I've waited a couple of weeks after returning from a weeks holiday here so as to properly reflect on the whole experience. First off, we looked to book this through the UK tour operators but instead built and booked the holiday separately, flights, transfers and hotel directly. This was good because because we wanted a one bed and a two bed apartment which the UK tour operators couldn't do. They try and squeeze you into smaller rooms which mean people have to sleep on sofa/beds. Kim at the hotel was very helpful in this respect. Our rooms, 1103 and 1104 were very clean, right on the corner of the hotel and always in sun. There was minimal noise one morning as the delivery trucks for the restaurants arrived but other wise no complaints at all. Spacious, comfortable beds, clean and well equipped. The food, for a 2/3 star AI was very impressive. Good selection and variety and all the children (13,15 and 15) always found several meals they wanted. If you did leave it until just before the restaurant closed sometimes there was less choice and some of the options might have less hot, but never a problem if you weren't a last minute charley. Drinks are okay, San Miguel beer and wine was drinkable. G&T's were fine, some of the cocktails are pre made and vary in strength. The one visit to the Italian was okay, with food a little better than the AI buffet, but having waiter service was nice. Its a small restaurant and you do have to book and arrive at the right time. Pools are a good size and clean, plenty of sunbeds, one side of the hotel is quieter than the other. Pool bar is good for drinks but the food there is mainly burgers etc but keeps the kids happy. Hotel reception staff are very helpful, hire of a safe is 18Euros which is a bit expensive but provides peace of mind. Wifi is not cheap with it being 27 Euros for two devices and you are limited to being able to use them in the public areas only. I tried from our rooms but connection was poor if it ever connected. The only negative I can recall was the entertainment which wasn't that great. Acts were average and the bar area heaving with young children who hung around after the kids entertainment finished. Overall for the price paid and the star rating, the hotel exceeded expectations. Its well located and has much to recommend

9 of us, ranging in age from 3-72 just returned from an 11 night stay at Los Zocos and a good time was had by all. We booked directly with the hotel website and flew with Easyjet. We had two 2 bed apts and a 1 bed and found them spacious and decently equipped. The decor is a little tired and some deep cleaning in the bathroom wouldn't go amiss but nothing was unexpected in this regard for a 3 star hotel. One issue was with terrible pillows though! We liked the kettle & fridge so we could keep up our PG tips consumption as usual (hotel tea bags anywhere outside UK, from 5 star downwards are universally rubbish!) and milk was available from the mini market next door. Microwave also handy for heating toddlers bedtime drink. Food was surprisingly decent especially the freshly cooked fish and meat on the griddle and the rice dishes. The kids buffet rarely strayed from nuggets/fish fingers/chips and beans which is disappointing but our children tried all sorts from the main buffet. They do do puréed food for babies every evening which was a nice touch. Drinks were fine, not the greatest wine but drinkable, the spirits were ok and served in very generous measure. Cocktails were however disappointing due to lack of fresh juices and things like mint (a mojito with mint liquor tasted like toothpaste!). In fact single major criticism in the food & beverage dept was lack of fresh fruit juice to drink, especially at breakfast. Pools were big, spacious but freezing. Our kids went in wearing wetsuits and we're still cold, none but the hardiest adult got wet. Kids club was a huge hit, especially the mini disco for our lot. Evening shows were rather low brow and variable in quality but suitable for all ages and kept us all amused (for free!). Staff as mentioned in other reviews were all very pleasant and helpful. We hired a car to explore, rental locally very cheap and driving very easy. Highly recommend Timanfaya and Texas Rancheros. All in all we had a great time for a very reasonable price and would recommend for young families and adults alike.

Stayed for 1 week, this our 5th time, still great value, kids are very well catered for. If i had suggestion, music at pool-bar plays same songs over and over again, it wouldn't take much, for the hotel to sort this. Entertainment in evening mainly for kids, adults tend to leave and go elsewhere in the evening, as they dont have kids.

I have stayed at this resort several times and have found it acceptable for family and food This time I was invited to try the new venture. An Italian a la carte restaurant instead of the all inclusive buffet. It was in a sectioned off part of a larger area but the feeling was cosy. The service was quick maybe too quick as I could have easily waited a bit between courses. I took advantage and tried food that you would pay a premium for in a normal restaurant such as Carpaccio of beef and veal steak. Both were delicious or molto bene I was impressed with the food and service so if you have an invite try it as a romantic meal, maybe not for large groups
