The viva menorca has some great things going for it. The staff are great and very friendly. The pools are great but the big pool too deep if your kids are non swimmers. The food is good. The quality is of a high standard but we had a couple of nights where there was nothing too appetising. Salads and fruit and veg in abundance and the puddings are really nice. For the kids only fizzy drinks and water in the restaurant but you can order fruit juice from the waiters. The rooms are adequate. The shower is good. The air conditioning will take the edge off the heat but not really powerful enough. The location is not as bad as some reviewers say. It's 10 minutes to walk to the marina and there are no shops or cafes in between so maybe the boring walk is what puts people off. I didn't find the walk a problem at all. There is also a train goes round the resort which you can get at the supermarket across from the hotel. If I had one negative it would be the nightly entertainment. If you like karaoke with girls about 5 years old singing songs from Frozen, badly, you will love it. Everything is geared towards little kids and they have a resident woman selling toot including lasers at 20 euros. ?!? The adult entertainment is mediocre at best and if you want to take advantage of the cocktails etc of an evening it's too much like torture to sit through. We are a family of 4. One kid aged 7 and one teen at 16. She was one of about 3 or 4 teenagers there and there was nothing for their age group. We had a good holiday and made the most of the viva but wouldn't return.

A great holiday had by all. The apartment/complex was extremely clean well maintained with friendly staff who offered a great service. Our room was adapted as my husband is a wheelchair user the room was great had a wet room with plenty grab rails if we had to pick at anything we would say the toilet was on the low side. We were all inclusive which was certainly the best we have ever seen, food, drinks and ice cream nearly all day long.

Just returned from a fantastic holiday in the Viva Menorca. We were not originally supposed to.be staying here so were a little worried as Thomas Cook just told us we were being relocAted here on the Saturday before we flew on the Monday. However we had nothing to.worry about, staff on the desk were superb and settled us in quickly. Our rooms were ready at 12. Food was.excellent, every meal was different and all extremely tasty. The pools were all.great, we never had any problems with them , more that we couldn't get the kids out! The rooms were perfectly adequate for two adults/two children and we had fairly quiet rooms in block 1. The only.downside to.this hotel was the 15 minute walk to the beach which in 35 degrees meant we didn't go as often as we would have liked to. We used the bus from outside the hotel.to travel to Citudella which we were advised about from the hotel reception. Kids loved the minidisco, and although we didn't use the kids club, the children joined in many of the activities in the swimming pools.such as floaty boards, water polo etc. Drinks were fantastic, a great choice and our children loved the slush.machine in the pool bar. To.sum up we had a fantastic holiday, thank.you Viva Menorca!

Just returned today with daughters aged 10&9. This is a lovely hotel with friendly staff. It's very clean (though there are some ants). The grounds are lovely, well maintained etc. POOLS - there are two pools. The pirate pool is fun but for under 6s really as very shallow and the slides are for very young kids so mine used the big family pool. This was a good size however apart from the first 10ft, it was too deep for most kids to stand and so I do feel it is an issue for those with 6-10 year olds and it leaves everyone sort of squashed at one end! We always got beds at around 8:45 even though school holidays and after lunch more beds free up as people go off to do other things. ACCOMODATION we stayed in block 1 which is behind the pirate ship and I was sorry I hadn't emailed ahead to ask for block 3 or 4 as my kids are older and we felt a bit out of it. This section is full of babies and toddlers so we were woken most nights by crying children next door. I'd recommend those close to the pool if your kids sleep through the night. Also avoid ground floor as you hear suitcases every morning outside your door as people check out! FOOD this is simply the best all inclusive I've stayed at and I've been to loads. The food is fabulous both in choice and quality. Especially the pool bar. Kids can also get milkshakes, knickerbocker glory ice creams etc at the bar too. ENTERTAINMENT mine never went to kids club (didn't seem many did actually) but there was always something going on around the pool like water polo, walk the plank etc which does impact on use of big pool as these take up a huge portion of an already busy pool. The nighttime entertainment starts with a mini disco and then more family style stuff like a show. The kids disco is aimed at under 5s and I think the hotel is missing a trick here as there's tons of kids like mine who are just sat at tables as they're too big for the park and mini bouncy castle. It's all good music but then cuddling characters etc which mine would have loved years ago but not at 9+. We've been to other hotels were it's been more disco based but for all aged kids whereas this hotel really targets under 6s which is a shame really. Even the family entertainment is very tame. Just an average show, compared to other hotels offering interactive shows were people get up on stage etc. there's just nothing for those kids between 7-13 (not really many teenagers at all here). LOCATION. This was the biggest down fall for me. Whilst the resort is gorgeous, this hotel is was exactly 10 min walk to marina (I timed it!) and another 5 mins to beach. I initially dismissed this as ok but even with older kids, in the mid day heat it's not the nicest walk. It just feels too far out of it. Having looked around the resort for other hotels this seems to be furthest from everything and I think I passed at least 7 hotels just as nice which were closer to the resort. There are a few hotels directly on the beach and I just feel you'd get more out of your stay at a closer hotel. This hotel is great if you want to stay in the hotel all day but calan Bosch is simply too nice for this! The beach here and at son xanzier are gorgeous and there's a few hotels with bars and sun beds directly looking over the sea which are gorgeous. In hindsight I wish I'd booked the paradise club or hotel calan blosch. I would actually recommend going either all inclusive next to marina or going half board. The food at the viva is on par with anything you can buy out in resort but the resort is just lovely and to sit at the hotel all day was a real shame. For comparison, at the marina kids meals averaged €3.50 inc drink, beers €2 etc so very cheap. Half board would give the flexibility of eating out either for lunch or tea. I just felt the viva was too far to make the most of the waterpark, beach and marina. I'd definitely recommend the resort but choose a closer hotel unless planning on spending most of your time at the hotel itself.
