stayed here last year, and thought it was good, but went back for two weeks and found not quite so good as last year, food was only warm, knifes were not sharp, meat was tough ,even the chicken....lots of salad, but you can only eat so much of it....the staff were fine, and friendly but the shows were the same as last year, and only mimed,no real singing...music really out of date....had to ask for someone to spray batroom for ants...lace was clean but bathrooms really need to be updated...wont go again...

Good hotel, we stayed half board and found the breakfasts and dinners had plenty of choice and good food. My only small gripe about he food is that the deserts were a bit plasticky and that coffee isn't available except for breakfast. We found all the staff very nice and very helpful. The animation/entertainment crew did their best to get you involved with activities such as yoga, stretching, aerobics classes. Tennis, paddle tennis, football etc. The rooms are big, mattresses are most comfortable and I found the wi-fi was fine for general surfing on my phone. All in all I would return to this hotel without any qualms.

When we boarded the bus to take us to the hotel, we were asked to fill in the registration form, and sign it on the back. That was to save time, as everyone on the bus was going to the Barcelo. It took just over 10 minutes to arrive at the hotel, but had to queue up to get our allocated room. The staff dealt with the long line of people quickly, so we didn’t have to wait long. We were given 2 card keys and a map to get to our room. The room itself was in block 3, ground floor, and was a sun trap in the afternoon. The bed was kingsize with a bolster and two more pillows if you needed them. A 32” tele with bbc1, bbc2, bbc4, and ITV, which was nice if wanted to watch your soaps and football. The food in the main restaurant was very good, as I like fish I was having it twice a day freshly grilled while you wait. The pool restaurant was fine if you wanted something more basic. Moaners & Myths The free wifi, is good in the hotel reception area, fair around the heated pool, and slow and hit and miss in the hotel room. There are 2 large lagoon pools, one heated the other not. I swam twice a day in the heated pool, and I can assure you that it is warm enough to swim in. If you find the food isn’t hot enough, there is at least one microwave oven in the restaurant to heat it up for you. As we were on the ground floor, I did notice that there were a few really tiny harmless ants around the sink area, as someone mentioned in an early post. The secret is to keep the plug in to stop them coming up. An earlier post said that the drinks were of poor quality. The soft drinks were Fanta, Sprite etc. The Vodka was Smirnoff’s, and the whisky was Ballantines, Jonny Walker, and J & B, all included in the AI. If you fancied a J Daniels you had to pay 2.60 euros providing you were on the AI package. Yes you do have to pay after 11pm, so why not get a couple in before time. Go through the bottom gate and you are straight onto the beach, and a five minute walk will take you to the small harbour. Go through the side gate and you are at the bars and shops, and restaurants. There are a couple of sports bars, a large super market, Chemist and doctors all within a few yards of the Hotel. We really enjoyed our stay at the Barcelo, and all you people that have booked this hotel, get yourself out there and enjoy it, ignore the negative reviews. Oh yes the only gripe I have about the hotel is the food, even though there is a vast selection, there was no porridge for breakfast. Room tip. Do not keep your card for your door next to an electronic device, mobile phone etc., or it will disconnect it, rendering it useless. You will then have to go to the reception to get it reconnected.

Super hotel. Lovely rooms with best hotel bed ever. The experience was made even more special by the professionalism and friendliness of the staff. The all inclusive food and drink provision was top class. Lovely flat walks from the hotel to the harbour, along the sea front or into town. The safe was a little expensive but was a a full size safe, not a lockable box.
Remember that sunscreen on holidays in Caleta de Fuste as Fuerteventura enjoys wonderfully hot weather in the summer, peaking at 30° Celsius in July and August. Due to its location, Caleta de Fuste receives a north-easterly wind that will be welcome if you’re not an avid sun fan! If you feel like heading on holiday to Caleta de Fuste outside of the summer, then the autumn months also enjoy good weather. February enjoys temperatures of around 23° Celsius, so even then you’ll still go home with a good tan!
