We had a very good vacation at the hotel Blue Bay. Good food, very kind staff all over the place. The pool area was fine. I missed some games by the pool at daytime and some outside bar serving in the evenings and there are lots of steps/stairs if you want to go to the city.

We've just returned from a 10 day all inclusive holiday. (June/July 15) .Maybe we are easily pleased but we found this hotel to be very good especially for the price we paid. The manager & staff are all very pleasant ,the hotel is clean and is in an excellent location for getting about to Palma and other resorts nearby. Our room was not the biggest we've had but was perfectly adequate , really clean ,with a good bathroom. The view from the balcony was fantastic - right across the bay to Palma and along the coast - there was plenty of time spent just watching the boats and cruise ships coming and going. Because its set on a small hillside there are steps and/or a small hill to walk if you want to go into the village but we didnt find this a problem. Theres a small beach at the village the usual shops bars and restaurants - if you want a lively nightlife this probably isnt the place for you. It wasnt a problem finding a sunbed - although the adjustable ones (there arent many) seemed to be reserved very early in the morning. We found the pool area to be good - theres no disturbance from loud music or people coming wanting to get you to do Yoga or whatever. This suited us though and made for a peaceful few days. If you want an animation team - there isnt one here.. There was evening entertainment on several nights - cant comment on it though as we didnt go. We'd brought a hairdryer which blew up on the first day - you can get a hairdryer free of charge if needed from reception as and when required which we thought was a good service. The food was good - not loads of choice but enough and all good quality. Plenty of fruit and salads. Youd need to picky to be unable to find something good to eat. Bear in mind this is not an expensive hotel - the food provided is very good value. We were never hungry. Thanks very much to Carmen and the rest of the restaurant staff - very welcoming, helpful & efficient. The drinks are also good. Only Pina Coladas &Tequila Sunrise in the ready mixed cocktails but Paco and the bar staff will be able to provide most drinks if you ask. The Sangria is nice - very refreshing. And the hot dogs from the pool bar are good . We went into Palma a few times - only 1.5 euros each way - takes about 20 minutes. The buses run about every 10 mins from the village and run until late.. Palmas great for wandering aimlessly and there are loads of good places to eat and drink. We accidentally ended up in Palma Nova after missing our intended stop one day and spent a couple of pleasant hours there. There are reviews on Trip Advisor with a list of "grumbles" -about the staff, the drinks, the hotel or just having to use their legs a bit to move around - some people have a strange attitude on holiday I think - I find that if your own attitude is polite and respectful -you get it back. We never had ANY problem with the staff , the drinks, the service or the room. Some people have unreasonable expectations. Who cares about the TV ,the size of the lift or wi-fi?? -youre on holiday ! Stop complaining about trivial stuff!! So to sum up if you want a fairly quiet, relaxing holiday ,and want a good ,clean and decent hotel I would recommend the Blue Bay. We would certainly return. Thanks to all the staff there for making our stay a happy one. .

We had booked holiday to Tunisia , but unfortunately we found ourselves having to find an alternative holiday 48 hours before we were due to fly. There was not much choice on offer at such short notice, and Blue Bay came up, now I know why ! ! We paid an extra £100 each for this holiday , they should have paid us . We arrived at hotel just after 9pm. We were greeted by a very rude man on reception, there was no " hello welcome for us " we were made to feel like an inconvenience to him. We checked in , had our All Inclusive bracelets fitted, and got our keys to two twin rooms. We asked if we could be directed to restaurant , to which he replied "no" you are too late dinner finishes at 9. ! ! Like fools we took his word for it, I am sure we could have had something if we had gone down . We found the lift , wow what an experience that was ! Stepping back in time , hated it , small, hot, and very very old ! Got to our rooms, adequate, clean, fantastic sea view. We were on the 8th floor. Very small balcony, only one electrical socket, and an ugly fat backed TV plugged in. No fridge, no hairdryer, no kettle for tea or coffee.Beds were old and very hard ! One thin pillow each. When I asked man on reception for an extra pillow each, he replied we would have to wait until next day for housekeeping ! Mmmmmmmm great customer service "Peter". We then went to bar for a drink, (we couldn't have dinner before bed so thought we would have a drink). We had a couple of lagers with dash of lime cordial served in tiny plastic cups lovely......... Not ! Spanish and German guests received pint Glasses ! Why I asked the barman , they are not all inclusive ! Oh well that makes perfect sense then ! First time I have been made to feel inferior for being all inclusive ! Then said barman ran out of lime cordial , said it was because of GREEDY BRITISH !!!! Great welcome thank you "Paco". When we went to bed we asked for a small bottle of water each for room, Paco said we would have to pay, why we are all inclusive ! Bottled water is extra unbelievable ! The food at the hotel was faultless. Great choice , you could help yourself to wine/soft drinks/coffee. Praise to little blonde lady in restaurant very friendly and efficient. Pool area nice, plenty of sun beds, not enough parasols. There are loads of steps at his hotel, do not go here if your mobility is not 100%. Entertainment is dreadful do not bother going. Decor throughout hotel very dated, needs huge refurb to warrant the money they charge. Snack bar by pool open from 10.30am til 7pm and same barman works there in the day. He made out he was doing you a favour when you asked for any thing. Toasted sandwiches were horrible, hotdog wasn't much better. We witnessed a couple of times other non-English guests being served pints and given crisps, and when they went to pay "Paco" said no that's ok free ! ! They were not all inclusive, lucky them ! One man shouted at his friend FREE FREE ! Hope the hotel management read this and reprimand barman . Took courtesy hotel mini bus to beach (leaves hotel at 10.30 am daily) lovely beach with reasonably priced eateries. Took taxi to Palma Nova one night , taxi cost 13 Euros each way. Cheap souvenir shops with the same stock in every one , and lots of bars and cheap drinks. This destination is for the young people not 50 year olds ! When it was time to come home I asked the man on reception (small older man) to call taxi firm to arrange pick up for private transfer I had prepaid for. What a nice man he was , very helpful and polite. Would I recommend this hotel NO ! Resort too quiet and lots of steep hills and lots of steps. Hotel clean but extremely dated. Entertainment rubbish. Wish we had stayed at home and saved our money, we were made to feel like second classed citizens, for being all inclusive, and for being British. When I read the other reviews for this hotel, I have to wonder if the people have experienced any other holidays ! Mine is the truth please take notice DONT GO !

Not all bad and I did enjoy my holiday all in all but the hotel needs much improvement. It does have the potential to be a good hotel. I'll start with the good points first then onto the bad. The hotel is clean, food is edible, some of the staff are friendly. Right onto the bad points: A lot of steps to get to pool or anywhere, weak wifi, more entertainment needed, restricted to half a pint per person. I'm not a big drinker but when you have 60 + steps to contend with it gets frustrating in the heat! Bar shut off is 11 which is too early, entertainment system is poor. Improvements: wifi in every room, open drinks bar near pool at night, some televisions at reception covering sport or movies for kids, treat everybody equally when serving, bigger variety and more quality food needed. I wouldn't return to the hotel or Majorca in general the location just isn't for me personally. The main towns seem a bit dead.
