A superb holiday destination, beautiful uninterrupted sunshine from May to October. This island has so much to offer for everyone of all ages. Rhodes Town is an ideal base with a nice blend of the old and the new, beach and cosmopolitan life, shops, restaurants, cafes, bars and nightlife. Step back in time to the medieval walled city of the Old Town, take in the history, stroll through the cobbled streets, pick up a bargain in the jewellery shops, find leather and lace in abundance, or just sit and watch the world go by. From Rhodes Town you can travel down the windy west side of the island to experience the shingle beaches, fresh fish tavernas of Trianda and the excellent wind surfing. Alternatively, the sheltered east side of the island offers gentle shelving sandy beaches and resorts of Kalithea spa, lively Faliraki & The Water Park, and historic Lindos. Mandraki harbour is great for an evening stroll and where a multitude of boat trips go from. Rhodes...holiday perfection!!

Useful Tips:

Corner Palace restaurant, Rhodes Town - Great food in a family restaurant, terrific steaks! Lindos a must for a day and boat trip to island of Simi. Buses offer best value, ask for taxi price BEFORE you get in. WARNING: Don't order fish in any Old Town restaurant- the balcony view might look appealing, but it is the most likely place to get ripped off. Prices are not fixed in menu.

Comments:

Small and friendly in a good location as you can get transport into Lindos which is worth a visit especially in the evening for a meal in a roof top restaurant.

Useful Tips:

Pefkos By Night Bar worth a drink to see bottles being bounced off the ceiling. Nostalgia for good friendly atmosphere for a meal and afterwards relaxing in the bar "people watching". Finas Hotel has a resident peacock which can be entertaining but a little noisy sometimes, good size pool. Terpsis Restaurant is a nice family run restaurant who are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Acroplis is unbelievable but best visited early in the morning, don't forget to take a drink as it is a steep climb but worth the views once you get there, also on the way up you can purchase various items from the local ladies which are exceptional and last for years.

The most amazing holiday I have ever had.We stayed at the Pefkos Bay Studios located right on the beach, Food was Fantastic, Clean room the Pool was great and sunbeds were free and everyone was so friendly, after working non stop for a year it was so easy to unwind in this beautiful location. It was only a 10mins walk away from Pefkos centre where they cater for everyone whether you are on a single couple or on a family holiday. Car hire was cheap, Lindos only a 10min drive away highly recomended. I will always remember Rhodes as my Favourite destination as my Boyfriend proposed to me and we will be getting married out there later this year.

Useful Tips:

The SUN take plenty of suncream it gets hot hot hot Hire a car and go west to Embona where they make the wine, you can travel around the whole Island in a day so go for it you don't know what you are missing

Comments:

Rhodes has everything to offer for those who wish for a secluded holiday in Lindos a very picturesque fishing village with quaint accommodation to Rhodes Town which is a hybrid of old and new to suit all tastes, old Rhodes Town has a Venice feel about some of the architecture with several small streets housing a selection of quality shops and restaurants, an absolute must if you visit, the children thoroughly enjoyed their stay the boys being of 11 and 13 year are not always easy to keep entertained but all they ask us is when are we going back, I rest my case as they had plenty to keep them occupied which was assuring. I have travelled the world from central Asia through Europe to the Far East and Americas, but to be honest, all in all, this island has so much to offer and is only a relatively short flight away, as they say, you never know what you have missed until you have missed it, and my advice is not too, take a little time out to taste the island and enjoy

Useful Tips:

An absolute must is Lindos, take in some sun and watch the sun go down with a good meal and company, if you are travelling alone Rhodes can be a hive of activity with several singles, and not forgetting Old and New Rhodes Town where a day may not be enough, whether you take in a stroll around the harbour admiring the yachts, choosing from one of the many restaurants offering a selection to suit all pockets to shopping, or maybe soaking in some of the architecture and the colourful array of gardens, and for those who want the night life being such a large island its all there too.
