We stayed at the oasis payagayo for one week in March. First impressions where good. The receptionist was lovely & our apartment was in a good location but the apartment was basic but overall for our stay it was fine. Food was good & there was plenty of choice everyday. Pool area was lovely plenty of sun loungers. Animation team were great, they looked after our daughter so well & made sure she had lots of fun. I will say this about the hotel that disappointed me, location isn't the best it's a bit far out & the hotel is a bit tired and needs a little tlc but if you got a great deal like us you can't complain. If you paid a lot for your hol you may have a completely different view of thisplace.

On check in at this establishment we had just a minor problem with our booking in that we were being charged more than was quoted and confirmed, but this was quickly and efficiently resolved. The layout of the apartment is living area at one end with the bedroom at other end and kitchen area and toilet shower area in the middle and a terrace or balcony just outside the living room. One good design as far as I am concerned was the location and orientation of the grab handle in the bath which is at chest level and ideal for steading yourself while having a shower. The bathroom is also reasonably roomy with plenty of space around the wash hand basin. There is a large mirror which covers the entire wall behind wash hand basin. We were informed at checkin that WiFi was free from 8:00 to 12:00 at reception area and we went down on the morning after arrival to try it out but it was not great probably due to fact that at that time as there were a lot of people online. We did again try it at a later time on another occasion when there did not seem to be as many people on-line and it was just a little better but still not great. I feel that one of the reasons for it being so slow is that it only available for four hours a day and everybody who wants to use it is being forced into this small time frame. We did not try the paid WiFi as I discovered that my roaming package gave me a better deal with much better speeds. We did try the breakfast on one morning but we were not too impressed and glad that we had decided on self catering. Perhaps they were having a bad day but we felt that there was not enough choices of cheese of cooked meats and most of the hot food was cold. In fact on that morning there was only one cheese available and only three different cooked meats. The complex itself is quite large and there are a lot of activities laid on. It seems to be a favourite place for cyclists and sports people in general and because of its location at the outskirts of town make it is an ideal location for starting a cycle. There is also a tennis court as well as a volleyball area and in the evening you could enjoy some time bowling. The Olympic 50m pool can also be used but must be booked and there is an extra charge for its use but well worth it. When staying here I feel you would never be short of something to do. The gym is well equipped and has a sauna which if you want to use you should inform reception in order to give hem at least an hours notice so that they can turn it on and time to heat up It is however just a sauna and does not have any of the other accessories associated like plunge pool or relaxing loungers. If you want to relax after sauna you can just go outside to a shaded area. Entertainment is provided most nights in the Club Bar but this at least on our visit did not seem to be very well supported but then it was early in the season. As far as I could see there was just one outside toilet which is located close to pool bar. This toilet was clean and well kept and has a baby changing table in both the male and female areas The location just outside town in my opinion was good in that you were close enough to town and the beaches but far enough away to get a good nights sleep. We did on two occasions get a taxi back from the town centre and both times it was in the region of €3.60. There were road works in the centre of town at that time and the taxi had to make a minor detour so if these road works were completed it could even be cheaper. It is very close to Water Park which incidentally during our visit was not yet open for the season. It is also close to the markets which take place every Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 to 14:00. If you are travelling to other locations on the island this is a good base as there are local bus stops close by. For the bus stop to Rosario or into town on leaving the complex turn right and take the first left where you will see the bus stop. It is about a three minute walk. If you are going to El Cotellio which is well worth a visit, on leaving the complex turn left and at the roundabout cross the road, you will be able to see the bus stop as you walk towards it. From reception to bus stop is about a six minute walk. This is a complex that I would consider returning to again if I were to go back to Corrlajeo and I probably will, as it is reasonably priced, a good safe location which is kept clean and tidy and relaxing place in general.

My partner and I spent 2 weeks at the oasis papagayo. When we first arrived there was a great welcome by staff, they couldn't be any more helpful. Any queries we had the staff dealt with them. Our apartment was one bedroom which was a great size for the 2 of us. Kitchen facilities are there if you wanted to cook but we ate out everyday for breakfast and dinner. Plenty restaurants, bars and shops down the main strip which was a short walk away from the hotel. Only down side of the accommodation is there was no air con which would've been greatly appreciated. We went on a few trips - a day in Lanzarote, and down to the wildlife park which was great! Other than that we spent most time beside the pool. There were plenty of sun beds about and the pools are a great size. Only downside is the pools are salt water rather than fresh - personal preference. One problem we did have by the pool was the entertainers constantly at us to take part in the entertainment (which we did sometimes) but when we replied no we were constantly harassed which was quite off putting. However entertainment we did take part in was great. Ideal for family holidays but if you want to relax in peace yourselves I wouldn't recommend.

Tourist Information

Weather

Corralejo enjoys year-round sunshine and very little rainfall. Average daytime temperatures vary between 16°C at the start of the year and 25°C during the peak months of July and August.

If that sounds a bit too hot, or if you're visiting with younger kids who are more sensitive to the sun, try taking a Corralejo holiday outside of peak time - perhaps in October or February when the island still enjoys mild weather of around 23° Celsius, so a tan is still possible! The island also receives mild north-easterly winds all year round, so you’ll receive a welcome breeze whatever time you visit. Take particular care during peak season, though, as the breeze can disguise the strength of the sun.

Jabs

As UK, Courses or boosters sometimes advised: hepatitis A (not normally for package tourists).
