just got back from a wonderful relaxing week here. Just what we wanted. Right on the beach, close to the harbour and nice little places to stroll to. I went with my sister and we both enjoyed it. Food is buffet style but lots of choice, she doesn't eat much meat but plenty of freshly grill fish, salad bar, rice and pasta dishes. Also for the fuss pot tourist staples like chips, pizza, burgers and hot dogs. Lots of desserts too best ones in my book was the chocolate fountain and marshmallows to dip in and the profiteroles and hot chocolate sauce, the banana ice cream was lovely too. The self serve section for all inclusive guests in the Aldo bar was fab, although we did see quiet a few non AI taking advantage as it wasn't constantly monitored. Although notice around pool saying not to reserve su beds one large brutish group had claimed their lounges by 730 each morning but didn't appear until after 11each morning to use them but even when we wondered around the pool at 9 there where still plenty of lounges. There where children around but we did cross slightly in to half term, however the pipped pipped (maxi club host) seemed to make them vanish and only appear to tell their parents which area they would be in, so if you not sure about children in resort they are well taken care off. We had a lovely clean and spacious room in block 2, over looking to pool. Also have bath robes, cava and chocolates in the room on arrival as it was a birthday while out in resort. The mini golf is the only activity we did and as resort guests it was a little cheaper then advertised. Excellent hotel would strongly recommend to anyone who asked me where I stayed. Only thing I will say is if you are given the option of a late check out room when you make your reservations, take it! We had to wait to see the day before as on a late flight and couldn't get one, hotel has good facilities in that instance but you do feel a little nomadic.

The Barcelo is ideally situated in the quiet cove of Costa Caleta. It is only about 20 minutes form the Airport and is a quiet location without the night clubs and bright lights of other holiday destinations. This was our first time back to the hotel in five years and we weren't disappointed. The room we were in (3305) had recently been refurbished and was fresh and clean. The bed was comfy and the attention of the maid service (daily) ensured that we always came back to a nice clean abode. The free wifi in rooms and around the hotel was well used. The sun loungers have all been replaced since our last visit and there were plenty to go round. There are notices not to reserve sunbeds but the early morning brigade, and I must admit most were Brits, were out reserving their spots. I do wish that when a hotel has a policy of no reservation that they would enforce it and remove offending towels. There are three pool areas, one of which is heated but they are salt water and it doesn't half sting the eyes - goggles recommended! Quite a multi-national presence in the hotel with French, German, Portugese and Belgian guests. The food was probably the one thing that we were disappointed with. Other than the themed African night (the food that night was sensational) there was a sameness about the menu and I think had we being staying for a fortnight we may well have eaten out two or three times. The staff were great. A couple of the long time employees recognised us and went out of there way to come and speak. Everyone was so helpful....reception, bar and dining room staff. The Animacion team worked hard during the day and put on some great shows at night. The Lion King and Les Miserables were particularly enjoyable. We were on an all inclusive package and it really was worthwhile. The beer is local but some branded spirits were included in the menu. The all inclusive stops at 11pm then you pay half the price on all drinks. There is an area in the poll bar that is always well stocked with both food and beverages. Coffee, teas and ice cream all on tap. A new touch for us was that the pool bar had been refurbished and was open in the evening, so if you didn't fancy the entertainment you could sit and enjoy a quiet drink in the open air or under cover in the bar. Overall a good time and I would certainly consider going back.

The hotel is in a great location with pleasant strolls which ever way you go (wild chipmunks can be found in 2 locations). Bedroom facilities have everything you need, we were fortunate enough to have a room with a hot tub and sunbeds. The restaurant had a good choice and never had a problem with getting a table even though the hotel was busy. Entertainment ok but have seen better - sorry. Would recommend the hotel to friends and family
Remember that sunscreen on holidays in Caleta de Fuste as Fuerteventura enjoys wonderfully hot weather in the summer, peaking at 30° Celsius in July and August. Due to its location, Caleta de Fuste receives a north-easterly wind that will be welcome if you’re not an avid sun fan! If you feel like heading on holiday to Caleta de Fuste outside of the summer, then the autumn months also enjoy good weather. February enjoys temperatures of around 23° Celsius, so even then you’ll still go home with a good tan!
