Things to do in Tenerife

Take a hike up Mount Teide

Soaring over 12,000ft into the skies, Mount Teide is Spain’s tallest mountain and the world’s third-tallest volcano. Those in the mood for a workout can follow one of the 37 walking routes - or for a more chilled-out way to explore, hop on the cable car to take you up into the clouds. By night, it’s also the setting for the ultimate romantic escape, with the chance to stargaze right from the centre of the crater.

Make a splash at Siam Park

Rated the number-one waterpark in the world by TripAdvisor, Siam Parque boasts over 30 rides and attractions, from pulse-pounding kamikaze slides to a lazy river. The gigantic Palace of Waves pool even has its own real sand beach, and the Lost City splash park is perfect for little swimmers. There’s even a luxury champagne club with Balinese beds!

Go on a wild night out to Veronica's Strip

Those who live for a wild night out can't miss Veronica's Strip in Playa de las Americas. Head over to the strip after 10pm for an evening discovering the bouncing neon-lit bars and clubs that make Tenerife nightlife so famous.

Island hop to La Gomera

Heading off on a ferry from Los Cristianos to the neighbouring island of La Gomera in less than an hour, where you can discover jaw-dropping mountain ranges and some of the best top-class Canarian cuisine. The famous glass-fronted Abrante Viewpoint is the place to go for unforgettable views, but be warned if you're afraid of heights!

Explore The Market of Our Lady of Africa

This popular market consists of three squares with various stalls selling a range of products, including Spanish tapas, fruits and vegetables, baked goods and even fresh flowers. It’s the perfect opportunity to do some shopping, but the atmosphere alone paired with the traditional terracotta buildings is well worth a visit.

Lose yourself in lush botanical gardens

If you love being surrounded by beautiful nature, this one's for you. Ancient fig trees and tropical plants await in some of Tenerife’s most famous gardens. The main botanical gardens in Puerto de La Cruz date back to the 18th century, where you'll find leafy arches and colourful walkways, perfect for a peaceful day out.
