Second visit wasn't as impressed as last year food wasn't as good got given a room facing the mountains complained to reception she was very rude gave us a room bottom floor facing the pool it was...
Very good rooms, ample size as was the bathroom, spotless clean, we managed to have our 4 rooms next to each other, sea view from the rooms were amazing ( we were on Level 2). It took us a couple of days to find our way around, good entertainment as it was late February. Staff very friendly, excellent food, as there was eight of us, the staff made sure we were all able to sit together. nice walks nearby. We are going back next year. Only one down side, the pool were very cold.

I stayed at the Sandos Papagayo Beach Resort, Lanzarote hotel for 1 week in June (2015), here is my review. We upgraded to Royal Elite so had access to other areas not normally included. I am going to be critical here as I think the hotel was almost perfect but for a few things so if the hotel reads this and changes a few items I would highly recommend people to go time after time, I know everyone is different but these points I will list were my choices that the hotel could change or take note of. Firstly the bad points: - the most annoying thing for me was the entertainment guide, it is situated on the top floor next to the bar area before you go into the elite bar, not everyone goes to the top floor and we did not see it until Friday evening on our second night, by which time it was too late for me as there was only 1 event of dancing classes on the Friday at 4.30pm, this I wanted to try the most. I think that the hotel should have this near the reception area then everyone coming in can see what is on and ask where the events take place, or even put it on the back of the hotel map which you get upon checking into the hotel and clearly state what time and where these events take place. The second bad point for me was the gym; I know most people go on holiday to relax but I need to keep fit and if the gym had more free heavier weights and a pull up bar then this would have made the gym more or less complete, I don’t think it is too much to ask. The wifi for me was not good in my room or any of the others in out group, but in the wifi hotspots it was great. The good points: - the pool areas, the hotel has really thought well about this here, there are 3 pools, the lower pool is clearly marked adults only, so no people running around or getting in the way (not being picky as you will see as you read on). The upper 2 pools are where families and children spend their time, the larger top pool is where you can play water volleyball and other sports, with a small little paddling pool for the really small children (this is a fantastic idea, the children can have time in there with their parents and enjoy the water without the parents worrying), the 3rd pool is just lower down and is where some more water activities take place where everyone can join in, a real bonus for the hotel here, keep up with it. The food, loads of choice from vegetarians to full meat and fish eaters, the chefs cook some of the meals in front of you fresh and when it starts to run low they bring another load straight away, totally spoilt for choice, everyone in our group of 5 had something different every day. Remember to book the specialist restaurants as they can get booked up. The Mojito’s I had which were made fresh were fantastic, although there are non alcoholic slush ones in the poolside bar which go great during the day by the pool. You don’t need to reserve the sun beds as there are loads, but if you put your towel down and don’t use it for 2 hours one of the staff will come and remove it, so if you want one by the pool be prepared to spend a good amount of time there. There is a free bus to and from the main Playa Blanca resort which is great, but the bus can be busy so be warned. As for the rest of the hotel:- the staff are friendly and polite and willing to help, they speak excellent English and are always smiling, although I do think it is good to try and say a few words in Spanish to try to impress them. Sports activities can be busy with lots of people joining in but at least you get to meet people from other parts of the world. If you are staying in the C level be prepared to hear the furniture being moved above you and the music will go on until 11.30pm at night so if you an early to be early to rise person you might need some ear plugs until this time as you might hear it. You have a nice view from the balcony overlooking the beach and can see Fuerteventura across the sea. All in all a good weeks holiday, a great place for couples and families, would I recommend it, yes I would, I met people who will be there at this hotel 3 times this year so look at that as a sign of things. Would I go back, yes I would.

Never been in a hotel that has such diverse appeal. There is something here (or at least in the surrounding area) for everybody. Food, provision, entertainment, hospitality and cleanliness are all brilliant and you will never get bored. Perfect for an all-inclusive holiday.

Great hotel. Great staff. Great holiday. My wife & I were here to celebrate our silver wedding, picked this hotel due to a recomendation. Good choice, ahd say! I had already arranged flowers for Shirley to be in our room on arrival, which was was organised very well by the hotel staff. Shirley was well pleased! But as a gift to us, the hotel also left us a bottle of Cava. Nice touch. Room (block a201) had a fantastic sea view, but if you don't have a sea view, you will have no view......... Always cleaned to perfection. Fantastic maid service. Very little noise can be heard, once all doors closed. Food was varied, not always to my taste, I am very particular tho. Pizza is fantastic!! The chinese & mexican restraunt's require booked in advance, reception says 24hr notice, took us three days for chinese & we missed the chance for mexican 😕 all the waiting staff are very good. Bar staff , again top class. This has been the first hotel i have ever been to, where ALL staff greeted you with a smile, from the maintenance staff, to the management. No one ever walked past you without a smile & hello. Hotel is always being cleaned. All outside areas. The hotel is huge, plenty pools, one of which is an adults only area, which is a bit quieter. Not always busy, we got sunbeds at any time of the day somewhere, maybe not at a brolly tho. Some sunbeds need a change, they have seen better days........ Location might be a problem for some, it is way out of the resort, good paved walk into the resort mind you, but it is a good 20/30 minute 'saunter' in. Just a little bit of sandy beach in front of the hotel, rest is rocky. Not the hotel's fault, but it was a dissapointment to me. To one side, there is a smashing beach, but it looked a helluva hike over not so nice ground, my back would never make it, so didn't try! Annimation staff are fantastic, these guys are non stop & what they all can do....... The entertainment in the hotel, was a little hit & miss, the annimation staff had a show on most nights, they may not be THE best act you will ever see, but they don't half try to entertain you! Other bars have things on every other night (as per chap I spoke to, he said if one bar had a 'turn' on, the other didn't) We got a second bottle of Cava on Shirleys birthday, maid must have saw her birthday card & told the office. On your way home, just book the courtesy room for a shower before you head home at reception on your way for breakfast. I will probably have forgotten things, but this is as good a go as i can do, as long as you are looking for rest & relaxation, this hotel will do it for you. It is fantastic!
Cheap Playa Blanca holidays are more or less a fixture for tourists the whole year round, thanks in no small part to the consistently warm Lanzarote temperatures - consistently hot, that is! Hot it may be, averaging around 18° Celsius in December and 26° Celsius by the summer, but sultry breezes, courtesy of the trade winds, mean you’re never flustered. Having said that, ensure you have your sun cream on at all times to protect you from the sun's rays.
As UK, Courses or boosters sometimes advised: hepatitis A (not normally for package tourists).
