The rooms were nice and spacious, fresh towels every day, the cleaner did come in, but other than making the beds, not sure what else she done as floors were filthy. We had a front room right above the main entrance which was exceptionally noisy, we were woken up in the very early hours every morning by all the delivery trucks, and coaches arriving all hours. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, pools were nice and clean, but if you want a sunbed I think you need to be out there about 4am. We used the gym and hired some bikes which was good. The restaurant was not great, it was full of flies all the time, I think they need to install some kind of bug zapper, as the flies were sitting on the raw meat that was waiting to be cooked, then flying on to the prepared meals. A few times the meat was not cooked properly and the female chefs did not seem to cook anything through, when they dished the omelettes up they were still all runny. I had a very upset stomach the last 3 days which I think was from an undercooked frankfurter. The waiters are very keen to clear your plates, my husband was still in the middle of eating his pudding and the dishes were whipped away. There are a few shops within a 5-10 mins walk away but if you want to go into the main town of Puerto Del Carmen it was an hours walk away, so you can get a cab from hotel and it comes within about a minute and depending on where they drop you off it is between 4-6 euros. You definitely need a cardigan in the evening, it is extremely windy all the time which makes it very difficult to stay on the beach, as it feels like you are in a sand storm. I suggest for any trips you use 'Last Minute Travel' they are dotted around town, we used them to do the Sunday market trip & we had a guide on board who told you all about the Island, it was only 4 euros each, whereas the hotel charged 12 each and obviously your travel company would be more. Also one last thing the Wi-Fi was way too expensive.

This hotel was spaces and very good quality. The Kids Club is very good and very entertaining for young children. The bedroom/apartment was a good size. However we had to young boys aged 8 & 6 and it was fine for them. If your children were older it would be crowded. The pool area is lovely with lots of different places to sit.. We had a very enjoyable holiday.

I always say," you get what you pay for", however in this instance that definately does not apply. I booked this holiday through Jet 2, it cost £3,800.00 for 2 weeks bed and breakfast. To put it bluntly, I was Robbed, this hotel is barely a 3 Star, no way on God's fine earth is it 4 star. I sincerely mean this, the place is poorly put together. I am in construction and know cheap fixtures and fittings. I was stunned on entering my room, I had just passed a dead cockeroach outside, then I saw nothing but tatty worn out furnature, rusty fridge, ceiling staines in the bathroom, the list goes on. I took my shoes off, as my feet were hot, then sat down, my wife asked me what were on the bottom of my socks, honestly they were filthy. I am an extremely fair person and have travelled extensively since I was in my teens, I am now 58 and have seen everything worth seeing. If you have been to Mexico, particularly in the 80s, you will know what I mean. I have been to India and paid 65 pence for a room per night, I know rough accomodation when I see it. There are 2 hotels either side of this Sol Lanzarote, the Hotel Beatriz Playa & Spa and Los Jameos Playa, they are definately 4 star, this Sol Lanzarote does not come within a country mile of these two. Everything is literally worn out, but it couldn't have been that good to begin with, it looks cheap every where. I am shocked any one can rate this place worth returning to unless they paid peanuts to come. I actually blame Jet 2, they sold the Holiday and it is them that have rated it 4 star, they have robbed me blind and they will not get away with that. I can only say the whole experience is shocking for the money paid. If I had a choice to go to any hotel, I just would not have chosen one this poor, I have stayed in enough of those when I couldn't afford anything else. The food was average, but for me the staff were very good, I think they are really streched, the Quality Manager did his best, but it is difficult to flog a DEAD horse. I had no bad experiences with any member of staff, the reception team were very helpful, in fact all the hotel staff worked hard. We were moved to a different room the next day that was much better, that was where the 3 star came from. Carlos, God bless him, at the desk was perplexed when my wife burst into tears, incidently, my wife is no wimp, it takes something to move her to tears!!! I wasn't the only person unhappy, one family wanted to go soon as they saw the rooms. I was told that the high winds cause dirt to get into the rooms, but with one cleaner doing 25 rooms, tough job!

This was a last minute holiday option for us. We were looking for a hotel next to the beach and most of all affordable. I wasn't too impressed with the hotel when we first walked in,but this has changed over the next few days that we were there. PROS: Near the airport. Since this was a short break we did not want long airport transfer time. This hotel was very near the airport, in fact we could cycle from the hotel to the airport itself. There is a coastal path for cyclists and pedestrians that runs from the center of PDC right up to Arrecife all the way to Costa Teguise. At one point I tried to keep up with a plane as it was gaining speed to take off...that was fun! Reception. The receptionists were polite and helpful and can speak English. The check in was swift, however the room was not ready when we arrived (it was midday). We were then advised to proceed to the pool snack bar, as we said we were hungry by then. The Room. Massive in size. Clean. The bed and beddings were crispy clean and very comfortable to sleep. There was a good sized wardrobe with a full lenght sized mirror door. In the room there was a small fridge(no freebies, even a bottle of water) and a flat screen TV,with english channels. The balcony (we were on the top floor) was sea view and was facing one of the pools. We got to see one of their apartment rooms, it comes with a small kitchen and a sliding door that makes it a 2 bedroom unit, good for a small family or a group of friends Food. Fresh and comes in different variety. The food was very flavourful,in fact we never had any bland meal the whole time we were there. Even the salads tasted really nice. They also had a cooking station...any meat, fish, pasta. The desserts were fab. Location. Location. Location. Location. Next to a clean, beautiful beach. 100% love the location. CONS: ** The hotel looked like it is due for a new paint and updating job. The paint in our bathroom and on the exteriors of the hotel appears faded. ** The bar and entertainment area near the reception looks tired and dated. ** Toilets in the lobby and near the pool were not very clean, and it smells. ** The Cooking station. As much as we loved the food, there were instances when the fish, the turkey we had were raw/was not cooked properly. **The Bar. We are used to going AI in previous hotels we have stayed before where we can just walk up to the bar and order anything we fancy. However here,,because they don't just cater to AI clients, the AI selection of drinks were very limited. You can pay an extra 12 euro/day if you wanted ultimate AI in drinks...i dnt know what it covers. But for me AI should be plain AI..not getting there and finding out that I have paid for a partial AI. **Lift/Elevator is small, dated and dirty. The only reason why We would not go back to this hotel is because we don't like getting confused. We always prefer going AL because we can't be bothered taking cash with us in the hotel and we like the convenience of eating and drinking whatever we fancy knowing that everything is already paid before we even set foot in the hotel itself. And also, there is only 1 restaurant, 1 bar, 1pool bar,so there is not much variety or choices. We heard that they are making this an all inclusive only hotel in the future but if that happens, We don't know how one restaurant can handle the number of people coming in to have their meals. When we were there, there was always a long queu of people waiting at the cooking station. And at night, there was a longerrrrrr queu at the AI side (yes, there were 2 sides, the AI section and non AI section) of the one and only bar that the hotel have. However, if you fancy a variety of food or scenery outside of the hotel, main PDC is only less than 10 min walk away. If you go the other side, 2 min away from the hotel is a lovely square of shops and restaurants, including a Spar, for anything else you need. Here you can find bike or car hire shops, souvenirs shops or local women who braids hair for a small fee.
