Myself and my sister (23 and 19) booked a trip to Gumbet last minute and were delighted with the Hotel, location and range of activities available. The weather was hit and miss in early May, hot but overcast with some heavy rain showers at night. The beach has lots of loungers bars etc on the front however the beach is more pebbles than sand so keep your sandles on! There are lots of little shops around for bags, clothes, gifts, food/drinks etc lots of good restaurants and bars to choose from all in walking distance. X Bar was amazing good prices, good variwty of music, lovely staff. A short bus trip to Bodrum was only 2.75 lira and well worth a visit. There are lots of outlets selling Boat trips, excursions, turkish baths etc and you can barter the price down as well, The daily boat trips are around £10 and include lunch but not drinks or anything else and are from 10-5 and a nice way to spend a day relaxing. We also did a trip to Dalyan which was lovely however we were not informed of the long coach trip 3-4 hours to then get on the boat and visit the Tombs, Turtle Beach and grab lunch. it was 6.30am-8.30pm with 4 change over of coaches throughout the trip so I would suggest a good nights sleep before hand (not an hour like us !). We stayed at the Royal Asarlik Beach Hotel in Gumbet and it was amazing, lovely staff, fantastic food every day, clean and modern hotel, wifi available. Very highly recommended and we will be returning asap.

Useful Tips:

Be sure to haggle the price we took English Pounds and Turkish Lira and the Euro is accepted everywhere. Compare prices fo trips and see what extras you can get a different outlets, we got a Turkish bath and Massage with our trip to dalyan which was £45 for both of us and well worth it, Keep an eye out for free drinks tokens in the bars as some of them are expensive as most of the hotels are all inclusive.

love the place, people really friendly and always willing to help. loads to do and so much to see in turkey. brilliant for the quite holiday or the mad party holiday, gumbet has it all. loads of lovely places to eat and all very cheap. best place for turkish food is saray zetas, for steak try the windy bay or the misteral right next to each other, also love caspers in the town, fantastic and cheap. plenty of bars along the beach and also in the town. i used atlantis bar, love it, entertainment from the lads and so friendly. for the younger of you looking ofr a party night go straight to bar street, open till last person goes home. easy to get around using the local transport and i myself cant wait to get back there

Useful Tips:

cheap leather goods and hand made table cloths. go to the markets but make sure you dont take the first price, only buy when your happy you have a good deal

I was delighted with the destination as we had never fancied turkey after a nightmare visit to marmaris 10 years ago.We found a beautiful area and very nice people. We spent 2 weeks there last year and intend going back this year. We can highly recommend the windy bay restaurant. The food is excellent good prices and the staff couldn't do enough for you.We ate there most evenings. although we did try some others we went back to the windy bay.The shops are great not to much pressure. We went into Bodrum and it was lovely in the evening at the harbour. The market area was also worth a visit and the castle. Bus prices were good and they were every 30 mins. All in all a great holiday.

Useful Tips:

The only problem appeared to be some of the "4 star " hotels were the pits as our daughters came out to join us and ended up in the wrong hotel.Although the rep was great and got it sorted within 24hrs.
