My trip was booked out of season, staying for 3 nights in March, so I knew I was taking a chance on the weather and on the facilities that might be available at the hotel during my stat. I chose the hotel because of its central location on the south coast of Mallorca, the price, which was particularly competitive and because of the numerous positive reviews on Tripadvisor. I travel a fair amount of the time and have stayed in Mallorca many times but this was my first stay at this hotel and only my second in the resort of Palmanova. I made a very good choice! As a solo traveller I was not expecting the sheer size of the accommodation, a one bedroom apartment with a separate lounge and kitchenette alongside a full double bedroom, decent bathroom (shower over bath with good pressure) and plenty of storage. All clean and a balcony overlooking the pool for my room. Very impressive and at a fantastic rate. Location is great, I would say ideal if you are looking to stay in the Palmanova/Magalluf region within walking distance of the action but far enough away to get some peace and quiet when you need it. It's a 10-15 minutes drive to Palma and 20-25 minutes to the airport. I suspect this is a great place for young families and they do seem to cater for this with a fair amount of outdoor space and a good pool area, although no way I was going to test this in March! Reception staff are a credit to the hotel, professional, friendly and genuinely helpful. Also a very handy shop next door. Good English spoken everywhere. Good parking outside when I stayed. I know not everyone will hire a car but if you do it's easy and free for parking on the road outside the hotel. I do recommend hiring a car if you want to get the most from your stay as there are so many beautiful places to visit. It's easy to do and the roads are ok to drive on, Sat nav friendly. I didn't try the restaurant or spa so can't comment on these. I did use the kitchenette in my apartment and can say that this is fairly basic but you could probably manage a full English breakfast. There is also a fridge to store meats, cheese, milk etc. I would absolutely return to this hotel. It's just about the right distance from the centre of Palmanova and Magalluf so you can choose whether to stay in or go out without having to feel like you're in the middle of the party, especially in summer. I was lucky to experience this hotel when the island was quiet but I really had the impression that that the service I received is given to everybody, irrespective of season. That's an impressive message to convey!

When you stay at a Viva hotel in Mallorca, you know you are in good hands. All of them are good. This was the first time I'd stayed at Viva Palma Nova, though, and I would definitely return. The reception staff and bar/restaurant staff were really friendly and professional. They provided a very good service. Our room was great as we thought we had booked a hotel room and it was actually a one-bedroom apartment, so it was like having a suite. The apartment was spacious and comfortable. Cosmetics in the bathroom are provided but take your own shower gel and shampoo, as these things were poor. We also got a small basket of fruit and a small bottle of wine, plus a complimentary drink from the bar on arrival. We used the spa during our stay. It was very small but adequate. The sauna and steam room were excellent. The jacuzzi area should have been a few degrees warmer. We booked room-only but decided to have dinner at the hotel. The a la carte menu looked good but we went for the buffet. For just 18€ per head we were very impressed. There was smoked mackerel, a million salads, a million sauces, fresh sea bream, homemade 'escalope', couscous, different pastas, fresh veg and rice with mushrooms, a range of cheeses, a range of breads and several desserts. There was a grill with chefs cooking to order fillets of fish, liver and roast beef. Very good. Drinks were not included but coffee was. Excellent value. We didn't stay to watch but there was entertainment on after dinner in the form of a Flamenco show, which seemed very popular as the bar was full. The heating in the apartment was very good too. All in all we were happy with everything and found our stay very good value for money.

Stayed here for 5 nights half board in Feb with the mrs. Hotel was more than expected, friendly staff, good food and drink. As we stayed out of season we didn't see much entertainment but can imagine this hotel being family oriented when busy. Only reason I haven't rated it 5 stars is because the heated indoor pool was shut possibly for maintenance whilst we were there and due to the weather the outdoor pools were too cold to go in.

Had a lovely week here in October 2014 with family which included four young children. Hotel very presentable and clean. Room was double bedroom with sofa bed for two more in living area. Little kitchenette which was handy even though we were all inclusive. Plenty of variety at breakfast and evening meal in the buffet and good choice of options for lunch and snacks from the cafe menu. Plenty of choice of swimming pools at this place including a fun kids pool and adult only pool. Outdoor pools are not heated and did take a bit of getting used to the cold water although the kids didn't seem that bothered by it! Small indoor pool and spa pool are heated. Pool towels available to borrow (only charged if you don't return them). The children enjoyed the play area, particularly the sunken trampoline and bouncy castle. Children's day time activities were on offer, our kids did t-shirt painting, some physical activities to win medals/certificates and mini golf competition. Children's mini disco on in the evening followed by other entertainment for all. Few minutes walk down to the beach and town for access to the rest of the island. Couldn't fault the hotel at all during our weekthere.
Summer months are the most popular for Majorca holidays due to the blue skies and sheer amount of sunshine. If you are coming to Palma Nova, you'll be going home with a lovely healthy bronzed tan!
If you want to visit in the cooler months you can still expect plenty of Mediterranean sunshine and temperatures around 20° Celsius but be aware that there may be a few rain showers.
