In July 2015 we stayed at the Oasis papagayo. We were told it was a family sporting resort, untrue there was not enough for my 14 year old to keep him occupied. The food was not good enough and on occasions cold, so we ate out for most of the 10 days.they say they have 2 other restaurants but they don't, they have 1 that alternates between bbq and Asian every other night and closed 2 days of the week Considering we payed all inclusive there were hidden charges eg hiring another Fan for our sons room, hiring a remote to work the TV, hiring cushions for the loungers paying for WiFi. The maid service was Not as regular as stated, at 1 point I had to take the towels that we had used for 6 days to reception to demand more. The only good point was the bar staff were great. If u still decided to go take plenty spending money even if u are all inclusive

Just back from another holiday at the Oasis Papagayo. We were here in 2014 and had a wonderful time. This year was not as good. The staff are still great and really pleasant. The bar staff, lifeguards, receptionists etc. are all lovely. The complex is lovely even though it's needs renovation. The pool is filthy. Lots of visible dirt floating around. It was not like that last year. It's really unhygienic. The last few days there was lots of activity with water sampling and cleaning etc. but unfortunately it was still dirty. Lots of the sunbeds need replacing. The entertainment isn't great. The sunny animation team try their best. Adriana is great and my kids loved her but last year it was better with more games, certificates, prizes etc. Evening entertainment poor. The food is awful. We ate out a lot. The supermarket has really gone downhill. No fresh produce, stake bread, rotten fruit and milk. Young girl is very rude. However I do like this hotel and would like to visit again but probably won't unless changes are made.

We travelled here on the 4th of July til the 15th. Their was 11 of us when we travelled (3 separate family's), when you arrive you are given your key and your all inclusive wrist bands (if you went all inclusive) if you arrive round about breakfast, lunch or dinner you can leave your bags and suitcases in a room below reception until your finished, I thought this was a good idea but I didn't feel as if it was safe. Our room was on the top floor so we had to carry our suitcases up stairs which was painful, the stairs were a little steep also. When we stayed we could here a digger from our apartment in the morning until night, it was annoying but nothing could be done, the food was ok breakfast was very very repetitive, I never went to the restaurant for lunch I just went to the snack bar which was next to the bar, they had pizza, chips, burgers and hotdogs. Not forgetting the half frozen yogurt, their was salad aswell but i was really put off that as flies kept landing on it. The pool is salt water and so is the fountain in the pool, the first few days we arrived it wasn't too salty but every couple of nights this man comes and throws piles of salt into the pool and does the same with the baby pool. This was the first resort I had been to with salt water pools and I didn't enjoy it. I prefer it with out salt and just chlorine, the pool was also very dirty if you look down to the bottom of the pool with snorkels then you'll understand what I mean. The maids aren't very good they don't come on weekends, you only get fresh towels a few times a week (I was here for 11 days) the maid always put a dirty towel over the bath, I was in once due to heat stroke she came in cleaned the floor, didn't pick anything up just cleaned around them, didn't even think to let the floor dry I almost slipped. She doesn't do much for a maid, their was shops outside the resort supermacado was really dear. Their is a bowling alley down stairs and with a bar/pizzeria, pizza's are normally round about €6.50 but it depends what you get and you have to pay for drinks down their also, the bowling was good but it got jammed a few times and the man had to go and fix it. The restaurant across from reception was good, you have to book it a day in advance but the food their was good, their wasn't much choice it was brilliant. But the food at the down stairs restaurant was pretty much the same apart from when they had their Mexican night, that was amazing they had fajitas and Doritos and more. The entertainment was mostly focused on little children their wasn't really anything for teenagers or anything at night which was boring but during the day they were good they had a timetable of activities for each day instead of Saturday and mostly Sunday as that was their day off. You had to pay for the safe and wifi was only free 8-12 and you had to pay more money if you wanted (I wouldn't pay a lot of money as it is very slow and you could probably get faster up the street in the bars) overall it was a good stay but I think something's need improving.

We have just returned from the Papagayo. As mentioned in other reviews the pool is still full of grime... there was also an outbreak of impetigo whilst we were there that was played down unless you were in the know. We only knew as we overheard discussions with the rep about rashes (which my son got), some children obviously reacted worse to the infection... the pool was then treated. It took 5 days into the holiday to see the pool cleaned once. Food was better than we expected but we also enjoyed eating on the 'strip'. The rooms didn't have aire con which was a killer even though they provided a fan. The safe didn't work so had to lock it in numerous suitcases. At night the entertainment started 8.30pm with children's disco (6 songs repeated) bingo about 9/9.30 and after that most was around 10pm and when with children that gets a bit late (not that it was that good) I wouldn't rush back
