The hotel is conveniently located close to shops and only a 5 minute walk to the beach. It is a large site with the rooms in blocks set around the pool areas. The room we had was perfect for two adults and two young children. It was a good size with a balcony and one bedroom, the children slept on the couches, which converted into beds. The hotel is clean and well maintained. I have seen other reviews where people have complained about cockroaches. We were on the third floor and we didn't see any in the room. On our visit I only saw one the whole time, which was outside. We went all inclusive and considering the mass catering they deal with in the main restaurant, the food was excellent. There was plenty of it and each day there was a good choice. The roast dinners were particularly worthy of a positive mention. We went for a week which wasn't long enough to be bored with the food, but if I had stayed longer I would hope for a greater variety. A couple of things that did disappoint were the pools and the additional charges. The water in the swimming pools was absolutely freezing, even when the weather was hot. The water in the deepest pool was so cold we couldn't stay in it. The shallower pool was just about bearable for a short period. If there is any way the temperature could be increased by a few degrees, maybe by use of solar panels then I would recommend this is investigated. I found the additional charges frustrating as well. My preference would be to have the cost of the safe , TV remote control (which I had to ask for at reception and pay a deposit), English TV channels other than Sky News and wi-fi included in the price of the room. These should be considered as suggestions for improvement rather than complaints, as none of them would prevent me from staying there again. The hotel's greatest asset is it's staff, who were absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately both our children became ill whilst we were away resulting in them both needing to go into hospital. Their illness was in not in any way related to our stay at the hotel. As a result of this we had more contact with the reception staff than we would normally. In each and every case they were brilliant: nothing was ever too much trouble. Whilst all the reception staff were very helpful and professional I would particularly like to thank Kim and Evelynne, who could not have done more to help us. They both went that extra mile, which was very much appreciated. When we go back to Lanzarote again we will want to stay at Locos again, which I would highly recommend.

I visited this hotel with a friend at the start of June and we had a lovely time. Having read some of the reviews just before we arrived we were dreading the possibility of cockroaches in the room. Although I did hear others complaining about them around the swimming pool, luckily we didn't have any as we had a lovely 3rd floor room overlooking the pool in one direction and the sea from the stairwell at the back. The room was big, spacious and had all amenities - even a cooker, microwave, lots of plates, cutlery, cups etc. The cleanliness of the room was a bit iffy in places - especially the bathroom. There didn't appear to be much attention to detail. The room was cleaned daily apart from Wednesday and Friday - which was a bit of pain as we were leaving on a Thursday and had late check out so they didn't bother to clean the room. Therefore our towels weren't changed for 2 days. We always found the reception very helpful so if we had asked, undoubtedly they would have provided us with more. We didn't pay extra for the safe, but locked valuables in our suitcases and this was perfectly fine. My only negative about the room was that considering we had paid £30ish for late checkout and we checked at reception when this gave us until and they said 6pm. Therefore I found it a bit cheeky when the cleaner let herself into our room at 5pm to clean. When she saw we were in there she apologised and left only to ring the doorbell again at 5.50pm and asked us to leave. We were just hanging around wasting time really as our flight wasn't until much later, but considering we'd paid extra I found it unfair. Oh and also to include air con or a ceiling fan in the living room area. We had a ceiling fan in the bedroom which was ok, but air con would have been better. The food in the restaurant was pretty much what you'd expect from hotel food, very much samey. However there was always something for everyone. There were several theme nights, chinese, carvery, spanish, italian, which helped provide something different. But there were also the few staple foods available every night, mainly chips (even available at breakfast!), pizza etc. The carvery night was a favourite of mine. We visited the al a carte restaurant which was very odd! It is made so exclusive, you have to book before you go, have to be over 16 and they only book one party in every 20 mins. However when we arrived we didn't know if we were in the right place. The restaurant was completely empty, with no one to be seen. A member of staff eventually arrived and seated us around the corner where there was one other table there. Other tables arrived in their allotted slot and we were all cramped into one small part of the empty restaurant. We felt the reps were very good at letting us know about excursions etc but we were never given any information about entertainment. We didn't know what was going on or where and only managed to stumble across it on two occasions (fire show and a michael jackson tribute). I just wish this information would have been more accessible to us. There are two pools - the main pool and the 'quiet' pool. I thought with the quiet pool no children would be there but there were still a lot so I didn't feel there was much difference between the two. The pools were absolutely freezing cold, unlike any other pools I've experienced but were good for a cool down. We went on two excursions. One to the teguise market (i think £16ish) and one to Fuerteventura (£40ish). There is a local bus to the market that costs 3x less (which we found out after the event) but booking through thomson meant we had a tour guide and we also had a little -optional- visit to a castle. We absolutely loved our visit to Fuerteventura. We paid the £10 extra to have food included which I would recommend as there isn't anywhere else to really get food and it meant you didn't have to leave everyone else. It started out with a boat trip over, where we got to see the tropical fish through the glass bottom. When we had finished our boat trip we were taken to the town centre and given 1h30m to look around. there was a beautiful beach and a busy strip (much busier than Teguise). We then returned to the coach and went to the dunes which were absolutely stunning. Then we had lunch and then giving about 2hrs to enjoy the beach, just off of the dunes. We then returned back to the hotel in time for tea. We enjoyed our time: the room, pools and excursions were lovely and there was always something to do. The location was good, with the sea just over the road and some shops. But I think as it was out of school holidays it was very quiet. One thing to improve it would be the introduction of free wifi around the hotel. We didn't want to pay the extra amount for it so stuck to the wifi zone but even here the internet was very slow and couldn't cope if there were more than 10 people on it.

Leaving here today, been here for a week self catering with my husband and two boys 8 and 4. On arrival all staff were very pleasant. The apartment itself room 3209 was spotless clean and the cleaning lady was lovely always smiling. Our apartment was next to the quieter pool which suited us as the kids got to play away while we could enjoy the sun right next to them on the sun lounger. We were also able to buy some drinks and ice cream from the little bar next to this pool. However while spending the day at the pool one of my kids was getting a little hungry and wanted just a little plate of chips. So we went round to the other pool bar to get something. I was told I had to pay four euros as it was a buffet and not food to order. The woman also said that he would have to sit in the bar with it which I could understand see if as you're paying re price for a child and they wouldn't want an adult eating it. But then when I went to pay for this they said that they wouldn't let my son have anything unless I was paying 7.50 euros and having something myself. On top of the other four euros for my son. I explained I didn't want anything to eat it was just my four year old and I was more than happy to sit in there with him and they could keep watch and make sure it was only him that was eating. But they weren't having it they wanted me to pay for a full adult as well. I found this rather ridiculous and seen no reasonable reason for it especially if you're going to follow their rules and sit there with him. I felt a little let down by this and it's for this reason I have scored a four and not a five. We were speaking to other guests who were all inclusive and almost every one found the food repetitive. If you're going self catering you are in an excellent location as there lots of shops bars and restaurant nearby. We were pleasantly surprised by the cheap prices and would highly recommend beijing restaurant across the road. If I was coming back to cost a teguise I old return to Los zocos for its great location friendly staff and cleanliness.
