Just returned from a fab holiday at the ficus, anyone who puts negatives on this place really need to open there eyes it is Not a five star hotel but a fantastic 3 star with great and helpful staff and reps, the food is different and varied every day even the pickiest can find something to eat, the pool area is quite crammed but just get your towel on the beds as everyone else does, it is quite a cold pool at this time of year so just jump in and you'll be fine, we did so much on this holiday from hiring a mini convertible and traveling the island( go to plus car in the village it's the best value) to island hopping over to fuertaventura for the day, the Aqua park in Costa teguise is also a great day out, we also went to timanfaya national park and went in over and around all the volcanoes and wow what a trip, also went to the caves just north of teguise that was amazing to, somewhere in amongst all this we did have a lovely relaxing time and cannot rate this hotel highly enough, if you want five star treatment then pay for it. Thanks Ficus we miss you already Glyn, Kerry joe and fern x

Reading the below reviews I think I must have stayed at a different hotel to most of the reviewers I must agree with only one of the below, On arrival the receptionist gave us no help with any bags which had to be taken to top floor with no lift or info on the hotel. everything in there was plastic and always had to wait for receptionist as no one ever behind the desk. The apartment was quite large and basic but front door rattled all night as the wind blew, we knew the cleaner had been in 5 days as the bed had been made, floor was not swept or mopped the whole week we were there, Towels and sheets were only changed the day before we left they might as well not bothered. Restaurant was more like a works canteen although food was quite nice and edible but plastic cups for all drinks. Club room more like an old fashioned village hall once again plastic chairs, tables and plastic cups for drinks, entertainment not very good unless you are in love with bingo. entertainment team try very hard. This really is a low budget hotel that was self catering and is trying to become all inclusive but not very good at it, don't be fooled by the 5 stars that are given by the reviewers as I was. This hotel is advertised as 3 star but is only 1.5 at best.

Just returned from a family holiday at the ficus one of the best holidays we have ever been on. There was a total of 13 in our party all ranging in age from adults, teenagers, kids and babies and there was something for everyone. It was my nephews 9th birthday and the entertainment team threw him a party and the reception even organised a cake. The food was great and the entertainment was awesome. Only a 10 minute walk away from town (5 minutes if you took the dirt track). Supermarkets and restaurants nearby if you fancy a change from the all inclusive buffet. Bar staff were lovely and very cheerful. Overall one of the best holidays we've been on and we will definitely be returning for another family holiday and we would recommend it to everybody.
Many people come on holiday to Lanzarote in winter due to it’s renown as a perennially sunny hotspot, with blue skies and winter temperatures averaging around 18° Celsius. It’s the summer peak that the island is famed for though when temperatures soar to around 28° Celsius. If you’re too hot, splash into the pool or get some watersports in on the beach!
