we have just got back from 2 weeks in the sandos papagoya hotel and all I can say is it is fantastic. The rooms are spot on, the food is so varied you can not go hungry, the staff are very friendly, nice pools, spar and a nice little gym as well. I went with my 15 and 17 year olds, my 15 year old is a fussy eater but she was ok here, the drinks are spot on, it can get busy by the 4 pools, the adult pool only is a great idea, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to go, I,ll definitely go back.

This hotel ticked all the boxes for us. Rooms were excellent, beds nice and soft but firm, and the food was good and varied, with special sessions of Chinese and Mexican food on offer. The outdoor facilities, with kiddies, adults only and mixed pools were exceptionally good. Indoor facilities were comprehensive and good entertainment was provided in the evening both indoors and outdoors. The resort beach was volcanic ash, so not good underfoot, but a superb sandy beach was just a short coach ride away. Two big pluses for me personally were the availability of wheeled sun umbrellas and a microwave available in each restaurant, meaning one could get reliable shade and piping hot meals...........

This is the second time that I have used this hotel and was not disappointed. The service is very good and the staff are helpful and pleasant. The sea view room had recently been refurbished and was bright and well appointed. Bedding is changed every three days and the room was serviced to a high standard. I would recommend an upgrade to the elite package which guarantees a sea view , exclusive breakfast dining and air conditioned bar areas with premium brands. The buffet menus are diverse and prepared to a high standard. All in all I have no reservations in recommending this hotel.

First of all we have been to numerous hotels in Playa Blanca and this was first time to Papagayo beach resort. The good points the rooms are very spacious and well equipped for 2 adults and 2 children under 6, the animation team are excellent throughout the day and night and Lion king show is a must, pools are good and well maintained, beach is beautiful but a bit of a walk over rocks, hotel very clean, food decent. Bad points were hotel staff were rude and miserable except Barrie on Bar and not very helpful, not enough food choices for example omelettes were just egg other hotels give you choice of ingredients cheese, ham etc, you are not allowed inflatables in pool number 2 even though majority sat round this pool wanted to use and most then had to go to pool 1 and sos staff were very dictatorship in ensuring rules followed even a young child in safety ring was told NO and child was only about 3 years old and got upset The mini disco was in a room on level -3 and finished after 45 minutes and then everyone had to run to level 0 to get a seat to watch main shows which were by that time nearly all taken, other hotels have mini disco in main room with shows following with good time and no rushing. Air conditioning in all main show rooms were non existence and it made it terrible to sit and watch any shows. Main show room was too regimented in way seats were positioned other hotels have seating with tables this was more like a cinema room. All inclusive for spirits were stopped at 11pm and by the time show finished at 11pm you either had to have soda stream beer or soft drinks. Wifi was ok in main areas but waste of time mostly Overall not a bad holiday and hotel but prefer other hotels in region, Lanzarote princess, Rubicon Palace, Holiday village. If manager does read this you need to have a word with hotel staff animation team excepted about customer care and if tourist don't go to your hotel then no job. Weather by the way was tremendous
