This new hotel is built in the resort of Playa Blanca and located on the coarse sand beachfront Las Coloradas between the Village Playa Blanca and the Papagayo Beach in the south of Lanzarote. Informal & relaxed, this is a great place to escape the crowds. From the hotel you can enjoy the excellent views of the islands of Fuerteventura and Lobos and some of the most spectacular sunsets of the area can be viewed from each room-terrace. This was our fifth visit in five years to this Hotel. I never thought we would be the type of people who returned to the same place year after year but five years on and each time has been great and...
We went for relaxing, nothing to do or see holidays just before high season. Hotel is big and you have to be ready for masses, it could be a noisy in public areas, but you can find some corners for privacy. Surprisingly it is much better located than other all inclusive nearby, you can walk to the Papagayos beach easly. Also an OK beach is just in front of the hotel. We had room with sea views and terrace, so most of the time we spend there. Rooms are big, a little bit out of date, like the hotel room n general, but still fine. If you had any problem, staff is going to fix quite fast. We had horrible mattress at the beginning but they change it in an hour. The food is not the best and not enough good for 4 star hotel. There are choices so you can always find something, but we were disappointed in general. Also only white vine is drinkable. Mexican restaurant is quite good and Thai is fine too, just book very much in advance. Staff is very helpful and it is clean everywhere. SPA was a disappointment- it is very small and not relaxing place at all. The pools area is big and wide so you can find an relaxing place there. We enjoyed bar with terrace in afternoon. My advice: take a room with see view and terrace, blocks C or D.
This hotel was great from start to finish. The staff on reception were really helpful. The sea view room was comfortable and spacious. The food and drink was good quality and the variety meant...
We have just returned from what was overall a really pleasant stay at the Sandos. The two considerations though which could help when deciding whether to choose this hotel could be: -despite the name "Beach Resort", the nearest beach does not appear to be very family friendly, as it is largely rocky (although really lovely to look at from the room balcony). Also if you have small children it is worth noting that this beach allows dogs; I love dogs but there is no escaping the fact the pooper scooping seems to be a bit of a lost cause here. There is a very picturesque beach about 15-20 mins walk away which is well worth a visit, but as others have mentioned, the path is steep although the views are amazing. There are no facilities at this beach but the situation is wonderful. We did use the hotel's shuttle bus service to Playa Dorada but this beach was not for us, it was really crowded and not our cup of tea. -The second consideration is the spa treatments, or rather the lack of them; the spa only offers massages during the week apart from a Monday, when facials are offered. The spa does have 3 jacuzzis but we did not go in as the situation of the spa is a busy one with a non-descript outlook, and the fact that the spa allows children means that relaxation can be hard to achieve! Much better to go the next door hotel, the Gran Castillo, and use the spa there. Their spa is truly beautiful with a good range of treaments and really lovely staff. About other aspects; the room was super, with a private balcony and super comfy beds. We went Royal Elite so we had access to the lounges and terrace which was a bonus. We found the food to be varied and always tasty. The all inclusive package for the Royal Elite option is really very good, with branded drinks and tea and coffee always available, together with biscuits and crudites. The hotel seems extremely clean and well kept, and the housekeeping staff for our room were very helpful. It was great to have the adults' pool although the same old issues were there about reserving sunbeds; it could be impossible to find a sunbed next to a parasol by the pool (but you could generally find one or two in the less popular areas to be). Restaurant staff could seem frazzled but this wasn't surprising bearing in mind how busy they were. What would make a lot of difference would be a more consistently positive approach from the reception staff; some were very helpful and smiley but others made you feel as if you were one of many packages on a conveyor belt. A smile goes such a long way and you don't need to know much English to smile! Overall it was a super holiday; made such by the great rooms, super food, and some lively entertainment.
Noisy, Old, mass, poor service, mediocre food. We arrived three families. One family had no room although they been booked in advance. Front desk staff gave no option other than sending family to...
The hotel is in a great location for Papagayo Beach and an walk or short taxi ride to Rubicon Marina. Without exception, the staff could not have been more hard working, friendly and efficient. The food was varied and of a reasonable standard for a hotel. If you fancy a change there are many restaurants in Rubicon Marina and Playa Blanca (about 5 Euro taxi or shuttle bus from hotel)
First visit summer 2014 two families with 3 children, this is a great location with friendly staff and great food.. Food and drink available 24 hours Would definitely recommend and would go...
we stayed here for a fortnight as a family with ages ranging from 13 to 70. We'd booked 3 rooms and a couple of weeks before we arrived I emailed requesting rooms close together. We were delighted to be allocated 3 rooms next to each other in A block floor 2 so a great sea view & close to the Spa, restaurants & an easy walk to the pools. There are so many positives to this hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean & have loads of wardrobe space. Our room hadn't been updated yet but was still good. The food in the restaurants is a good variety, we stayed a fortnight & never got fed up with the choice. We did eat from the Italian a lot at night as the pasta is amazing. If any one complains about the choice then goodness knows what would keep them happy. Two roasts every night, fresh fish, salads, fruit etc. We tried the Mexican which we enjoyed. The Oriental wasn't so good but then we tended to compare it to a buffet Chinese at home which was a bit unfair. My parents paid to eat in the French restaurant & highly recommended it. The bar service is good both at night & during the day, however opening at 11am is a bit late. The best part of the hotel is the staff they're all very friendly. The animation team work so hard all day. They are great entertainers & so friendly. The nightclub only opens on a Wednesday evening which is a shame. Each night a mini disco is held but on the one nightclub night (which opens at 11pm) people take there toddlers in so the first hour of the 2 hours it opens is like another mini disco, an age limit maybe of 11+ would be better. My negatives are; sunbed reservers ok if you reserve then use them before 10am fair enough, but to reserve 8 from before 8am until 12noon & then kick off because someone has sat on them is just unreasonable but provided us with entertainment! (English!) There's signs that say no reserving for over 45minutes but no one polices it. The adult only pool often had children (yellow bands) sat on the beds ( which are newer) sometimes they were asked to leave more often than not no one bothered. My suggestion would be don't make rules if you don't intend to keep them. The sunbeds around the main pool could do with updating plus more parasols please. Overall a great hotel with just very minor niggles.
