Hi just got back from a weeks all inclusive stay at Sol Lanzarote, after reading some of the reviews about the food, I was starting to worry, but got no complaints at all over the food, lots of choices, from breakfast to evening meal, fresh meat cooked in front of you for lunch and tea, and always tasted delicious, lots of different foods available, even for the children, fresh cooked omelettes in front of you, to your choice of ingredients. Lots of fresh fruit, and yogurts, chocolate fountain, fresh bread cooked on sight, lots of different types. The waiters/ waitress always smiling, and very friendly, couldn't do enough to help you. The accommodation was very good to, very spacious, could do with air conditioning, but we managed, it wasn't to uncomfortable, even tho we didn't have a sea view, it was facing the McDonalds, but that was fine, lots of stray cats who are friendly, don't bother you for food, don't come into your room even when the door was open, the cleaners came in every day to mop the floors, change the towels, the bed got changed once, sheets were lovely and crisp, the only cocker roach I saw was coming in front the beach by the door, but it was already dead, (phew). As the hotel was closing for refurbishment the day after we left, the week we stayed, we did have to much trouble finding a sun bed, but one morning 5:30 am my husband went for a run along the beach, and he saw a lady carrying a handful of towels to put on the sun beds, ( why oh why ). The only negative comment I can make is when you check in surely there should be porters who could show you where about your rooms are, or even still, take you, as we both were walking round for a good 30 minutes, asking different people, following the map, even went back to the reception a couple of times. One of the ladies who was on reception, was a very friendly lady, who sorted out our trouble with Jumbo tours (wouldn't go with them again), she went out of her way to sort the problem out, even printed our boarding card free of charge as we had already checked in, very friendly and helpful, I had to go back to the reception later on and the lady had gone home and there was a short guy, who was not as friendly. I would defiantly go back to this hotel with out hesitation, even priced it for next year, as my 3 children, aged 13, 16, and 20 loved the FaceTime videos we showed them. But it's a bit out of price range with 5 of us going, but would love to take them there, so they could see how much we enjoyed our stay. We even ventured out at one point and got the number 3 bus, to the old town as there was a small market on the Friday, only €2:40 for the 2 of us, even went on the sat to, but no market but proper shops to walk round. The entertainment was also to a high standard, in the day time for the kids and also of a night, the best night we enjoyed was the Mama Mia, thought it was brill, really entertaining, even sang all the way thru, the only night we didn't enjoy the entertainment, was the lady and the man, doing some drunk scene, then the acrobatic type, wasn't very impressive.

We as a family of 2 adults & 2 kids (16 & 11) are only back from are stay (8th of August - 22nd). I think Sol is a bit of a mixed bag really a number of points 1. Size of room - very small for 4 people 2. Pull out bed very uncomfortable had to ask to a extra mattress 3. Floors very dirty- on arriving into the room - no cleaning supplies eg cloths, brush ect- I had to buy them 4. Food terrible and very over priced - I'm delighted we didn't go all inclusive extremely poor. 5. Pool area cleaned every morning & evening but around the pool is very slippery don't know how many people fell in front of me- I also fell and was left with a mark on my knee which I think will leave a mark I complained to staff but they didn't care. for health & safety reasons they need no slip mats around the pool. 6. My kids didn't do the kids club but I have to say it looked brilliant lots to do. 7. Entertainment during the day around the pool was very good everyone can take part. Evening Entertainment was enjoyable. Entertainment staff are brilliant . 8. Beach on your doorstep & very clean 9. Local Spar right beside you. 10. wasn't mad on the restaurants however I would really recommend a Mexican called Bandido's a bit pricey but big portions and very fresh products used. if you come out of the hotel and take the right towards the little shopping centre its right on the corner. 11. sorry nearly forgot you will need to get up at 6ish if you want to get a sunbed and I'm not messing its terrible people are putting towels on beds and going to the beach for the day and the hotel staff do nothing. so if you want a bed set the alarm. 12. Your just out (right beside the airport) side the old town about €5 in a taxi 13. You have to pay for wifi but have to say its not brilliant Would I go back to Sol - Have to say No Would I recommend - Maybe for small families

Just had a pleasant week with two small children (6 and 4 year olds). Rooms were big and comfortable, and the food was very good - plenty of choice. It was clean and pretty well maintained. The design of the hotel complex kept the strong winds mostly away from the pool area. Fun, and quality evening entertainment. Hotel staff were fairly impersonal, and maybe cool towards you, but it wasn't an issue. Some good coach trips out, though Mr.Thomas Cook Rep. sent us the wrong way to catch our coach. Do check at reception!! Don't bother with transfers from airport. We used taxis - around 12euros for a six-seater, and a five minute trip. We also got ahead of the coaches and checked in first going home! Hotel called the cab which arrived 3 minutes later. Great. Yes, there were issues with people reserving sunbeds with towels early ( well before 7am ) and then not using them until they came back after lunch. So gripes really with selfish people, but hotel staff fairly powerless to respond. There were never enough sun beds, but we managed to get by the three pools somehow. We were all-inclusive - which they withdrew at 12.00noon on your check-out day, even if you were still there for some hours before transfer to airport. Pretty mean trick (as you didn't get told that until check out) and THINK AGAIN Sol Lanzarote - consider the ill feeling that was around at midday against what food you must throw away at the end of the day. It will make very little difference to you. Some people managed to keep their wrist bands and may or may not have felt guilty about helping themselves anyway. Good holiday though at the height of the season. Thank you Thomas Cook, and thank you for making our change from Tunisia as easy as it was.

Stayed for ten nights all inclusive , ate out for five of them, the food was poor , the eating areas were not very clean . The bedroom room was very spacious , my daughter mentioned her bedding had not been changed for the whole duration . The bedroom/ bathroom floor was filthy , hairy fluff from day one which certainly belonged to the previous holidaymakers or perhaps even the ones before them ! Take extra wet wipes to clean your feet before you leave the room - filthy Drinks provided in the all inclusive package very poor . This is my first review ever and I have been on a few holidays ! Oh and set your alarm for 5:30 am or you ain't a hope in hell of getting a sun bed , instead we opted to pay 20 euros and spend quite a few days on the beach ! Certainly in need of the refurbishment which I believe is pretty imminent . Shame we we're not told about this before they took our money as I would have went elsewhere !
