Thoroughly enjoyed trip. Check out Cova. Playa Azul is only a 15min transfer from Mahon airport making this a viable long weekend option from the UK.

We stayed in this hotel in July 2015 for 7 nights (but wish it was for more) and found it be far better than we imagined. The hotel was very clean and inviting, we found the Staff very friendly and could not do enough for you. The food was very good with a wide choice either at breakfast, dinner and evening meal, the hotel was close to all amenities with a fantastic view from our sea view room.

I stayed here as a couple for 1 week all inclusive. We were given a ground floor room with twin beds pushed together and bathroom only had shower (albeit a very good one). I know some rooms have bath too so request direct with hotel if you want one. Rooms had hairdryer, shower gel dispenser but no little bottles of shampoo or body lotion so you'll need to pack them. Our patio door didn't lock and even after they tried to fix it, it was still possible to push it open from balcony! They did give us a free safe because of this and for some reason I felt safe there! Food was quite good in my opinion. I'm a vegetarian so never expect too much choice but the salads were really nice and there was always fresh veg too. I did have a spinach cannelloni and a vegetable stew that were particularly good. The pool was particularly nice. The water was a great temperature and always clean. There were the usual selfish people who put towels on beds to reserve them but a couple of times I just asked if they'd been unoccupied for over an hour and then just moved them off! We always found beds when needed one way or another. The pool area overlooked the beautiful bay below. There are a lot of steps (190ish) which was ok on way down but a work out on the way up! If you have knee trouble they would be a problem. If you have a car you can drive there. I bought myself a parasol from the supermarket opposite for only 8 euros as I prefer to position my own on the beach. I think the hotel may even lend you one as I left mine behind! The sea was lovely and perfect for swimming. There were fish, especially at the edge so take a snorkel if that's your thing. Wifi is not free, think it was 25 euros for week or 5 euros per day. Bus stop is just outside and only 1.70 euro to Mahon each way. We took a nice boat trip around the harbour. Menorca is famous for its dancing horses. There is a trip to see them on Tuesday's and Thursday organised by sa paissa restaurant. I unfortunately missed this as the hotel didn't seem to know about any trips when I asked. My only gripe with the hotel would be with the lack of information given by the reception staff even when asked! I enjoyed my stay at playa azul and would definitely recommend.

Great holiday

Friendly staff - clean and well kept! The hotel is in a great position - central but there was never a bother with noise from other bars nearby. I would have no problems visiting this hotel again...
