3 nights in bangkok, a city you will never forget, high rise, bustling and in your face, you either love it or hate it! 10 nights on Krabi. The best scenery i have ever seen, wonderful people, earning the label of 'land of smiles'. it was a wonderful mix of relaxation in luxurious surroundings, wonderful food at very reasonable prices, great beer and tuk tuks to take the strain out of walking. a massage every day on the beach and shop til you drop if you want it!! I cannot fault it.

Thailand had alwasy been on my list of places to visit and with a 15 month old baby i was convinced it was now or never, as the cost would be prohibitive once he was over 2years. We did 4 nights in Bangkok in the 5* Marriott and 10 nights in equally high standard accommdation in Koh Samaui on Chewang. The Thai people were exceptionally friendly to us and travelling with a small child i was shocked at the attention we got. We were able to see the same sights as we would have as a couple but we had to opt for the private tours as it was easier with the baby. The one draw back was the lack of mtor safety, no child seats. We ate in a mixture of outlets from steet vendors to the sophisticated cuisine in the hotels. Bangkok was full of culture and history, Chewang was relaxing and indulgent the perfect retreat. The nice thing about the two destination strategy with a young child was the variety. There was a lot for all to see and the friendly nature of the Thai people was very welcoming

Useful Tips:

The curbs are challenging with a buggy. Make sure you buy formula milk cartons if you need them and we recommend you take your own toddler food! Having children should not limit your holiday options it just requires more planning! Many thought we were crazy to take a 15 month old with us on such a long haul holiday but we organised things well and had a laid back approach and enjoyed the holiday just as much as a family as we believe we would have as a couple!

Comments:

Fantastic, I have been to Thailand many times and I never bore of it - there is always something different to see or do. My family and I - my partner and our 2 children aged 14 & 3 years travelled to Phuket for 3 weeks over the Easter holiday. Fantastic weather - averaged around 35 degrees. This year Phuket was a little quieter than it ususally is at this time of year. We stayed in a 3 bedroom villa in Bang Tao which is a little less developed than some of the other tourist destiniations in Phuket but fabulous beaches about 6kn of unspoilt and very quiet beach to choose from. Golden sand and beautiful blue sea. I would highly recommend a visit to Thailand at this time of year.

Useful Tips:

Bang Tao is relatively unspoilt and the beaches are superb! A visit to Pantang to see the nightlife (utter madness) but definitley worth a visit.

Comments:

Although much less costly than its neighbours, you can pick up bargain hotels like the Ao Nang Paradise with amazing views, a superb pool and great rooms if you go Superior. Lovely local restaurants which serve amazing seafood and easy boat trips to local islands. Very much recommended.

Useful Tips:

Great seafood, book local trips through the hotel where possible to get discounts

Our destination,Krabi Thailand, an adventure is what we wanted, so we booked ourselves,a 6 month trip away.our adventure begain in the beautiful and quite diverse country in south east asia. After sight seeing in bangkok and chaing mai, we were ready for some relaxation, some quite time, no hustle and bustle, no foods smell, no guilty feelings for not buying something. Krabi was were we headed and as most of our journeys it took a while, once we got off our choice of transport be a boat or a coach, it all murges into one now, we jump in a taxi and headed for our resort. As the taxi drove in, we saw a sign, resort swimming pool "luxury" we thought to ourselfs, just what we wanted. as we got further in we could see some lovely rooms, all seperate surrounded by a beautiful lake, open checking in, we found out that the lake, was also the "swimming pool" and the lovely rooms were not for us to stay in, we were shown to our room, a bamboo hut, a double matress for us to share, not only wer

Useful Tips:

look out for the monkey, he steels your things and may attack you, but thats only if you throw something at him like i did . . . take some ear plugs the toads are quite loud at night, mosy spray might be needed, although plenty of nets are provided. foos is made by the wife's owner and it is true thai food absolutley delicious! town is about 40 minutes away in the car, so be aware its in a very quiet location, there are shops near by but no beach.
