Stayed August with family, arrived 1am in morning dreaded checking in as read abou 2hrs wait. No problems at all .curtiouse and swift. We were lucky to get a pool view, only noise was other guests coming back. My daughter not so lucky, overlooked the road but the main problem for them was having groups of lads either side playing loud music till they went clubbing and then waking everyone up on there return, the one night she complained to reception it was quickly delt with . The rooms were kept spotless and towels changed everyday. The poolside the same thanks to the cup system, take your cup to the bar and your next drink put in a clean cup each time , ice creams and crisps included in your AI ,coffee or tea in pot cups . Lack of entertainment for kids biggest problem, my daughter and son in law kept my granddaughter an her friends amused with pool games ! The quiz night never materialised, but Monday s entertainment man great fun for adults and the kids . The food not brilliant, but plentiful and we always found something. Plenty of good bars and restaurants in walking distance for a change .was very surprised that the AI finished at 11am on your last day this is the first time in going AI in over 20years !!! As we didn't arrive to gone midnight on our 1st day ! That said we paid 15€ to keep our AI till we left , all in all a clean friendly hotel at a very good price for August thank you coral star .

Just returned after a week long holiday with my husband and 2 son's 12 and 10. We stayed self catering and the studio's are of a decent standard but very tired looking. We were very disappointed with the lack of entertainment.Twice there were evening show's advertised but never appeared!"Showman" was the only entertainment during our week stay, who luckily proved a big hit with the audience.Best point's of the Coral Star are the reception and in particular the maintenance staff.Flooded room, broken shower etc...were all sorted within minutes. We have stayed at 4 and 5 star resorts in the Canaries where we did not receive such good service.Very clean pool area and lovely new sunbeds, make for a lovely relaxing pool holiday,If the entertainment was better,we would doubtless return for another holiday. Many thanks again to the maintenance team.

Before we arrived here we were quite apprehensive after reading some of the other reviews, however from our experience would say they were a little harsh. We arrived around 10:30pm and check in was quick, we got to our room and there was an issue with a light switch (it was hanging off the bed frame with live terminals exposed) with it being so late and us just wanted to get sorted and being an electrician myself I turned the power off and fixed it using some cutlary as tools. Not ideal at 10:30pm but that aside everything else was okay, free air con worked a treat, kitchen facilities were basic but fine for us. We had requested a cot for our daughter but that wasn't in the room, on our way out we asked if it was possible to get one and when we came back 2 hrs later there was a cot in the room! Shower was either 'misty' or power shower with nothing in between and the bath tub was well worn (delaminating on the bottom), we had to ask for a kettle but again this was no problem, can only say the staff are very helpful. Free tv in the room with cbeebies channel, once I got the ariel working (the cutlary tool box again) this was excellent for our daughter to have a little chill on the afternoon. Pool area was immaculate, cleaned daily and maintained by a friendly lifeguard however the pool bar lets it down slightly, if you want anything other than soft drinks, beer, ice cream or crisps it's a trip out of the hotel. Plus it doesn't open until 11am so couldn't even get a coffee whilst holding the sun beds until the rest of the family got up, having said that the sun beds are plentiful and the best quality I've experienced. I've never been anywhere where the pool bar doesn't offer a snack menu and it would just put another tick in the box, or even a coffee machine for the early risers. Teens club house is a great idea but there's not much in it however the club house for the younger kids is brilliant, tv with cbeebies, soft play and kids toys and also the outdoor splash pool. Entertainment programme is a little hit and miss both on an evening and daytime, seems like the hotel has sort of half heartedly tried to organise there mates mate who knows a mate to come and entertain the guests for a bit and it just depends weather he turns up and what gear he's got in his car, which could be anything from parrots to circus equipment. My only major concern was the electric circuit breaker enclosure in the little kids club house, I found this one day when no power was on and although situated at about 5.5ft the door had no secure locking and once open access to 'live' wires was easy to curious kids. Would advise that if your looking to be spoon fed and perfection then look elsewhere, if your willing to adapt and overcome for a fair price and in a great location then give it a go. Advice to the hotel would be just apply the finishing touches, it's 85% there, listen to the constructive criticism and make minor changes and improvements. To sum up a good holiday and would return, hopefully to see the improvements

After reading the reviews, I was apprehensive; I went with my 13 year old daughter and 22 year old son. The hotel was clean, the room was cleaned and beds made from the first day. I heard people complain about the food, but we had no complaints. There was always a large variety - including chips - which lots of English people seem to enjoy! Fresh salad, steak, salmon etc. Entertainment: not great but the Show man was excellent - not enough entertainment the rest of the time. Swimming pools were lovely and open until 8pm. Free hairdryer (which was handy as mine broke when I was getting ready to leave UK) and air conditioning. The hotel is next to the Irish pub - next door - as well as other shops bars etc. There were groups of lads and girls, but they did not disturb the other guests. Far away from the centre - so it was quiet. Only a 10 minute walk to the beach. Great sunset! Staff all very polite and helpful. We checked out at 11am and only had to pay 15€ for all three of us for all inclusive the rest of that day. In addition, we were allowed a room to get showered and changed in ready for dinner. If I was a type of person to revisit a place more than once, I would definitely go back. Thank you to all the staff.
