Arrived late in the evening, approx half ten with our two sons, 10 and 6 and was told by reception that even though we had paid all inclusive we were too late to have anything to eat or even a cup of tea we would have to go to one of the restaurants locally and pay! how hard would it have been to provide a sandwich and a glass of water! On the way to our room the bar staff took pity on us and gave us a drink of cola each for which I was extremely grateful. needless to say this was a very poor first impression, when we arrived at our apartment it was small but clean, the air conditioning would not work but we were all too tired, thirsty & hungry to do anything about it at the time and went to bed. When previously staying in Menorca we had to buy water as we could not drink the tap water and we had no reason to think this had changed (reception did not tell us anything apart from rushing through what was where and scribbling circles on a map) and it was only the next day out of desperation that we realized the tap water was drinkable. Not a good start but when we went down to breakfast the next day, what a difference the waiting, staff were genuinely friendly, helpful and always smiling, nothing was too much. There was a large selection of food at each mealtime with something to suit all tastes, from reading the other reviews I was a bit concerned about the quality but found all the food acceptable. The bar and the entertainment staff were also lovely and friendly with lots of enthusiasm and we also had a lovely cleaning lady who came every day and kept our rooms clean and tidy. The air con did not work again on our last night which was very uncomfortable. The only other time I used the reception was to check out, expecting them to ask if we had enjoyed our stay, hoped we had a lovely time and please come again! no all I got after handing over the keys was "that's it, your done" It's such a shame that the reception staff do not have the same attitude as the rest of the staff, specially as they are the first point of contact, I believe there is a need for training there

stayed for two weeks all inc with my wife and kids aged 7 and could not fault the resort we all had a lovely holiday. People moaning on here about wifi need to get a life if that's what they need to enjoy their holiday. Did not take the kids tablets and barely switched my phone on for the two weeks absolute bliss. Its a mixed resort with a lot of guests from Spain and Italy so yes the food is different all those moaning wanting steak and chips every night and sunday roast stick to Benidorm next year! Food was fine and lots of choice and yes breakfast is similar everyday just like in the uk! We had an apartment at the back of the resort overlooking the hills which was lovely a bit of a walk but nothing too much. All very clean and well equipped and the AC was great! My only gripe was the plastic cups in the evening as I thought fair enough at the bar near the pool but not in the evening. They should definitely look at this but it was not a biggy. Entertainment team were fantastic in fact everyone was! cannot speak highly enough about all the staff even the bloke vacing the pool in the morning was pleasant and chatty. Resort of Fornells is lovely the beach is great and very child friendly( shallow for a fair distance) plus the rocks and the reef was great for snorkeling not forgetting the Terrapins! Plenty of other activities and a few bars/restaraunts up the hill plus a lovely tapas bar showing all the football! Overall excellent and suited to normal family people who don't live on social media and know how to have a good time.

My wife and our two children aged 6 and 4 stayed all inclusive at carema in August with our friends and their children of the same age. We had a really lovely time. The superior room we had was absolutely fine and within an easy stroll of all the amenities The food was good with plenty of choice, as was the bar service with no queue longer then you would expect at any bar, and often none at all (thanks Jean-Pierre and Gian Luca plus the two female bar staff whose names unfortunately escape me ! ) Special mention must go to the animation staff who not only kept our children entertained but also us adults, gently cajoling us into joining in many of the activities, and we are glad we did as it made the holiday more enjoyable. (I'm not normally the kind to join in!!) So special thanks must go to Tanja (my singing partner!), Esther Kiera and Joanna for the fun they injected into our two week holiday, and for the fun evening entertainment too. The beach was pretty much attached to the complex and the kids loved snorkelling there (very safe for the kids). Overall a very enjoyable couple of weeks and if there was one tiny tiny tiny improvement I would encourage the management to make would be to place the breakfast cereals, bowls, milk and spoons next to each other and not dotted around the four corners of the restaurant!! (Small gripe I know, but it did niggle at me every morning!!) So I would recommend this for families looking for a slightly smaller complex then some of the massive 'Thomson' type resorts which helped give it a much more intimate feel and great value for money. (Booked flights separately with Monarch and hotel with Alpha Rooms)
