Visited this hotel in May for one week. Lovely stay yet again. I requested a room on a high floor as these are now refurbished and very modern looking and also away from the current building works on floors 3 and 4 while we were there. There was some building work noise going on during the day but hardly noticeable if around the pool or on the rooftop area. Lovely choice and quality of food and branded drinks are available if you request but the local drinks were fine also. Wine including cava by the bottle is available at mealtimes in the restaurant. The service around the al a carte area at lunch time has greatly improved and there seems to be more servers on at lunch time and they manage to do a great job at getting the menus and food out quickly. Great value also if you are half board as you can also have cava at breakfast and water by the jug is included at all meals and honey rum at dinner. The staff are all happy in their jobs and are attentive and friendly (a small tip helps ).5 minutes walk to the yumbo centre with lots of bars is great fun. Only criticism I can think of is that they should have installed air con in the refurbishing if the rooms as it was very stuffy at night which makes it difficult to sleep. Would return.

I visited here after much reading of trip advisor reviews . The good myself and five friends (late 20's) visited here for 1 week 20th June.Thankfully we were put in the renovated rooms, lovely spec!We went all inclusive and there was a variety of food in the buffet,a la carte and pool bar with steaks on stones and crepes made to order and food always hot despite reading other reviews . Most drinks included and cocktails for all inclusive. The wellness centre spa is phenomenal from hot sand,a dead sea pool, ice room, turkish bath and most of these facilities are free just by being a guest! The bad-even though hotel states no reservation of sun beds, this is often done from the evening before! The cocktails are all premade, not fresh and not the usual choice,so if you like a good cocktail prepare to leave the hotel. The evening entertainment is standard for Spanish hotels but the yumbo centre is a 5 min walk away and has something for everyone. No air con,tea /coffee facilies or iron in the room. The ugly-the staff at the pool bar were amazing but as referred to before in reviews, this hotel has a large dutch, german and spanish clientele and being english speaking myself the language barrier was surprisingly difficult and often I was ignored at the bar or was given a brisque reception,I felt we were not valued the same.Although we were a group of girls we were not rowdy or rude but with a predominance of elderly clientele I felt we were regarded as "trouble".In summary lovely hotel and facilities but service delivery needs much improvement and for that reason alone I would be reluctant to return.
Gran Canaria enjoys year-round warm temperatures and sunshine with very little seasonal variation. Summers are hot and dry while winters are slightly cooler with some showers. Like the rest of the island, Playa del Ingles has year round warm temperatures making it a hugely popular choice during the cold British winter.
