I've just returned from here with my boyfriend, we stayed for a week and thought it was amazing. We went All Inclusive and the food choice was brilliant, lots of choice and variou themed nights which spiced it up a bit. The staff in the restaurant are very friendly and speedy with drinks. The food was the best I have tasted abroad! Also if you're in the local area and fancy eating somewhere different, visit Fado Rock in the town (a mix grill for €12 and it was ginourmous and lovely!) The bar service was brilliant, the staff always friendly and chirpy. They also speak English really well so made our lives a lot easier as we don't speak a word of Spanish. The lobby bar could probably do with a few more staff at night time as they're often overrun with guests, and maybe a more organised queueing system would benefit them. Also the pool bar would be better with slightly bigger cups, although the staff allow you to get a few so it saves you a journey. The drinks are of a brilliant standard and the measures are generous. There is lots of free cocktails on the All Inclusive and they all taste lovely with lots of effort put into them. The rooms were clean and well kept, our bathroom was lovely and the beds. The maids kept it very clean and also were very polite. The grounds are amazing, the best thing about the Elba Carlota! Giant cactus gardens and lovely areas to sit. Leading out onto the beach was a massive plus and a short walk to the main town put this in the perfect place for us, somewhere quiet but easy access too. I would recommend Oasis Park to anyone, absolutely brilliant day! Just make sure to take lots of water and food as its a long, hot day practically no shade! Also if you stay at the Carlota walk along the beach past the volcanic rocks and you'll see lots of chipmunks. If you steal some orange from breakfast, they will come and eat out of your hands. Absolutely brilliant! All in all, we could not fault this hotel. We plan to return, as it seems many guests do. Thank you so much for an amazing holiday EC x

We've just returned from an absolutely amazing fortnight at this hotel. There have been a lot of differing reviews on here, however we thought that this is the best hotel we have ever been to. So much so that we are already making plans to try and return. The food here is wonderful. As some reviews have stated, the meat can sometimes be funny. Had a bit of meat that really didn't look cooked enough, but there is so much choice, you won't go hungry. The room was spotlessly clean and very spacious, even with three beds. The showers are the best hotel showers we've ever used. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The entertainment in the hotel is marvellous. Everyone in the animation team work so hard and they really make an effort to get to know everyone. They made the holiday just that much better. They always have a smile on their faces and the shows in the evening are fab as well. We've all really enjoyed our time at this hotel and were sad to be home, but we can't wait to come back!

We stayed at the Carlota for 10 nights in June and had a great time. Ignore the bad reviews, some people clearly expect luxury. Room - the bedroom was a great size, plenty of storage, huge bed though mattress very firm, nice modern bathroom with bath/shower. Room was cleaned every day, usually by Isabel who was very friendly as were all the staff, though another maid we had wasn't as good and left our balcony door open all afternoon, could have easily had someone break in as we were on ground level. Our view wasn't great as we overlooked the supermarket and the hotel delivery area which had lorries delivering early in the morning and late at night. We used the laundry service which is supposed to take 24 hours but it took 48, apparently there was a problem with the washing facilities. Wifi is slow and temperamental but I don't personally go on holiday to sit on the Internet. Aircon wasn't brilliant, informed staff and was told that 'it isn't air con' and that it only goes cold for a two hour period then it goes warm again? Meant it was too hot in the night. Food - we went half board and cannot complain about the food. Good selection every day and doesn't get boring. Would be good to get a drink included with dinner though like you do at lunch. I had seafood a few times and wasn't ill and I know people worry about eating seafood abroad but it was fine. Pool area - it was a struggle to get a sunbed, it says you can't reserve with a towel but everyone does so I would advise reserving a sunbed at 9am or earlier. Pool was pretty cold, I didn't get in it fully because I found it freezing. Plenty of activities going on through the day. The pool area is nice though, not too cramped. Pool bar 'arrecife' is pricey for lunch, but I would recommend that it stays open in the evening so you can have drinks outside. Area - hotel Is right next to a shopping centre which has a big spar supermarket and some clothes shops, also some cafes. Hotel is right on the beach which is great. It's about a 15 min walk from the restaurants but it's a nice walk along the front. If your looking for a lively holiday then I wouldn't come to caldera de fusty as it is rather quiet, more for families and older adults I would say. A taxi is around 4 euros to the restaurants etc. I would advise to get a taxi to and from the airport as it is a 10 min drive, on a transfer it takes an hour as it is the last drop off. As for people saying the planes flying over the hotel are loud etc, yes they are quite loud but the last flight gets in at about 7pm so no disturbances through the night. All in all a good stay.
