basis. We had a minor issue with the shower but it was rectified within an hour. The best thing about the hotel was the staff, from Gemma and William on reception to the bar and restaurant staff to the cleaning and maintenance staff were all so polite and helpful. We will definately be back. Thanks for a great stay
Costa Adeje holiday mean sun, and lots of it! The temperature here doesn't vary too much, with winter lows circa 15 to 20° Celsius, and summer highs nearing 30° Celsius. There's not much rain either, so if you want to get wet, dive into the pool or the warm Atlantic waters!
